This past weekend a little screw fell off and after trying to place it back in at home I decided to call and see if they would be able to help me. Katia answered me and she was very polite over the phone and said I could stop by so they can look into it and see if they would be able to help me. I ended up going the following day and Katie was the one that greeted me. She was able to replace the little screw and even helped me pick out a new pair. Honestly, great customer service and wide variety of glasses. Also, it helps that an optometrist is right next door.

I've called multiple times in reference to some glasses I had made with their office, and they never answer or they do answer and then they hang up. It's a terrible job done by staff; it seems they just like to sit and talk all day but only to each other. I had an appointment late October and purchased my glasses the first week of November. It's going on 3 months, and they have no answers for my glasses. I wouldn't recommend coming here it seems you'll get your new glasses/contacts by your next visit which is in a year.

Dr. Lambert and Andrea were exceptionally good about explaining everything to us and in answering all our questions. After the exams we ordered new glasses. Seriously...Texas State Optical deserves it…read more From the moment you call to make an appt, to when you walk in the door and are greeted by the staff...to when you finally put on that new pair of glasses you've been waiting for! TSO offers the best customer service experience possible and you get great glasses to boot. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by the staff and they checked me in. I only waited about 5 min before getting my eyes checked. Throughout the entire time, the young lady helping me was amazing. Extremely courteous... professional...and every other word that relates to customer service exemplified. I took in my old glasses so they already had an idea of my prescription. The doctor took me to the back for the eye exam and about 10 min later I was walking out. The staff then showed me which lenses I could pick from based off my insurance. After choosing the ones I liked, they said they should be ready in about 1 week. Well to my nice surprise they were ready for pickup the next day! When I went to pick them up they gave me the case with a spray and small towel to clean them with in a small bag with my name hand written on it. The devil is in the details but those little details win over customers. This feels like a fairly new optical... slightly small...but with it's amazing staff, great doctor, and top-of-the line customer service, it feels and is the best place to get your glasses.

Etc.). My family all agrees she is the best in the area for eye exams. One family member had a hard time with contact lenses and Dr. Chang was great working with her. The lady who did the screening and initial testing for glaucoma, etc., was also very friendly and thorough. The ladies at the reception however could use a refresher on customer service. They did not greet me or others I noticed as we arrived. They looked like they really didn't want to be there or help. Perhaps I just caught them at a bad time. The day I went the office could have been managed better. While I had an appointment for 1 PM and arrived 15 minutes prior, I did a lot of waiting. They took me back on time, but it was 3 PM before I got out. The frames are all name brand and expensive, not well organized. If you're in a hurry, you might want to go somewhere else. However I felt it was worth the wait and the lack of professionalism from the front desk to be seen by Dr. Chang. I have tried several other places in town over the last 18 years. Some others have nicer looking buildings and perky people, but she is the best I have found. Prices are reasonable too, and some insurance is accepted. I do recommend Nolana Eye Center for eye exams but I go elsewhere to actually buy my glasses. The office is part of an older strip mall. Rather dated, a little dark with wood paneling. There is a private parking lot and it's in a great location on Nolana Ave.

They said they had worked out a plan. He was to go directly to Pena Eye Institute in McAllen. He could barely see with one eye . When he arrived he was asked by the receptionist Mable for $35.00. My husband explained that we had just moved into a gated community and we live on a fixed income because he is disabled and if she could bill him for it she refused and did not care. What has happened to empathy and common decency? So today I called and spoke to the office manager her name is Amanda and she had the same non-caring attitude as her staff. I work for five Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeons and they would never turn a patient away because they didn't have their co-insurance. I also read other reviews for Dr Pena, the wait time is about 3 hours before you are seen by Dr Pena. My husband is my world we have been married for 33 years, I find this so upsetting and I am disgusted by this entire practice. I hope this will help other patients to read reviews before choosing a Doctor.
