The good: Decent Food. Great location. Nice atmosphere. The bad: Service. Celebration's Downtown Diner has a long road to go to improve. What they can concentrate on is their staff. Holy Batman let down of an experience. Our server "Smooth Shawn" (it said that on his nametag) made our entire experience miserable. We felt like we were intruding on his time and he generally could care less. Things that went wrong: He got our order wrong. Acted like a disservice I asked for a lemon for my iced tea. Never checked on us after we got our food, had to hunt him down, to tell him the food was wrong. Never remembered our sides. Didn't split the check, despite multiple times he was asked (it was a table of 3 people split two ways, wasn't a hard request) and had a terrible attitude. Based on a price for a mediocre sized sandwich for $15 and an iced tea of $4 with whopping side of server attitude and inattentiveness this place will be on our list not to return to. read more

The service was extremely poor. We were a family of 11, including three children and a pregnant mother, deciding whether some of us would stay to eat or leave. Suddenly, the manager approached us, yelling for us to leave. One of our family members explained the situation and mentioned that he had already placed an order, but the manager still demanded we leave, using a disrespectful tone. Loved the ambiance of this diner in downtown Celebration. The diner displays 1980s & 90s gadgets & movie posters. Outdoor seating offers a nice view of a lake across the street. The menu contains a nice variety of brunch items, including omelets . I chose the shrimp & grits & it was delish. The dish contained large blackened shrimp & a generous mound of grilled onions & chopped green peppers in the center of a bowl of creamy grits. Choice of cheeses was offered to add to the dish ( I chose cheddar). My hubby enjoyed his favorite sandwich-Reuben. And he had a choice of corned beef or pastrami! My adult son chose & gobbled up the featured Dutch Baby Philly Cheesesteak. The diced steak, peppers & onions & cheese sauce is placed in an open-faced round pressed waffle, I think. Downtown Diner Celebration - Pastrami Reuben $15. Normally we have Sunday Brunch with an egg entree. Today I tried one of the regular menu sandwiches. On more than a half dozen visits they always hit a home run. The reuben was a really bad strikeout. If NYC's Katz Deli/Restaurant is a "10", this diner's reuben rates barely a "1". I'm going to guess about 2 oz of meat, but I'm not sure it was meat. Pastrami is deep red and juicy. Their meat was gray and tasteless. I can only guess that they oversteamed the meat to heat it up and it got ruined. Cheese was a processed Swiss and not the real thing. Bread was a sopping mess because they failed to drain the juice from the sauerkraut first and the overdone sauce masked the taste of the sandwich. By coincidence we later passed by NY Bagels on the next corner. Their pastrami sandwich cost a bit more, but it has over 11 oz of meat. No comparison. Don't avoid the Downtown Diner, but run hard and fast from their Reuben Sandwich. read more

They have a ceiling fan near the entrance that cools the hostess area, but the actual seating areas are one step short of a sauna. If the AC broke this morning, you should let guests know before they spend 45 minutes waiting. It's 81 degrees outside today and it was undoubtedly much hotter inside. My bacon, pepper, and spinach omelette was SO good! Very big and I could only finish about 3/4 of it. Super fluffy and not greasy at all, as a lot of diner omelettes turn out. My server, Renée, was so friendly, attentive, and fun. She really took care of me and checked in on me to make sure the food and coffee was good. The atmosphere outdoors is relaxed and offers beautiful views of the lake and street. The rock & roll music was so loud that we couldn't hear one another and had to ask server to please lower the music (this is at 8:30am). I don't understand what's happened to our country where every where you go, loud music has to be playing. Just an update. Came here again in January and they have changed ownership everything is still the same except they don't make fresh orange juice anymore. However, the food is still amazing and the staff are still attentive. My server was awesome, he let us know about the ownership changing and how some food had changed. Wow! This diner is located in the downtown Celebration area with a lake view depending on where you sit. The food was delicious! I had the apple cinammon dutch baby. So yummy! Was there today for lunch, but looking for a breakfast menu, only a few options available... our server took forever to come by and take any order. Coffee was gross, the breakfast burrito was so oily, dripping even, the food took forever, all the tables around us that arrived after were being served. Club sandwich was missing the bacon aioli and when we asked for it we were told they didn't have any so they didn't put on it. I believe that's something the server should've told us when we ordered to give a chance for us to decide. The first time we went was for breakfast and that was great but won't return after today. I loved everything about this place! Our server was super on top of everything and was extremely polite. The vegan options were plenty and my favorite was the crème brûlée oatmeal. Ive never even thought of something like that but it was extremely delicious and I honestly havent stopped thinking about eating it again since! My friend really enjoyed the steak omelette as well. This was an alternate place for breakfast and I'm glad we decided to go here. The food was awesome. We ordered the chicken and biscuits which was amazing. I had the country skillet and it was so filling. The blueberry pancakes were so melt in your mouth delicious. There was a long wait so I recommend to waitlist . Service was also amazing. What a lovely spot in Celebration! I was in town for a car show and Downtown Diner was right in the middle of the action. This place is so adorable and the staff is very fun and attentive. Our server was half asleep, dumped our food and drinks on the table-his colleagues excuse was he had 'broken his ankle the day before!!!' really!!!! He was walking-it was not broken! Food was ok-not amazing. Felt like this was a 'diner' set up for tourists that has forgotten how to do customer service. Classic diner located in Celebration. We came on a weekday later in the morning (10:30a) and were immediately seated at the counter, the best diner experience is sitting right in the front and being able to watch the action. Two large cups of hot coffee later, that were kept full by the awesome service, and our orders were placed. I ordered the cinnamon apple Dutch baby, which takes a little longer to cook, but was absolutely worth it. It's a huge serving and easily shareable. We also ordered the Corned Beef Country Skillet, we needed some savory to go with our sweet. Also highly recommend but the winning dish for me was definitely the Dutch baby. Location location location. The Steiner located right on the lake and Celebration is a great place to grab a hefty breakfast. Their skillet breakfast are killer, however, if I had to leave, a recommendation is to offer some sort of bread/biscuit. Even so it's far more than anyone can eat in one sitting and so I always take it back home and heat it up for 2 to 3 more breakfast - - you get that much. What makes this desired destination are really the staff from the hostess seating you to every waiter/waitress. Each time I have enjoyed a delicious breakfast I leave making a friend. If you're in the area, make sure you check it out and afterward had across the street to sit in one of the rockers under a canvas umbrella, and just taking the sights to relax and unwind. Oh and there's a quaint, Starbucks diagonally if you need a latte or cappuccino to walk the rest of the downtown area. read more

I went here with my boss during the week while we were in town for a business conference. He used to live in Orlando so he said that this spot was very popular. Now I can understand why. Not only was the western omelet I ordered tasty (and so was the orange juice), but the server was friendly and the price was reasonable. But the best part of the entire experience? The outdoor dining. On a beautiful weather day, you're able to sit across from a small lake as pleasant people stroll by with their pets in this picturesque Disney community. My husband and I only get one evening a week to share a nice "date night." Friday night, we tried a new place, Downtown Diner in Celebration. It was a great choice. The food and service were fantastic. The portion size will not disappoint you, trust me, you will not be leaving hungry unless you decide to have water only.
