We were from out-of-state and we broke down on 79 going into Morgantown. AAA contacted Doug's Towing on our behalf. I received a call from them immediately and we were reassured that they'd be there within 20 minutes. The driver was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. On a Saturday when everyone else was closed and we couldn't even get a rental car that late in the day, he dropped us off at our destination and took our vehicle back and did the repair. This company is a straight-up disgrace. They towed my car TWICE in 24 hours. The first time was completely valid. The second time? Totally unjustified. I was parked in my own lot, with the correct tags, and these vultures came and towed me again. When my roommate tried to tell the driver we had valid tags, he got aggressive, yelled at her, and said "I'll come back and tow your car too, I don't care." Seriously, who raised you? The driver was unhinged, unprofessional, and acted like some insecure little tyrant on a power trip. Threatening a young woman for pointing out their mistake? That's beyond messed up. This isn't just bad customer service--it's harassment. Then I called the company, and the gaslighting began. First, they told me it was because my tags were expired (they weren't). Then they switched stories and claimed it wasn't "my" lot (it is). So which lie is it? Pick one. The fact that they couldn't keep their excuses straight just proves they tow first, and make up the reason later. This is predatory towing, plain and simple. I'm a college student. I work hard, pay rent, and follow the rules--and these people are out here creating chaos for profit. They don't care if they ruin your week, cost you hundreds of dollars, or leave you stranded. Their business model is built on confusion, bullying, and intimidation. If you're thinking of working with this company, don't. If your apartment complex hired them, fight it. My vehicle was legally parked in the parking lot in which my daughter resides and paying rent. Doug's Towing swooped in to hook it up. Demanded $100.00 in cash on the spot to release the vehicle or $150.00 if towed to the lot. An hour later, when I called their phone number 304/291.3864, they demanded over $350.00 in cash for the vehicle to be released. Reviewing WV statute on parking laws and regulations. I've had to get my car towed twice. Each time Doug's Towing helped me out. The driver is a really great guy! He gave me an estimate time of arrival and he was here at the appointed time. He was professional and kind. He got my car to the repair shop safely for the work to be done. I knew I needed power steering fluid but hadn't gotten around to putting it in. He literally put the power steering fluid in for me. I thought that was really kind of him. I recommend Doug's Towing for the great service they provide. Also for the great guy who does the towing! Josh Hillberry was a saint! I could not have made it back home to Pittsburgh without him. Not only did he call me about being the tow truck scheduled to tow me back home, but he told me he was just a 5 minute ride away and let me call him after my important work meeting for him to meet me back at my car to load up my car and me. These people are scavengers. They will actively steal your legally owned, legally parked vehicles from your residence without provocation or warning then ransom them back to you at extremely inflated prices. In places they're supposed to issue 24-72 hours warnings, they will just tow the vehicles instead then place a warning sticker on it after it's in their lot. They will fabricate any excuse. Beyond rude and extremely unprofessional and untrained staff. This company was attempting to tow my boyfriends motorcycle and strapped it to the truck cluelessly. If we had not caught them before they finished strapping it down, the motorcycle would have fallen off the truck. They not only have no idea what they're doing at all, but the employee was beyond rude when my boyfriend informed him that the bike was not strapped on properly. Additionally, their ratchet straps scratched his motorcycle and they're refusing to accept responsibility for the damages. Absolutely disgusting employees and customer service. read more

These people have towed me out of my own spot at my house that I pay for multiple times. They are incredibly unprofessional, and as I was explaining that they towed my car out of my own spot, they basically told me that they didn't care and to give them the money. These people take advantage of college students that already don't have money, and absolutely don't care about your car or you. They lurk around and are predatory in college and low income neighborhoods. Further, they are cash only, and when you go in to pay there is an incredibly unprofessional and rude man who smokes cigarettes in your face and very obviously doesn't care that his business harms the local community more than they help. Unless you're trying to spend about 300$, I would recommend LITERALLY any other towing company than them. They are literally awful people and an awful business. read more

I was visiting a friend on Superbowl Sunday and at halftime one of the guests saw my car along with several others being towed. Tow Mater Doug took it on himself to tow students cars without authorization from anyone. The apartment complex was informed of the visitors and management gave approval. There were more than enough spaces for all of the residents, with some to spare. Both I and my friends all had to pay $100 each to get our cars. Unscrupulous BS from Tow Mater Doug. read more

Picked up my food came back out and this company was trying to tow my car WITH MY DOG STILL IN THE BACKSEAT. If I hadn't come back in time the dog and car would've been gone. My car broke down on my way home and I called Dougs towing, they were there within 10 minutes of me calling. The next day I called and needed it towed to the dealership and the people I spoke to were so sweet and super responsive, I got calls updating me where they were and because it was my second tow i got a discount, despite them being a business and getting your car towed sucks, when you need them they are the sweetest most responsive team ever. Made my life way less stressful and will 100% be calling them if I need to be saved again! read more

I parked my car at CVS on high street and ran into a restaurant (directly beside CVS) to order my food, left my roommate to get the food when it was ready, and immediately walked back to go into CVS to get bandages because I broke my toe two days ago and am currently in a boot. Firstly, when I was looking for my car I could hear them sitting at the top of the lot laughing at me. Since I was planning on going to CVS and had only been gone maybe a couple minutes, I immediately assumed my car was stolen (thinking they were laughing at something or someone else at the time). After the 911 operator explained to me that I was towed, I was upset since I was going to be a CVS customer considering my BROKEN TOE needs bandages. When I called and explained this situation the woman was instantly rude, accused me of lying about my situation, and was insanely frustrating to speak with, so I immediately got an Uber to go pick my car up. My experience was an absolutely rude staff who repeatedly treated and spoke to me very disrespectfully when I came in and explained my frustration and offered to pay and receive my car. Rather than making things simple for everyone and taking my payment and giving me my car, they would not accept my payment until I fueled their egos and apologized for my frustration and attitude. When I then began to exit in my car, after saying "no thank you" when offered assistance, my roommate overheard them say they were "going to lock me in if I kept up my attitude." This was handled in the upmost childish and unprofessional manner I've ever experienced with a company. If I knew of a way or who to contact I would 100% do what I could to report this company for the way they prey on students. read more

All the other big towing companies said no to recovering my Jeep off a trail, except for the second that said yes but had me waiting for three hours on the trail with no communication. Got a ride to Doug's and then rode out with them. The drivers know what they're doing at Doug's, and got my Jeep out no problem. If you're picking up a vehicle that's been towed, it's cash only. Call ahead so you know the fees. 10/10 customer service for when you need your car out of the ditch, or off a huge log in my case. read more

These guys are awesome. They came right away, knew what they were doing, and asked for a reasonable compensation. My car got stuck on Pine Ridge road a few miles off 119 after nightfall while snowing. Other towing companies refused to send anyone because of how bad the place we got stuck was. Doug's towing got us out with no damage and even checked under our car to make sure it was safe to drive. Can't thank them enough. read more

So I got my altima stuck on a tire stopper because it blended in with the snow and I ended up being stuck. I couldn't move at all because of the snow once again. Doug's towing charged me 100 bucks to be lifted off a tire stopper and moved 10 feet. What a sorry excuse of a company read more

The folks that got me back onto the road instructed me to the fastest and safest way to get to a hotel for a few days and gave me tips for driving on a snowy mountain. These people are a bunch of crooks. My son's car broke down at a shopping center and he couldn't pick it up immediately so Doug's was called in by the manager of the shopping center to tow the car. They towed it and charged $200 to tow it across town in addition to charging $25 a day for storage. The only way to avoid paying, they said, was to sign over the title for the vehicle. When we agreed to do so they wouldn't even let my son get his stuff out of the vehicle until they had the title, despite being required by law to do so. Since I'm not near Morgantown it will take me a few days to get the title to him and in the meantime my son can't get his stuff. The cops were no help either. This is predatory towing at its worst. read more

THESE PEOPLE PREY ON COLLEGE STUDENTS. My boyfriend's car was towed from my housing complex. He was not in a parking spot marked with a "V" BUT didn't know which spots WERE visitor parking since CANVAS TOWNHOMES does not clear their parking spots. The spot he was parked in was completely covered in snow. After finally finding out that it was Doug's Towing that had the car, we drove to Westover to get his car back. He walked in to pay his fee, but was yet again let down to find that they only take cash for tow-aways WHEN THEY HAVE A CARD READER SITTING RIGHT THERE. His bill was $260 - I am not sure how many college students carry around almost $300 worth of cash. We had to go to CircleK to use the atm. Long story short, he was unknowingly parked in the incorrect spot, where the car was towed 3.3 miles, and then forced to pay $260 CASH to get his car back. After an unfortunate accident on I79 my vehicle was undrivable. Doug's towed my car some 400 miles to my home near Toronto, Canada. The vehicle was safely and securely placed on the platform and we sat in the cabin as it was the more convenient way to return home. The young drivers Doug and Nathan were very polite, safe and professional Drivers. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Beware of this company! I had a flat tire. It was the right rear wheel. After confirming that the mechanic will arrive in 59 min - they were located 16 minutes from were I was- the mechanic arrived one hour and a half later. He looked annoyed and asked me if I had a lug wrench. I had two in the trunk. He tried to take the lug nuts without jacking up the car. Then told me that none of the wrenches fit the lug nuts and couldn't get them out. In the hour and a half since he arrived he was constantly on the phone. After an hour and a half he finally got one lug nut out and told me that the nut was rounded and that is why he couldn't help me. Then he said he was going to tow me to the shop. He did not notice until then that my vehicle is a Ford fusion front wheel drive and he did not have a flat bed. After two and half hours of trying ti figure how to fix a flat tire, he finally sugestef that I drive "slow" to a tire repair shop. So I had to drive my car on the flat tire to a repair shop.
