Very helpful staff. I like cake doughnuts either unfrosted, powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar coated. I ordered a plain cake doughnut and a plain Cronut. Both were surprisingly greasy. Which usually means the frying fat was not quite at the right temperature. I expected a thin fried crispy but not greasy exterior and a pillowy interior. This place can't be passed up on your trip to Moab! I got the apple fritter and their salted caramel crodough. I liked both, but I like the apple fritter the most because of their chunks of apples inside. Their donuts are fresh and crunchy! They also have vegan donuts! Which I want to try on my next visit. Bottom Line: Delicious doughnuts in the morning and fried chicken sandwiches in the afternoon. Of all of the eateries we wanted to try while on our trip out west my husband and I were the most excited to try Doughbird. For many months we were excited to try it but then we learned it would be closed all three days (Tues. through Thurs.) we were in Moab so we had to put our excitement aside. But, then, as it turns out Doughbird was in fact open the last day (a Thursday) we were in town even though their website says they were closed. Hurray! The moral of the story is that their days open change and we found the sign on the door to be most reliable. Anyway, we arrived at Doughbird promptly at the opening time of 7am. I was wondering if the experience would live up to the hype and it did! The employees were very friendly and the donut cases were full. Struggling with indecision we got five donuts - glazed, chocolate glaze, pumpkin latte (I think), apple cider and a snickerdoodle crodough (a cross between a croissant and doughnut). The donuts were all good but I particularly enjoyed the crodough. It has thin layers with all a bit of a chew and crunch that made for a very delightful bite. The flavor was good but the texture was heavenly. Unfortunately we were departing Moab about lunch time so we didn't have a chance to try the chicken sandwiches but I hear they are really good. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place when trying to find what was good in MOAB. This place happens to be right next to where we were staying!!!! We came on Sunday and they were ready for . One downside of my experience was that I was following their Instagram to see the current menu and had an idea of what to order already, but because it was Halloween, they changed it up a little and Soo it didn't have all the ones I wanted. Also, not all the donut was ready, and we came 1 hour after they opened. I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the fritter and not sure when the matcha kit Kat came out but couldn't get that one either. Anyways, the donut: Hyped up crodough - worth it! One of the rare times when a cronut actually has the flakiness of a croissant and the flavor was spot on. You literally can hear the sound each time you bite Apple cinnamon fritter - one of the best fritter ever. It was crunchy, you see the fresh apple chunks in there and it was delicious Vegan chocolate donut - classic, but soooooo good. Surprisingly this was one of my favorite. It was soft, it wasn't too sweet it doesn't feel heavy. Pecan praline torte and spiced apple old fashioned - they got the texture down pretty well. I love the subtle crunch, the Frosting was a lot for Halloween but it wasn't too sweet so I ate a lot of it haha pecan praline could use more pecan praline though, no crunch or anything from that part Ube - standard, nothing special compared to the other donuts but still good. Moab, UT is lucky to have a place like this. The donuts here are AMAZING! They have a wide variety of unique flavors and combinations. This is not your average donut shop. They also serve up a mean hot chicken sando. The wife and I shared a hot chicken sando and a salted caramel cronut (resembles a doughnut and is made from croissant-like dough filled). The chicken sandwich was out of this world. The perfect amount of crunch, spice, juiciness, and heat. It was served on a bun that resembled a glazed donut, but without the glaze. Genius! The waffle fries it came with had a nice cajun seasoning on it. I enjoyed every bite. Drooling just thinking about it. Don't get me started with the salted caramel cronut. It was like two of my favorite breakfast pastries had a baby. Sweet and salty? Say less. The next morning we stopped by and grabbed a tiramisu filled donut and a key lime pie donut for our drive home. The tiramisu filled donut was so good. It reminded me of a malasada. When picking heat level, read the types of peppers used at each level -- if you can't eat that pepper irl, don't get that level heat. What a cute little joint! Got here a little early for the park and couldn't check in, so we decided to have an early lunch. Scrolling through Yelp, this one stood out the most! It's centered in the main town, so street parking. Wish this place had an indoor seating, but they have bench seating are outside. We ordered 3 donuts - glazed, cinnamon, and a key lime cronut, 2 chicken sandwiches! Mind you, we've just drove 5 hours to get to the Arches....we hungry! I had the medium chicken sandwich, while my boyfriend had a naked sandwich (no heat or any fix'ns). While we waited, boyfriend dove into the glazed donut. I knew, but I didn't know lol. I'm not sure if it's because I ordered the medium heat, but my chicken was a bit too salty for me. We like this place so much we went three times. The first time we tried the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was excellent. Just enough heat (you can choose whether you want mild or hot). And we got to donuts to wash it down with. Ha ha. The next morning prior to hiking, we got an apple fritter, salted caramel cronut, and a chocolate frosted. They were excellent. The following day after hiking, we got the chicken Platter with waffle, fries and slaw. It came with two pieces of chicken and plenty for us to share.
