Wife got Doug's name from chat group. Gave him a call and he was able to get out within a day (not an emergency). Doug was very affable and able to diagnose and fix the problems for a handful of appliances. For 2 of the appliances the fix was within minutes; one needed a part of he returned which he returned with a few days later (again, not an emergency). Would highly recommend. read more

HORRIBLE experience! Will NEVER use again. Showed up to fix my frig. Said he needed part. Told me I'd have to write a check and pay up front. He left, cashed my check, got part, came back and could not fix. Did not offer money back. Said he could sell me a used frig from his shop. Um, NO! Had already cashed the check, so I could not stop payment. He knew the scam he was pulling. He left. Did not do anything else--said frig wasn't worth it. Have previously used Doug's with good results so called them about our ice maker. Long story short, Doug retired so Alex came & advised we needed a new ice maker. $340 later after Alex put in a 'new' ice maker that he pulled out of an opened box & it's still not working. Called Alex & he said it might be the water control valve or maybe the mother board. I wasn't going to keep paying for Alex to swap parts until he got it right so I called another national appliance repair company I had used in another city/state. They came, did some diagnostics & installed another new ice maker.....and now everything is working. If you use Doug's remember they are in the used appliance business so if they want to install a new part, make sure it comes from an unopened box that was sealed by the manufacturer. read more

Iv used dougs appliances for years and have gotten some great deals on some good used appliances. HOWEVER my latest experience was pretty bad. My washing machine broke so I bought a used one from them that they said was in good working order. Delivered it, it didn't work(didn't spin), brought another one and it didn't work. Brought a another one and it didn't work. I called doug and asked for a refund. He said he didn't give refunds. So they brought yet another one (#4!) AND IT DIDN'T WORK! (Leaked and didn't spin correctly). So I spent my weekend shopping for a new one and I have a workman here now fixing my floor which started sagging after the leak. No more dougs appliances! I asked Leroy how old the washer and dryer wereand he told me 4-5 years. He delivered but couldn't install said he'd be back later. I looked up age of set and discovered it was 14 years old. Called Leroy to come get it and give me my money back, he appologized and said he would. Never showed and stopped taking my calls. Called Doug directly and he told me no refunds, period. Quick ripoff! I bought a used fridge that lasted about 50 days. When I called for help they sent a tech that removed 4 screws and declared the appliance unrepairable. Then demanded I pay him $120 for his 4 minutes of time. If you hate money call Doug he will be happy to take it from you. read more

I'm not one to post bad reviews, but buyer beware of these guys..Make sure you get everything in writing...They repaired our washer awhile back and did a great job..Our fridge recently started running warm so we didn't hesitate to call them to look at it before we considered purchasing a new one, Well we are out $522 and buying a new one anyways..Still running warm and after weeks of being patient with parts and such ( I get it, supply chain issues) it's still running between 40-45 and I have a text from him telling me 44-45 is safe for food storage..It absolutely is not and thankfully I knew better otherwise my family and I could have risk food poisoning had I put food back in it.. I thought it was reasonable to ask them to come back and get the parts they misdiagnosed my fridge with and return my money for those and keep the service call charge of $120x2 for their time but nope they refused to even do that..So just be very cautious if you decide to use them and maybe ask for what the options are in writing if their repair doesn't work..Lesson learned for sure read more

UPDATE: called Doug's Appliance, Doug himself came to look at both appliances extremely fast. Refrigerator's freezer is dead, as is 2nd ice maker, RIP. The refrigerator otherwise is ok, and the top ice maker is working. As far as the microwave, Doug saved it. He is a very nice person, decent and to us trustworthy, was going to be running a bit late and called to let us know, plus no change for looking at the fridge, just the microwave. Very happy with him, will highly recommend and if needed in the future, will call again. Need a refrigerator's technician. Please help, our Samsung $3,000+ refrigerator's freezer and both ice makers just stopped working, shy of 6 years. Fridge is like new inside and out, was told new fridges, no matter the price, only last 5-8 years. NOT ACCEPTABLE! read more

This company just making money by fooling the people. I asked them to check my washer. They charged me $142 without fixing anything. Their technician came and ran the diagnostics and didn't check anything and told me that it is the problem with one of the circuit board because manual says so for the error code. I approached the Electrolux authorized dealer and guy came and found the issue is with the motor and not the circuit board. These guys are just making the money by fooling people. read more

In November I had a washing machine repaired. The spin cycle was making a loud clicking noise. The motor was replaced. Yesterday the machine stopped spinning at all. I called Doug's to see if they would come and check it. They charge $120 to come out and diagnose the problem. They told me they would not wave the cost of coming out even though they put the new motor in 6 months ago. I said I would pay for any parts and labor if they would just wave the cost to come out to the house. They said no. I guess they aren't interested in good public relations and word of mouth advertising. I will not call them again or recommend them to others. read more

My husband and I purchased a washer and dryer that immediately started leaking and not working. We have been trying to reach Doug and we haven't heard from him regarding this issue. Do not buy from this business. They have not corresponded accordingly and have not offered to fix it, replace it, or even tried to reach out us. Our Samsung dryer stopped working suddenly. We were referred to Doug's Appliance Exchange and were very happy with the experience. We had called another repair business and they wanted $100 to come out to look at the dryer and then would apply that to whatever the cost would be. They were unable to give us any information of the possible cause, a ballpark of what it could cost or whether they had the necessary parts readily available. We called Doug and, after sending him some photos of the machine, he knew what the issue could be, confirmed he had the available parts and was able to give us a firm price. Doug's son came out to do the repairs 2 days later and we couldn't be happier with the job he did. After watching him do the repairs, I am really grateful I didn't attempt to do it myself - YouTube only goes so far! LOL! read more

I'm a new resident of GA and just moved into a big house that had no washer/dryer. Not wanting to spend a ton on new appliances for a rental home, I did an internet search for used appliances and found Doug's business. After working with Doug and his son I have to say I couldn't be happier. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and they made the whole process easy. We brought a gas-heated dryer with us, but soon realized we need an electric dryer. No problem! Doug took our old dryer and gave us a credit towards an electric dryer. That dryer has been working well, no problems! Then our washer was making funny noises so I called Doug's Appliance back up. We could've had them fix it, but I just wanted to get a more modern-style washer. They sold us a front-loader. Now, what's interesting is that the washer actually didn't work so great at first. But...you guessed it...no problem! Doug personally came out to our residence, quickly analyzed the problem, and had our washer fixed and ready to go in no time. What's nice is that they also offer a 30-day warranty. That made me feel better. And finally, when we needed an extra refrigerator for the garage, guess where I went? Yup! Straight back to Doug's! We bought a really nice-sized refrigerator that works like a charm. And best of all, we never spent over $300 for any of these appliances given the credits we were issued for our old appliances. The only caveat is that they don't deliver. They have a relationship with a very nice guy that will deliver for $60-80 depending on size. That's better than having to go through the hassle of renting a pickup to move it. Obviously, if you have access to a big truck that isn't even a factor. Anyway! I don't really ever write many reviews, but I felt obligated to stop and give a shout out and thank you to Doug and his son (Alex?) for great service and selling us reliable appliances. Doug came by on very short notice to take a look over our double oven. Neither box was heating properly. He thought it might be the control board and/or temperature sensor so he ordered them right away. They came in the next day and he stopped back by to install. All we were hoping for was the top oven to work... the bottom was not that big of a deal as it gets used about twice a year. But, after successfully repairing so that the top oven worked, Doug went above and beyond and tool out his soldering iron and made a couple of 'reconnections' and BAM! the bottom oven was working again, too!
