There is plenty of green and tons of space for picnics, running around, outside games with a playground and special events throughout the year like Mile of Music. I think in the winters, they have an outdoor ice skating rink. Or they did at least when I was little. A great little park in the heart of the city.

We had been seeing this space across the river when out for walks on the Fox River State Trail…read more Late in the year, we finally drove across the bridge to see what this place had to offer. The park seemed spacious and had few visitors. There is a nice view of the river, space to roam, and some wildlife to see. Whoever is in charge of the park is taking down some large trees to our dismay. For balance, new trees have been planted which is heartening. Ashwaubomay is a place to explore if you've been to Voyageur Park and thought it was too crowded. After all, they both are on the shores of the same river. If I had my way, there would be more greenery especially between the water treatment facility.

This is by far, the worst swimming pool in the area. If I…read morecould give it a "0" I would. First, they do not allow life vests, or arm water wings for kids. The staff completely yelled at me for making sure my child was safe swimming in the water. They claim that their lifeguards would save a child if they were to drown. But yet, all the Staff, mostly men, were to busy hitting on the few girl lifeguards and sat around sun tanning the entire time, not once did they look toward the water to see if people were safe. And if my kid can't be safe, this place IS NOT SAFE. Second- the cost is crazy! $13.50 for two adults and a 6 yr. old. I would rather drive all the way out to Shawano Lake and would not have spent that much on gas. Third- No coolers allowed. Even the small lunch coolers are not allowed. They would rather you die of heat exhaustion and dehydration. And then charge $2 for a small bottle water at their "store" And last but not least, I personally witnessed a mother allowing her 8 yr. old son to pee in the sand! He came out of the water screaming he had to pee, so his mother told him to lay face down in the sand and pee in the sand. GROSS! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Way-Morr Park's rental shelter is situated along the river and right next to a wonderful children's playground area, making it a popular choice for family reunions and other functions. Have visited here many times over the years and thought high time this little gem had its own Yelp presence. Besides a great kids playground, ample room and picnic tables for large celebrations (the reason I visited twice), including a massive outdoor grill, the same one I personally cooked over 250 hamburgers and probably 200 hot dogs for a family celebration once. Oy... new respect for people that do this for a living. That was a long afternoon. Nice bridges over the river, lots of woods to explore, several toilets (you wanted to know that didn't you?). Managed by the local Lion's Club as I understand it. Call ahead, reserve. Don't know the price but this is a fantastic place to have a large family gathering, exactly the kind that, uh, isn't happening right now. But it will some day! Seriously, a great park you can literally rent for a big outdoor shindig.

This trail is much narrower and twisty than the Fox River Trail, so it seems like it would be more apt for recreational walking or jogging rather than heavy duty biking or running. The trail has decent markings so you will generally know where you are along the path. Don't be surprised to see a lot of wildlife along the way as much of the path goes through wooded areas. During my run I saw a turkey, a turtle and a large white bird.
