Not a very flashy building during the day and was hard to see building while driving up street. Pleanty of parking in a gravel/sandy lot with some pot holes filled with rain water. There is handicap parking with a ramp next to front door. Was greeted and seated immediately by Raven which took our drink order of a water and a sweet tea. There is a full bar with some tap beers. Raven gave us several minutes to look over menu before returning and answering a few questions. I was interested in wings which Raven pointed out were on special this Wednesday at $1 each, minimum of 10. Cheaper than the plate of 8 I was going to order. I went for this with a side of onion rings. My wife ordered the Freedom Philly with cole slaw. The food came out in good time served in red plastic baskets lined with paper. My wife enjoyed her philly and the slaw which is mayonaise based and seasoned well to our liking. The smoked wings came out hot and seasoned with medium wing sauce as requested. The chicken wings are some of the larger ones I have ever been served. My onion rings came out hot, lightly battered and tasting good. At 1:30 in middle of week there were only a few other tables occupied. Raven was the only server and was maintaining service well. She came back and checked on us several times. If we are in area again this could be a stop.

Food was Amazing. Service by staff even better…read moreLocation was a little hard to find but a quick u-turn was worth it. Inside was nicely organized and did I say food was great! We had the fried catfish with collared greens , fries, and Mac and cheese. Large portions made "with love" according to kitchen staff. Everyone was joyful and pleasant. Highly recommend this joint. Loved the smoked turkey in the greens!

We were seated within 5 minutes after the table was cleaned off. We decided to get catfish with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried pork chop with Mac and cheese and potatoe salad. While waiting for our entrees, we received a biscuit with butter and strawberry jam on a small plate. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. We did get plastic cups to self serve our drinks. The catfish had a pretty brown coating but could use more seasoning. The collards tasted like it came out of the can of Glory greens. The mashed potatoes need salt and pepper and butter. The fried pork chops needed salt as well. The Mac and cheese looked like Velveeta and the potatoes in the potatoe salad was firm but had a decent taste. There wasn't a designated server for any of the tables. There were at least six other tables with two or more people at each table. It seems to be a little disorganized with serving people. We had to ask for a to go box to a woman who was walking around with her hands in her pocket. We just assumed she worked there as well. There was a jazz band scheduled to perform in the other area of the building at 6pm tonight. I'll stick to my chicken gizzards and fried chicken if I return again. The prices are reasonable for a soul food restaurant. The sweet tea and kool-aid was good as well. Everyone was nice and pleasant upon entering the restaurant.

Love back road trips to find places just like Chad's Dad's BBQ!! Super welcoming when I arrived…read moreand took my time to look over an amazing menu! Great vibe here and graciously answered all the questions as I finalized my choice. I know, I know why smoked kielbasa out of everything, well it is something I used to do as a kid with my grandfather in making and smoking our own so I like to enjoy it when I see it on a menu knowing it isn't some mass produced madness, a thing one can normally find in small BBQ places like Chad's. Great combo with the sandwich (hoagie roll available with sub option as well) with grilled onions & peppers. Love a good green bean so why not when they are smoked! Good smokey flavor for both items and washed it down with a sweet tea. Small parking lot out front to use and picnic table seating (outside only) with umbrellas to keep you out of the sun! If you are ever passing through this area, make sure to visit Chad's Dad to enjoy a good smoked meal with some amazing sauces!!
