This pediatric office is incredibly unprofessional and the staff is very rude. Every time my son got sick and I took him there, they would say it's a virus, its a virus always the same thing. One time my husband took him in because he had sores around his mouth and a high fever. They said it was a virus that was going around, it would clear up in a couple days. Later that night when I got home I noticed he had blisters on his hands and feet. 2 minutes on WebMD confirmed he had hand, foot and mouth. Had the doctor actually done their job and asked more questions or actually examined him they would have seen what he actually had instead of giving their generic its a virus speech. The straw that broke the camels back was 3 weeks ago when my son was having Diarrhea and a fever for 5 days straight. Of course this started on a friday and lasted all weekend. I was finally able to get him in Tuesday when they gave me " its a virus." speech again. Told me if his diarrhea did not stop by Friday to bring him back. By Thursday he had blisters on his butt that were the size of quarters, I called the office at 3:30pm pleading for them to see him early or see if there was anything they could do. Nope had to call back Friday to bring him back in. After I brought him back in and pleaded with the Doctor she told me it was probably just Rotovirus and it can last up to 3 weeks. I demanded she do more. She finally took a stool sample and said we might hear something on Monday. Monday rolls around and I get a voicemail that my son has Clostridium Difficile. A very dangerous and contagious bacterial infection!!! It was completely downplayed, she said she would prescribe a prescription and that was it. After I listened to the voicemail and did a little research I called the office back to find out why this took so long to catch and treat. The original doctor would not return or answer my call she had one of the other doctors talk to me and he made it seem like we were in the wrong here and that my son was dirty and unhygienic. Made me feel like a bad mom and gave me virtually no information about what to do or how to get rid of it other then take this prescription which I quote " it's really bitter and it will probably make him throw up." I spent hours researching online how it is contracted how to get ride of it, what other alternative treatments were out there. I feel like it is a doctors responsibility to try to explain and give you as much information as they can when it comes to deadly bacterial infections. At the rate they were going WedMD and I had diagnosed more cases then them. What really was the icing on the cake was when I tried to take in a stool sample to get tested by the lab that was across the hall. This was my third sample I was dropping off and there was 7 people in line ahead of me. I had to be in class within 30 minutes so I asked the doctors office if they could just drop it off to the lab for me, since they took the first stool sample over there originally. They looked at me like I was crazy and said no we don't do that. I told them that the original doctor that saw my son took a stool sample in the office and took it over to the lab. They said that doctor was not in that day and they did not know how to do that. At this point I have 15 minutes until I am suppose to be in class so I demanded to speak to one of the doctors there. He came out and said they would take it over and see what they could do. After class I called back to make sure the sample made it's way over to the lab. I was put on hold for 9 minutes!!! Finally someone anwered the phone and said the sample was taken over there but they were not sure if the lab would accept it from them. I told the girl I do not see why not one of the doctors there took the original one over. She said " I KNOW YOU TOLD ME 5 TIMES THIS MORNING." right there was what sealed it for me. The fact that she lied right to my face and stated I told her 5 times was how many times I told her that. When in fact I told them twice, once to the medical staff and then again when the doctor came out of the office to talk to me. Not only was this a blatant lie she was incredibly rude and unhelpful from the beginning. Parents should not have to demand their kids get the best treatment. Parents should not have to do all the legwork when it comes to diagnosing and treating their children. This has been the single worst experience of my life and all made worse by my child having a dangerous bacterial infection!!! I immediately found a new pediatrician that day for my kids. I went straight into the office paid the $40 fee to have my kids records released and I cannot wait unit the 2 weeks are up and I can pick my kids records up and never have to step foot into that place again. Sorry this is so long I just felt you deserved to hear all the facts. I urge any parents that are looking into a pediatrician do your research and do not take your kids here, they deserve the best care possible read more
