Start spreading the news, Frank. There's a new cookie jungle where dreams are made of at Robinson's Magnolia called Downtown Cookies. Most of the cookies are priced at 55 pesos. Luckily for me, there was a buy 3, take 1 promo when I dropped by. The kinds of cookies are named after Manhattan neighborhoods. So far, I've tried two kinds: the SoHo (peanut butter and chocolate) and the Tribeca (white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate). Don't worry, I didn't transform into a thick frame glasses-wearing hipster that hates everything in life that he or she didn't discover or that he or she discovered but other people got to eventually discover, after having the SoHo. It will be interesting to see future flavors. Possibly a cookie named "Chelsea" that's topped with rainbow sprinkles? Or a "Meatpacking" cookie with bacon in it?
Overall, the cookies were good. Relatively moist with just the right amount of sweetness. There is still a lot of room to improve though. There were some parts of the cookies that had concentrations of either an overwhelmingly salty or sweet taste. Maybe a more thorough mixing process would make things better. read more
