During the wait you think "this MUST be THE place to be." Nice enough waitress- busy but attentive and friendly. Was told by a patron outside the biscuits and gravy were the best! So we got that - so bland. The gravy tasted like flour and water. A few tiny bits of sausage but NO flavor. The biscuit was ok- it's a biscuit. It came with home fried potatoes- that had NO oil/ grease. It was just sliced potatoes - no oil, peppers, onion, no spice, seemingly not even S&P. Another friend had a special French toast- she enjoyed those. The pancake was fine - pancakes are easy to love. They didn't have maple syrup which maybe is too much to expect - I know it's pricey. The floor definitely needed attention; I'd recommend at least sweep it every day, and they should dust off the backs of their beautiful wooden chairs. We stopped in, getting a couple half sandwiches and some sides. I opted for a cup of their beef chili as my side and it was EXCELLENT! Very tasty, fresh ingredients, and nicely spiced. I also got their Italian sandwich to go with it - This was one of the BEST Italian Sandwiches I've had! The spread on it was so flavorful!! Service was very nice too. We only come to Marshall once a year, so this year we were super surprised to see that they have made changes inside. They now have an awesome upstairs area with lots of seating. I forgot to take pictures which is not the norm for me, but I think the excitement of being there took over. I went two mornings in a row. The first morning I had the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and a slice of cake. Both made perfectly. I also tasted my friend's almond croissant, which was amazing.
