I decided to treat myself to a mani and pedicure. The place I usually go was not open so I decided…read moreto try secret nails. On a positive side I haven't been there in like 17 years, since I got married. I walked in to see it was newly remodeled. I was greeted by a lady sitting in a chair, reading a magazine, who asked me what I wanted. I explained I wanted a full set and a pedicure. She sent me down to a gentleman for the pedi. And BLESS THAT MAN because I hadn't shaved my legs in a week but he was still polite and didn't speak to anyone in a different language, instead he went about doing his job. He did awesome! Now, the set. He sends me to the lady that greeted me, who seemed aggravated, like I was bothering her. I asked for acrylic but she insisted I got a gel coat because it was shiny (well a top coat of clear makes anything shiny ) so I figured, you know, it will last longer, ok. Then I ask for almond shaped.. She says okay but long, because long is pretty. I said no, short because, that's what I wanted and I've never had a full set here before. She filed away part of the skin on my ring finger, the nails have waves in them and a few are about a week away from the cuticle already. She completely stopped for about five minutes because someone came in (relative or such, had it been a customer, it wouldn't have been an issue) and started looking throughout the salon for something. Came back finished up. Now, another MAJOR issue I have with this place is, before the polish, instead of just dusting your hands of the debris off, why are they not sending you to wash your hands? I've NEVER been to a place that just brushed the dust half off and then polished... Until now. Moving on, she asked if I wanted a design and by that time I was so frustrated I just said throw something on there, leaving me with a pretty (but pink..eww) flower. So, I will not return to get my fills, perhaps for a pedi but definitely not fills and I'm giving them three stars because the pedi dude was awesome.

Overall a good experience with a couple of minor issues…read more One, I got here at 2:15 on a weekday. There was only one person getting a manicure and the salon was quiet. Guy at front grabs the gel color swatches and hands to me then directs me to a pedicure chair in the back. I have never been here before so the process was new. A cute older lady was setting up the chair for me and did most of the pedicure treatment. She didn't seem to speak much English but pointed to the pedicure price menu. She also showed me the volcano pedi menu hoo wee that would be a real treat for a special occasion but too rich for my blood. I had gel that needed to be removed and I get it that it is a bit time consuming. But daaaang the pedicure and mani took FOREVER. I appreciate a nail place taking time to have attention to detail and not rushing but this was a very long mani pedi. When the polish was removed the guy from the front took over. He smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke it was a bit of a turnoff. He did however make sure I was happy with the selection of gel color and explained that the confetti gel was clear. And that I might want a solid color under it so I chose white. It was a good choice and I am very happy with the gel color. He also shaped my fingernails very nicely. The color was applied very carefully and I have had a lot of compliments. What wasn't that great in the visit besides the long a$$ time was he cut me a few times with a very sharp tool. Near the end of the pedi he pressed down on the cut with a towel and said he has cut me and will put medicine on it. He put some white cream on the cut. The lady had also nicked me, which was disappointing. The other not so great thing was at the end when I was paying. I gave the guy a cash tip and paid for the service on a card. I was getting my keys out to leave and the guy asked if I wanted him to split the tip with the lady? What? Is that a passive aggressive way to say I needed to give another tip to the lady as well? It was a bit rude and a turnoff. Overall the gel was very nice but such a long time to get done especially when I was the only customer there most of the time.

Background for understanding: I get pedicures every month…read moreand have been to various salons. I can say this was by far the WORST experience I have ever had. I have chronic ingrown toenails, and like to get them removed with a pedicure. I go every month as to stay on top of them. This is the first time I have been to this salon, but will not returning. First Impressions: I went in with gel on my toes already from my last service, so the lady had to scrape it off. That's not unusual and have had it done before by other artists. However this lady roughly scraped the gel off as she squeezed the hell out of my toes. It hurt so much I cried twice. She wasn't empathetic in the slightest. Besides that the lady was on her phone the entire time and was generally rough with her movements. For example, she ripped off the toe hugger things at the end and said "We are done now. I'll check you out at the front". It was the tone and just everything else that made it a terrible experience. Service: I got the "CALLUS TREATMENT SUGAR SCRUB PEDICURE". I got this treatment to specifically target my heels. They were by no means super cracked, I just wanted softer feet. Tell me how I ended up still leaving with dry feet and rough heels. I also have excess skin around my cuticles that should have been taken care of. I should of just got the basic pedicure so I could have paid less. PROS: Atmosphere - Nice comfortable chairs, clean salon, tvs Conclusion: Overall the salon was clean and has potential to be a really good spot. I think this lady just sucked at her job. I don't like being a Karen and don't leave bad reviews if I don't like something. However this was so bad I don't want anyone to experience what I did.
