I've been in and out of their adult tennis drop and drills on Tuesday and Thursday since moving to the area in 2018. For stretches, their tennis drills have been humming with really good players - but then there's a big drop in attendance for a while. The biggest opportunity there is to start developing some new drills and not stick with the comfort of Amarillo and other drill mainstays. Wagon Wheel to its credit was pickleball when pickleball wasn't all that cool - before the pandemic. It seems though with the evolution of indoor operations in the DFW area - several opening since the start of the year - Wagon Wheel has seen a decrease in advanced players and it's mostly low to mid intermediate now - even on their designated advanced courts during their pickleball open plays. They recently enhanced their court waiting area near the original true pickleball courts but are dealing with some backlash over the construction of new courts converted from tennis because they're way too cramped. If you are going to play in a park setting, Wagon Wheel's tennis and original pickleball courts are in phenomenal shape and it's pretty affordable to play there. Their tennis teaching pros work hard and Wagon Wheel has a formidable teen tennis program with other amenities like ball machine rental for both tennis and pickleball. I don't love that it costs more for non-Coppell residents plus fees to run a credit card for tennis and pickleball so I'm willing to pay a little more for better competition and indoor pickleball.

I said "excuse me, I am using this and he said well we are moving it"! Never ever would this happen at 24 hour fitness or any other commercial big or small private gym. They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! I've never been spoken to so poorly by a grown man. Shame on him for speaking to a lady that way. Zero respect, zero common sense, zero gym etiquette or know how. These people are running a joke of an establishment and their employees know nothing about serious training or why people actually go to the gym and yet they work at a gym. There is also an unpaved area of the trail the goes along the north side of the creek that is quite beautiful. The play structures are pretty pathetic. Definitely for the 2 and under crowd. There is one near the parking lot and one at the end of the Trailwood park trail. Both are underwhelming. There are outhouses by the parking lot and a bare-bones, one-stall bathroom near the tennis courts. I am thankful for all parks with trails - what a great way to get out and get exercise - but I think there are better trails in the area.

While the Club management sought our membership, they quickly responded with plenty of answers. As soon as we joined, we found there were no open groups that played pickleball. The full-time court people had no recommendations for finding people to play. The menu of the club was pretty limited. We went to a New Year's brunch that was not discounted with food quality similar to Golden Corral, and for members wasn't very good. The gym is small, but the locker room is relatively nice. Unfortunately, I found out I have a serious medical condition that would not allow me to do sports for at least six months. There was no way to pause the membership, so I asked to quit. Two months went by, and I still have no confirmation of termination and still charging me. They did not apply the amount they said I could credit to the account membership, and I was just charged again against my debit card two months after sending them a formal notice of termination. I strongly encourage anyone seeking integrity and good communication to avoid this course. In my opinion, out of the three country clubs I have joined in 35 years, this was the worst.

Unfortunately, the basketball courts are consistently treated as repurposable "shared space" for camps, birthday parties, and other non-basketball programming, while other dedicated areas like pickleball, yoga, and cycle studios maintain far more protected use. Ruthie Cooper, Lead General Manager, also stated that as of May 22, the courts will be reserved for Summer Camp from 7am to 6pm daily, plus a 15-minute grace period, further limiting member access. The courts themselves are often poorly maintained and not cleaned to the standard expected from a premium club. Many long-time basketball members have voiced concerns, but access continues to shrink despite strong and consistent participation. While local staff have been professional in communication, the overall handling of basketball member needs has been disappointing and does not reflect the experience many of us believed we were paying for.

Like any gym it can get busy during prime hours. I have been a guest at least 30 times and it has been convenient and everyone is extremely friendly.
