I Loveeeeeee this clothing store. I was so sad when Chandler mall location closed down but then I found this fabulous location. I'm literally here all the time. The employees and manager are very helpful especially Nola and Jayme. I love their clothes!! They are super stylish, cute, and reasonably priced !!!! If you need cute and fashionable clothing, come here. You won't regret it!!!! P.s. They have fabulous furniture also!!!! Check it out!! Thank you Downeast for your wonderful store and great customer service. I always feel so welcome! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you really have to check your receipt because prices do ,sometimes, ring up wrong. :) read more

San Tan Village no longer an option to shop at. Wish maps would've had that updated before I drove over here. read more

can not return item if it doesn't fit! I'm out $60 for something I can't use. beware and don't order online. I won't step foot in their store either after this! read more

Terrific customer service. Visited for looking for furniture, nothing is top shelf quality but if you're looking for price friendly with low pressure, helpful sales staff...don't pass them by. read more

Came into the San Tan Downeast store today and got help from Sherri. She was more than amazing and I love that she goes so above and beyond to help her customers and make sure they leave happy. I was looking for a dress today, nothing specific, and she did everything in her power to make sure I found exactly what I wanted. She would go out of her way to bring me different sizes and a different variety of styles and colors until we found what I wanted. She was helping one other woman while helping me and not once did I feel like her attention was taken away from me or that she cared about helping the other person more. Absolutely amazing customer service skills. Super friendly. Great communication. Very sweet and caring. I couldn't have had a better experience. I really hope her hard work does not go unnoticed by people because while she worked her butt off helping today, I noticed a lot of others just standing around. Thank you, Sherri! read more

Melodie was kind and patient when our little guy dropped and broke an item that he was waiting to pay for. I would give five stars - but - the woman in the clothing section (whose name I did not get) was not helpful at all. It's an epic fail to refuse to take something back that was purchased online when you can clearly see the item on the receipt. The problem was with an internal code and the customer should not be penalized for that. Do you want people in your store or not? Especially when it's 113 degrees outside! You're kind of out of a job if people stop coming in. Wise up. Thanks again, Melodie, you're amazing! read more

I wouldn't recommend ordering furniture through them if you actually want to furniture in your home. 8 months later and I still don't have all the furniture I ordered. The quality and price is good, but the wait times are insane. read more

I love Down East products but this location is terrible. Employees are extremely rude and look unhappy. Terrible customer service. I've been to this location 3 times and never had a good experience. I won't be going to this location anymore. The one in Mesa has amazing customer service and they are very inviting. read more

So my friend has been telling me about this place & I gotta say I'm so glad I came along. I found some cool things for my daughter at a fraction of the normal price but for me I totally scored! Lucky jeans & buckle jeans for ridiculously cheap. I bought them out of my size! So get this.... They bring in stuff thats embroidered- back packs, lunch pails, bags, etc..... & sell them at a really low price. Easy for you to buy this stuff and just remove the name & save a TON. I'm afraid to go back because I will buy more stuff than I need, yeah its that good! read more

I love just browsing through this store when I have time. The furniture and accessories are cute and unique. The clothing is fun and stylish but hit or miss for me, either I can't find my size or the price is just too high. Stopped in with my mom and aunt during a sale to show them the fun furnishings at this store. The sales woman was very helpful showing us around the furnishings and explaining the mattresses. Because of the sale, I ended up buying some clothes for myself. Sherri was helpful getting a fitting room and different sizes. Brooke was speedy at checkout. Taking off one star for not being able to buy clothes and furnishings at the same register so that made for extra time checking out. And the bathroom was awkward, towel roll just on the sink and a big soap refill bottle instead of a pump. read more

Sherri was so friendly and helpful! She was happy to exchange out clothes for different sizes and was so fun! She even called all the nearby stores trying to find a skirt in the right size for me. The clothes are a bit pricey but good quality and modest. read more

Clothing and furniture may seem like a weird combination but it works here. So many unique pieces of furniture and cute home decor accessories. Over in clothing you can always find a cute top or an amazing pair of jeans. Always worth it to pop in to see what's new. They just added a cool local artisan section that showcases Gilbert locals fun products. Check it out! read more

Great service & cute store. Modest clothing and one of a kind furniture

The best prices for good quality furniture. Very friendly staff with great customer service. I bought a farmhouse table and love it

Love this store! Clothing and furniture and everything is always so cute and reasonably priced! Plus the store manager is the BEST!!!

We had a terrible experience with customer service. While looking at the jewelry, an associate informed us that it was 30% off and the clearance clothes were an extra 50% off the ticket. Enticed by this, we shopped the clearance and found two dresses. At the register, the dresses didn't ring up correctly. I told her they were clearance items and should be 50% off. An assistant manager was there at the counter and said that wasn't the case. I told her what the associate said and she basically told me I was lying and that her associates would never say that. I asked for her manager, whose name was Nola, and she told me that she overheard what the sales girl said to me and that I was lying. I was surprised that she would've overheard the conversation and remembered it from 45 min ago. I asked her to honor what the associate said and she told me no. Then, I asked for the customer service number or number to a general manger and she told me to go online. She finished by saying, "they will just forward your complaint to me anyway". I was appalled at her reaction!! read more

Raving fan! The assistant manager Lia and store manager Susan Darner helped me surprise my wife and made me look like super husband! Thank you guys for making our first baby experience awesome! read more

I've been in here less than 10 times over the past few years. Interesting store as they stock Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids items (floor models, returns, damaged items) at a discount, Down East clothing and defective brand clothing (every time I try on name brand clothes there, it either has a hole or not sewn properly), furniture from various places including Down East brand, and home decoration accessories. I've purchased one shirt here, which I wore once before I realized it was defective. Things are still overpriced and damaged in some way or another. I was looking at a sofa here about a year ago and glad I didn't purchase it because after all the customers have sat on it, it's looking very worn out. Today will be my last visit as I left after an employee made me and my child feel very unwelcome. I realize most the floor models are sold as is and they don't want children climbing on them and making them dirty or damaging the items (more than they already are). There are plenty of signs throughout the store stating "not to let little feet" onto the furniture. Not a nice welcoming feeling for families with children. I am very much a helicopter mom when I shop (so much so that it's unenjoyable to shop with my toddler because I don't actually get to browse). I was standing about 1 foot away and was watching my son as he joyously climbed onto a piece of furniture while I asked him not to. I was in the process of removing him when an employee ran over as fast as she could and informed me "he cannot be up there." I was not greeted or approached until that moment. I will not be shopping in your store again. I realize I'm probably not a loyal customer, but after this incident, I will never be one. You sell damaged/broken items in your store. You sell children's items in your store. You should be more open and welcoming to having children in the store too. read more

This location is the worst Downeast I've been to. I used to really like this store and have shopped here a lot . I appreciate that they are trying to promote modesty and give more options. But the staff here is horrendous. My husband bought me some clothes for my birthday that didn't fit. I brought them back a week later with the receipt and the clothes never worn. The employee named Courtney who said she was a 'manager' said they wouldn't refund me unless I had TWO receipts? What?! Who has heard of that!? Total scam to keep money. I had to waste an hour to get in touch with customer service who immediately helped me out because how ridiculous this woman was being?! She was probably having a bad day but professionalism is a thing and taking your day out on your customers is the way you loose them. Sorry but, I refuse to shop at a company when they put their "policies" over customers and common sense. One week return with tags on, receipt and card purchased with means you get your money back- anything else is a company starving for money. Don't buy something if your not sure you'll keep it bc they won't refund you. read more

I have always received fabulous service and assistance at this location. The staff goes above and beyond to help and multiple employees will ask if I need any help. Everyone is so friendly and genuine so this is by far my favorite DownEast Basics location. read more

I have never been to a Down East before so was excited to check it out. Pretty flat experience. This location is large, but does not carry much inventory. Furniture/decor selection was lackluster and clearly scratch and dent stuff. Clothing selection was extremely small. Was not greeted or approached by an associate although there appeared to be several standing around (the store was not busy.) I don't think I'll go out of my way to stop in again. read more

Love this place! I stop in here often to see what they may have gotten in! I've gotten a few really good deals. Found my son a full size Pottery Barn bed which normally retails for over $700 - I got it for $175.. steal! They also have PB bedding items, jewelry boxes and many other great deals. Worth a stop if you're in the area! read more

Really sad to learn that this store is now only carrying their own line of products. Used to love coming here to poke through the returns from Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, etc. and had gotten great deals over the years. I have always found their own line to be overpriced for the quality (which is low). Sad to say I won't be back here again. read more

I love this store!! They have awesome prices as well as an awesome selection of furniture and modest clothing! This is my go to store and this location has amazing customer service. (: read more

Watch out! We purchased 2 small dressers which we found in the back of the store for $499.99 ea., only to find the exact same dresser in the front of the store for $199! The manager, Nola said it was a mistake and just refunded the money but wouldn't sell the dresser for the tagged price. When we asked for the corporate phone number she replied, "Look it up on the internet." Ugh! You are better off shopping elsewhere. read more

They do returns and price adjustments on clothing now! I bought lots of clearance clothing and they went on further discount a week later and they gave me the difference with no issues whatsoever. Love them! And I LOVE their clothes!;) read more

part 2: Well my couches came but only with another fight. Though the district manager promised me delivery on the 6th....I waited all day and and called a few times to check on the status and they said everything was fine... it wasnt. Apparently no one informed the delivery guys and so they told me it was too bad no one was there they all left for the weekend and there was nothing they could do. After all i had gone through i couldnt believe what they were saying. The girls were young and had no clue what they are doing. After about an hour of threatening they had called workers back to deliver the couch. I had the worst service here I have ever had. No follow up no nothing. And to boot....The couches (feather couches) that I fought tooth and nail to get here suck. The individual pieces don't stay together so I am constantly pushing them back into shape, the feathers that "dont come out because of a special bag there in" come out. The moderate fluffing is all the time. "The special compartments in the special bag to keep all the stuffing place" does not work! Overall I am not happy with the service or the knowledge of the staff. The follow up of the "big bosses" is lame and the product they sell is not all they claim it to be. I will never shop here again. Clothes are mediocre at best. read more

I find the Gilbert store employees are very rude. From the store manager to the assistance manager and all the blond employees they are very snobby. When they advertise that they have 30% off linens and they don't move the sold furniture that in front of the linens. They told me to come back another day if I was interested. Every time I go in there they just all stand in front of the register counter like they are queen bees. They make the school boys do all the work and they do nothing. I find the store is very poorly merchandised and can't walk anywhere. GO TO THE POWER STORE! They are nice and the store is well maintained and the service is a little better. If you can stand those snobby gilbert employees that think they are the owners of Down East... Best of luck to you. read more
