Great place for a quick and filling breakfast…read more You order at the counter and have to seat yourself, but the staff is super friendly, and they do bring the food to your table and bus the table afterwards. We arrived to a long line to order, but the line moved quickly, and the food came out very quickly. At the same time, there was no push for us to clear out quickly, so we were able to relax to enjoy our breakfast. I had the eggstreme biscuits with chicken tenders added on. The biscuits were fluffy despite being drenched in the spicy sausage gravy and topped with two eggs (I went with easy over). The chicken tenders were juicy and yet stayed crispy in the gravy. My meal was huge, and I shouldn't have finished it, but I couldn't help myself. It was that good. I also had a cold brew, which was delicious, especially when made up with the maple sweetener and a splash of cream. My kids enjoyed their kids meals, and my husband enjoyed his chicken biscuit and half waffle. I'll happily return the next time I'm in the area and wanting a breakfast outside of my resort.

The biggest problem with this location is the small parking lot. It can get very busy on a weekend morning. But the staff is friendly and usually quite efficient once you find a parking spot. I really like the food here. The very first thing I ever ate here was the farmer and it has always been my go to. It is a biscuit with fried chicken cheese, bacon, and apple butter. I love the sweet, salty, and savory altogether. The five and Dime is another hit and I think their signature sandwich. It is like the farmer but instead of apple butter it has gravy and it also has an egg. They also have some pretty good waffles, which is what I get for my kid when I take him here. Their tea and coffee selection is robust. The only downside is that as they have gotten bigger and they have lost some of their personal touches. They used to ask me funny questions and would use that to help find you to give you your order. They might ask who your favorite superhero was and call you that way. Now they just give you a number like everywhere else. The other downside is the price is on the high side and seems to have increased more as of late. Food is really good though.

Sitting outside was a treat, with a wraparound bar and beautiful views that made for a relaxing afternoon. Inside, the restaurant has a classic Boston seafood-house feel, complete with plenty of TVs for catching a game. The menu features a lot of Boston-inspired favorites. We started with the clam chowder, which was served in a mug and was very good. For our entrees, we had the lobster roll and the Frank & Beans. The lobster roll was the perfect size, served with a bag of Cape Cod chips, and the lobster was fresh and not overly creamy. The Frank & Beans came with three large hot dogs, baked beans, and two pieces of brown bread. The hot dogs were cooked just the way I requested, although the baked beans were a bit underwhelming. That said, the portion size was generous and the entree prices were very reasonable. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Town Tavern to anyone looking for a casual waterfront meal with a fun Boston-themed atmosphere.

I came down to Orlando for a quick getaway with friends and stayed at the Meliá Celebration…read moreOrlando. The Wilson is inside the main building of the hotel. The location was incredibly convenient since most surrounding restaurants are Disney World spots, other dining options were at least 20 minutes away. Without a rental car and Ubering everywhere, being able to just head downstairs for a drink and a bite was a lifesaver. The truffle fries with Parmesan were my favorite. I also ordered the chicken quesadillas were decent, but coming from Houston (where, let's be honest, the food scene is unmatched), it's hard not to compare. They just weren't that buttery, toasted quesadilla I'm used to. The green salsa had an unusual texture, almost like applesauce, which was a little off-putting. The sour cream was fine, and I actually enjoyed the pickled onions as a nice touch. The margaritas were good! They offer several flavor additions like coconut and mango that work as sweeteners, so if you prefer a sweeter margarita I would definitely suggest adding one. Ordering it straight is on the bitter side, so the flavors are a nice way to customize your drink. Overall, the ambience and service were great, and the food is solid. Gratuity is included and my bill was around $60.

Classic pub food. For our mains we had two specials, the crispy fish sandwich and the quesadilla. Both were good. Go to First Watch instead…read more I was optimistic about Keke's after a Yelp breakfast for dinner event a couple years ago. We tried to come here on a Saturday around 10am and there was a line so we returned Sunday at 7:30am. No line, but we had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. They may have been waiting on more staff since half the restaurant was empty. Our food was fine but on par with Denny's or Perkins. My potatoes were slightly undercooked and warm at best. Worst part: we came here to use a gift card since we're moving out of the country in three days. Sorry, our machine isn't taking gift cards at this time so just use it next time. We told the manager it only had $10 and she said there was nothing she could do. I found a local couple on our way out and gave it to them. I would not recommend Keke's even without the gift card situation.

The fall season always brings out the pumpkin flavor and when I saw pumpkin pancakes, I knew I had to order them. The coffee is perfect for someone who is very adventurous in trying new flavors. I thought it wasn't going to be my thing but it wasn't overly sweet yet so it was perfect to sip in between bites of pancakes. This location clearly is a popular restaurant as a line of people was forming which led out to the sidewalk. Our waiter was continuously multitasking, yet being very attentive to all of his tables and food coming out super fast and tasted so good with no "sitting on the counter for a minute" taste. Our first visit to 50's Prime Time Cafe was last year, and we were pleasantly surprised by how good…read morethe food was. So naturally, we came back. I'm from the South, where meatloaf and fried chicken are practically food groups. I didn't expect to find a taste of home at Disney World, but apparently Mom has a kitchen in Hollywood Studios. The atmosphere is wonderful: black-and-white TVs, fantastic '50s decor, and all the little details that make it feel like dinner at Grandma's. Every time I visit, I spot something my mother still has in her house. Disney calls it theming. Mom calls it "there's nothing wrong with it." The service is hit or miss for me. The servers play the parental role: set the table, elbows off, finish your vegetables. When it's done well, it's funny and fits the setting perfectly. Sometimes, though, it feels a little less like playful teasing and a little more like someone found a loophole in the customer-service handbook. There's a balance. Regardless, I come for the food, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. Everything I've tried has that home-cooked flavor. I go with the sampler: fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Why choose one comfort food when you can arrange a family reunion on your plate? Everything was excellent, and I earned my Clean Plate Club sticker. A badge of honor, although with that meal, I can't pretend I overcame much adversity. For dessert, I had the chocolate and peanut butter cake, which was excellent too. My only wish is that it hadn't been served cold. The icing was firm, and I think cake tastes better at room temperature. Let that frosting relax. We're on vacation. I may not make it here on every trip because I'm working my way through every restaurant at Disney World, a demanding research project, but I remain committed. Still, this is definitely a favorite. If you're craving a meal that reminds you of home, it's worth a visit. Just watch your elbows!
