Good selection of bourbons and Scotch at this store. The staff was cordial when I asked if there were any other sections I should be aware of with the store. Beer cooler also had a good selection (although I just walked by, as my trip was for a bourbon hunt). Price is set by the State of Oregon, so no issues with bottle mark-up. Ok place to find some of the standards, but nothing rare. No Blantons no Wellers no Elijah Craig 18 year old, no McKenna 10 year and no Stagg Jr. There were a few Whistle Pigs of varying age. Female cashier friendly. read more

The selection here is outstanding. Doesn't matter what I'm looking for I can always find it no matter how obscure it is. And the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. There's a guy there that I have frequent chats with about Mezcal. He makes great recommendations. This is definitely my favorite liquor store in town. read more

This store has been great, and come in handy so many times when other liquor stores have failed weather it be they were out of stock, or their hours were terrible. We have driven across town to a few liquor stores on a few occasions over time, only to find this was the place that was open, and actually had what we were looking for. I don't drink much, and neither does my guy, but he really likes the aged scotch whiskey. The staff here is quite knowledgeable on their products. My guy likes the Glenfiddich 18, which is hard to find at some of the other stores in town. They keep a great stock. I have also found some great cbd soda's here. Witnessed the manager (not sure of her name yet) taking people who looked quiet underage through the back of the store right after it had closed. Maybe they were relatives but i've witnessed her on several occasions being very suspicious when it comes to letting random young people into the back of the store. Hope everything is safe. I went to this store looking for Hennessy or Clase Azul for my upcoming birthday party... they didn't have either one so I left. As I walked out the door, a very large man yelled at me "hey man let me see what's in your hands!" I showed him my keys and my wallet,then he said "ok you're good people walk outta here with stuff all the time" But I was not 'good'... I was embarrassed and insulted. How could someone confuse keys and a wallet with a bottle of liquor? Either way I suggest this store get better security technology and practice better judgment. I was prepared to spend $150 for a bottle of tequila if they had it, however now I will never spend money with them nor will my friends and coworkers. I think this is the largest and most central liquor store in Eugene. It's really clean and nicely organized. They have pretty much all of your alcoholic beverages here plus a few accessories that would make for good gifts. The staff is nice and willing to help answer questions or show you to the section you are looking for. I've tried some things on their recommendation that I didn't like and felt like they were trying to sell it to me so they could get rid of it. I am a 21 y/o College student and went to downtown liquor to purchase a bottle of vodka for a birthday party. When I went to the counter to buy the vodka I was greeted and asked for an ID (not unusual, although at first glance I definitely look over 21) and as soon as I handed my license to the clerk his entire demeanor changed and it seemed as if no matter how real my license was he was convinced it was fake. He did everything in the book to test for a fake, tried to peel the edges off, took a blue light to it, a magnifying glass, and then he bent it edge to edge and snapped it. At first he tried to keep it, I convinced him to give it back to me because that is in fact my real drivers license and he then said to me, "you must have gone to a sh*tty DMV because thats a sh*tty license." I am now in touch with the Eug. police department pressing charges for "Destruction of Personal Property" and the OLCC because it turns out he has no right to damage my ID real or fake until it has been confirmed by the OLCC to dispose of it, if in fact it is fake. What he should have done is simple hold on to it until I contact the OLCC to get my license back because it is real. Also no one in the store told me to contact the OLCC I had to find that information out through the dispatcher when I called the police. read more

Staff is rude especially the gold alcoholic guy with the beard. I would recommend Apple market they are friendlier have a better selection at better prices. In addition it is a great grocery store making it one of the best one stop shops in town. read more

Went into Downtown liquor and my friend who has a Canadian ID was rudely denied because "Canadian ID's are invalid to purchase alcohol". He was very rude to us and continued to say we were not allowed in there even though her ID was more than valid. We got back into the car and I looked up what the law was for Canadians to purchase alcohol in Oregon. A bill was passed in 2021 that allows for Canadians to purchase alcohol with their ID. Also, I am an American with a valid ID and they wouldn't let me buy alcohol. I went back into the store and showed the manager the Bill that was passed and he rudely again under his breath said that we were NOW allowed to purchase. Not a single worker apologized to us and the man who continued to deny us went into the back of the store and didn't show his face again. I will never give them a dime of my money again and other people shouldn't either. It was HORRIBLE customer service. read more

While Oregon has a semi-strange set of liquor control laws, I will say that I approve of the fact that the state's licensed package stores tend to be clean, well maintained, and generally carry a very good selection of hooch. The Downtown Liquor store location in Eugene, not far from the municipal courthouse (a bit ironic, perhaps), is probably my favorite location in the city. Perhaps it's just my perception of the place, but it seems to have the best selection by far, particularly of bourbon, rye, and whiskey. Plus, the clerks generally seem to know their stuff quite well, and are very willing to make recommendations. High traffic times are, unsurprisingly, Friday evenings and weekends, since this is the closest location to the university--but I've seen them absolutely refuse to sell anything to people who they even THINK have a fake ID (as well they should). read more

I've always liked this place for the selection and the cool employees. They did a massive remodel a few months back which makes this by far the largest Liquor Store in Eugene. The general manager brought in my favorite beer for me, hell of a nice guy. The wine selection with the extra space from the remodel is getting better every time I visit. With the expansion the beer selection is epic! I highly recommend. read more

The selection was great but the guy at register thought it was okay to bend test my ohio id (i just turned 21 in May and I know these are not supposed to be tested like this). It snapped in half and they said they knew it was a fake id. They forced me to leave and I had to call my state DMV to get a new id. They are way too strict and paranoid given this is a college town...scan id's; don't bend test and have a stock employee walk up and snap my id in two halves....I was helping my sister move into an apartment for college and now have to pay a fee to get an id to get on my plane to OH. read more

They just expanded their floor space and now have a huge selection of beers and wine, and a lot more liqour items. It's awesome.
