I've been going to this place for so long, and keep thinking I should give them a review! Here it is- I like to try new places, but an often disappointed. Each time a place has not lived up to standard expectations, I go to DQ Nails knowing that they will always deliver a great service, be professional, and be respectful of time/appointments. This place is amazing at their efficiency and customer service! Update- About a week 1/2 ago, I went with a friend whom made a reservation at 4:00. We didn't get our nails started until 5:00. They seemed to be extra busy, and the front desk appeared to struggle with how to manage reservations and walk-ins. This is the first time I've experienced this here, so I would go back. read more

I had been recommended this salon by friends who all had great things to say about it. I got a gel manicure and was extremely disappointed. As other reviews stated it was painful and they tore up my skin in the polish removing process. So much of the new color ended up on my skin, which I feel like should be an obvious issue. I've been here twice and the first time they cut my fingers several times and I was only getting a standard manicure. Second time I didn't even get seated. I get it's busy at times and they're trying to make their money but when you walk in they will tell you it'll be a 20 minute wait for you to get 2 pedicures done. But they'll seat 2 single women before you and a group of 3 women before you even though those women walked in after you. I love this place! I started coming here about 6 months ago after a friend recommend it. I go every 3 weeks. Katie is who I always ask for, she does a great dip powder manicure. I can usually always get in the same day with her, I always call and make an appointment first. Their prices seem reasonable in comparison to others in the QC area. Another thing that I love is that once I sit down Katie doesn't leave the table to work on someone else's nails (this is why I left my old nail salon, I don't love to wait while you work on someone else's nails). I had some time in the day and decided on a whim to get my nails done. I walked in and was greeted quickly. Vivian did my nails and she was SO nice, very quick (but not sloppy or anything) and did exactly what. I asked usually when I get my nails done, which is not often, I'm really self conscious because I bite my nails and when I get acrylic, I like them pretty short. So I feel like I need to post this 1. So others can avoid this place & 2. SO THE BUSINESS ITSELF LEARNS A LESSON ON HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS. The last week of July 2017 I went into DQ nail bar & asked for a set of pink and white ombré nails. Quinn (i believe his name was) confidently assured me he could preform the job. Even after showing him a picture of exactly what i wanted. As he got closer to being finished i started to question him - because what was being done looked NOTHING like ombré! After being cut with nail drill several times he kept telling me to just wait and see until he was completely finished that it would look like the picture i had shown him. The first picture i have posted here, was the end result of Quinn's work. I was literally speechless, my eyes teared up & he knew i was not happy. Without any apology or even offering to discount or even completely remove the nails. HE CHARGED ME FULL PRICE WITH NO APOLOGIES. Didn't even care what his work looked like, acted as if i was the one inconveniencing him and gave me attitude. I paid full price about 60 bucks - even gave a tip and left immediately. After googling and asking around for the following 45 mins. I frantically took myself over to Nails De Vie where STEVEN giggled at the nail job in disbelief but quickly started the removal and put on a PROPER ombré set. Which is the second picture i have uploaded here! So in total of less than 6hrs i ended up spending over 100 dollars to get a proper set of ombré nails thanks to QUINN AT DQ NAIL BAR. This whole experience was unnecessary had Quinn only told me he couldn't preform the service. Don't lie to people! Since this incident i refuse to go anywhere else for any nail service except for Nails De Vie! The place is clean the staff is very friendly and cares about the quality of their work and isn't just trying to shuffle as many clients in and out as they can. read more

Very friendly service. Upon arrive you're offered a beverage. They offer nail service, feet, waxing and more. I had a fill in with design and my eye brows waxed and certainly couldn't be happier. It appeared there were a lot of regular customs, the staff knew them by name. They welcome walk ins, as I had and was provided services within a few minutes. I had a an appointment with 3 friends for 12pm and the first person didn't get their nails started till 12:30, not to mention that we didn't leave till 2pm. One of my friends nail tech just got up and left while she was getting her nails done. All of my nails are lumpy and very uneven, and so are all my friends. We are all very upset. I have come to DQ for every fill/ set of acrylics and they have never done me this bad. To start with something positive; i will say this place always appears very clean compared to other salons in the area. I have always enjoyed going to this salon, until my experience last week. When you spend 70$ on a manicure/pedicure, you want what you paid for. My pedicure was sub-par, it was nothing special. The manicure I received was nothing short of horrible. I explained that, while I know my natural nails are short, I wanted to add some length to them without using acrylic. I hate the look of thick fake nails. They explained that sure, this would not be a problem. During my full price manicure, my cuticles were not cleaned up at all. They look like shit considering I had not had a manicure for a long time. The woman began using what appeared to be acrylic, when I asked if that's what she was using she just kept assuring me they would not be "too thick". On top of that, they used gel polish and charged me for that despite repeatedly saying that I did not need gel nails since they ended up using the acrylic. Clearly, they just wanted to charge me more money by using the gel polish. Now, 1 week out, 1 nail is cracked and another is completely broken off. For 75$, they should last at least 2 weeks. You can't even tell I got a pedicure a week ago. Overall I'm very disappointed and will not return. There are other places to spend my money. read more

I went here after my friend spoke highly of it. With having an appointment I was greeted at the door immediately, offered a drink, and assured I could receive manicure and pedicure services. Upon getting my nails done the technician next to me was EXTREMELY rude to her customer, yelling at her and mocking her for being indecisive on the color she wanted for her college graduation. Personally, my technician cut me 5 time with her aggressive, saw like filing technique, which has left me with 5 small cuts that are as agonizing as paper cuts. I let it go as I'm only 21 and reluctant to tell people how they should perform their job. Once my manicure was complete I moved to get a pedicure where they began doing only color. When I clarified that I asked for a full pedicure the man felt the need to clarify it was $30 as though assuming I wouldn't be able to afford it. THIS really put me over the edge, as I do not flaunt my money, but also do not deserve to be looked down upon for my age, especially when I come in polite and well groomed. After this, they made me switch chairs to a completely separate back room, and continued to give me easily the worst pedicure and paint job I've EVER received. The manicure and pedicure was below average for what I payed, and the service was beyond unpleasant as well as unwarranted. The only reason I give it two stars over one is because the salon itself was very beautiful, lofty, and clean. I HIGHLY recommend you don't seek services here. read more

I got the cat eye on my natural long nails and the first girl doing them did not know what she was doing so the owner (girl) came over and finished them up. They never put a top coat on and the finished product looked horrible with bubbles and uneven coat on the nails. I go every 3-4 week to AJ Nails normally but my friend and I went there because we didnt need an appointment. First and last time. I even took the time to call and no one picked up when I asked to speak with the owner and then I emailed them with no response. Seems they have bit off more then they can chew in the nail industry. i'm not sure why this place doesn't have a better star rating! okay so my friend and i walked into my normal place (TNails) looking for both of us to get full sets and pedicures, it was like 3:45 and they told us no because they were too busy. no big deal we just randomly decided to try dq since neither one of us has been before. we noticed the parking lot was pretty full but tried our luck anyway. the moment we walked in we were so politely greeted, and sat down to pedicure bowls, which had the plastic liners and i really liked that! then we were offered a free drink, and able to pick out our colors in the chairs which was nice. my nails honestly looks so awesome. a different lady did my nails and one did my toes and both are so nice. it was like $20 cheaper than my other place i go to, and my nails look so much i really can't wait to go back!!!!! I went to get a mani/pedi to treat myself and relax after a very stressful event yesterday. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but enjoyable. While sitting in the pedicure chair, the woman who takes shellac off started working on my fingernails. After filing the tops of the nails, she prepared to wrap them in acetone soaked cotton. She knocked the container of acetone on me and it spilled on my clothes, on my arm, and all over my bracelets. She tried to blot it up and continue. No apology, nothing. I am a chronic migraine sufferer and the fumes were making me nauseous so I asked her to stop and take it away. Apparently she doesn't understand English and continued to try and do my nails. The young man that works at the desk walked by and I told him what happened, he explained to her to stop. Again, no apology. After a bit the person who appeared to be in charge asked if I was ready to continue. When I expressed my disappointment he said, "I'm sorry, accidents happen, we do the best that we can." Finally an apology, but not really meant. I explained how the fumes made me feel sick, the acetone made my arm burn, my pants got wet, and my bracelets were probably ruined. He didn't care, offered a 15% discount on my nail services and said that was "the best he could do." How pathetic. I understand accidents happen but when they do, the person at fault should make things right. It wasn't even about the money, it was about how they treated me as a customer. I looked at the 1st hand when they were done and they weren't shaped anything like I asked.
