I have only been to Moab a couple of times so I wasn't too familiar with Doughbird. However, they recently ranked super high on a top chicken restaurant list. I was excited to give them a go! DoughBird looks like it is made out of a backsplash. I love it. It is unique and stands out tremendously on Main Street in Moab. Since it is right on Main Street, parking can be a bit tricky. You either get lucky and parallel park right in front, or you have to park a little further away and walk. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a wide assortment of doughnuts. They had so many options to choose from! They were colorful and there were so many different flavors available! Unfortunately, I was here to try their chicken sandwich so I didn't end up trying any of their doughnuts. I ordered their chicken sandwich with the mild sauce and it came with a side of fries. It had pickles, a slaw, and a brioche bun. It didn't take too long for the chicken sandwich to come out. They don't really have anywhere inside to sit so pretty much everything is a to-go order. They have some seating off to the side of the building but that is weather permitting. If I am being 100% honest, the chicken patty was a bit thick for my liking. This is entirely personal preference, but I definitely enjoy more of a thin sandwich with breading. I think it is a ratio thing. The slaw was a bit overpowering with the flavor of the sandwich but the bun was absolutely delicious. For me, the star of the show was the waffle fries. They were the perfect amount of crunch and tasted so good. They paired wonderfully with the sauce that was given on the side. The people working were super nice and it was a fun, open atmosphere on the inside. I liked my visit and I hope to be back to try some of their doughnuts sometime! read more

Who would have thought to put fried chicken between unsweetened doughnuts. Apparently these guys did and now I wish that every fried chicken restaurant did it. The chicken was great and very crunchy. The employees were so friendly, they got the food out quick, and offered free samples of a very delicious churro. The building itself was quaint and had great vibes. The only slight problem was the seating, but I would never sacrifice vibes for seating. Would one hundred percent recommend to anyone is Moab. read more

Great selection of fresh donuts! The spot is clean, and bright. They have outdoor benches on the alleyway. Service is top tier too. Your server will tell you that your donut selection is their favorite! But really, who needs convincing with the stellar donut selection here?! I had the salted caramel crodough. The caramel itself was very runny and tasted more like butterscotch with salt than caramel, and leaves this weird synthetic taste in the mouth after consumption. The croissant dough was well laminated, crunchy, and the fry was not greasy. All in all would skip this flavor. I also tried my friend's pumpkin cheesecake donut and it was spot on. My friends had mixed opinions overall. read more

Cutest, best donut shop and it's family owned . Has to be top 2 for me in UT. Kind staff, great environment, cute merch. The salted maple donut is absolutely insane. The salted caramel cronut is also bomb, along with the crumb coffee cake and churro cronut. Went back before we left because it was so good. Iced chai was also good! read more

Solid donuts and fried chicken, waffle fries with fry sauce. The flavors were sometimes off (maple was too salty, frosting sometimes too sweet) and not super inventive or special, but is all around very good if you want a donut. Don't order the chicken too early online or they might make it super early and it'll get soggy (what happened to us) but I'd like to imagine if we ate the chicken fresh it would have been superb. Well seasoned for sure. It's not likely going to be the best donut or fried chicken you've ever had but it'll be up there as say, top five, at least for me. Worth at least a trip when you're here! read more

Some of the best fried chicken and donuts ever. Coming from the southeast, I've had a lot of great fried chicken in my life, but Doughbird competes against some of the best! Their donut selection is mouthwatering - I got the oreo cheesecake and oh my goodness. So good. My husband and I split the fried chicken sandwich w/ mild spice - and we didn't know it would come with waffle fries, but it did, and we were overjoyed. The waffle fries shouldn't be overlooked - they were dang good, but the chicken of course was the star of the show, packed between 2 sweet, donut-like buns and fried to perfection. Just yum. Glad I don't live in Moab or my health would be in major trouble with this spot in town! read more

The whole experience at DoughBird is fun - the donuts are so aesthetically pleasing all lined up, the staff was super friendly (and even the customers when I was there!), and the donuts and coffee are excellent. This was my favorite iced latte I had in my time in Moab. I got the vegan blueberry, vegan brown sugar, and French toast donuts. I don't have vegan donuts that good in St. Louis! I wish I wasn't states away, this place is stellar. read more

Very unique place serving both deliciously perfect doughnuts and massive flaky chicken sandwiches! We got two doughnuts, chicken sandwiches, and a coffee to go and everything was delicious. The chicken sandwiches were huge! And the waffle fries were delightful too. Everyone working there was pleasant and helpful. The shop was a little small for how busy it was and the seating outside wasn't shaded and it was warm so we ate in the car since we couldn't wait to dig in. Highly recommend visiting! read more

The donut shop was excellent--fresh, tasty donuts, warm and helpful service, and a cozy atmosphere that made it a great stop.

Donuts were delicious, but the wait for a coffee was on the longer side (25 minutes). Next time I would go just for the donuts.

Doughbird is a small establishment that specializes in coffee, donuts, and even fried chicken sandwiches. We came here early in the morning so I only got to try the donuts. There were so many to choose from! They had many unique flavors and vegan options too. We got the classic glazed donut and I think a cinnamon french toast donut. They were so soft, fluffy, and fresh. We enjoyed the texture of the donuts, which was almost addictive. I preferred the classic glazed because the cinnamon french toast was on the sweeter side. This is great for sharing because the donuts are pretty big! read more

Donuts looked good however what we purchased was way too sweet! So sweet we couldn't finish !!

This place can't be passed up on your trip to Moab! I got the apple fritter and their salted caramel crodough. I liked both, but I like the apple fritter the most because of their chunks of apples inside. Their donuts are fresh and crunchy! They also have vegan donuts! Which I want to try on my next visit. It's a great little guilty pleasure treat before a good day of hiking. If there is a line, don't be dissuaded, the staff are really kind and speedy in getting customers in and out. read more

Got the salted caramel crodough; best donut I've ever had! It had a crunch but wasn't dry. Service was quick as well

Unique flavors of donuts that hit the spot after a long hike or bike ride! Tons of options, and line moves quickly. Do not miss this place!

Being from the southeast, I certainly was not expecting to find the best fried chicken sandwich of my life in Moab, Utah. But I found it - it's here, and it will knock your socks off. Stuffed between two donut halves and drenched in medium heat (spice levels from none to hot are available), this sandwich is packed with flavor. The pickles and red cabbage slaw plus the perfect breading make for an unforgettable meal. The fries truly didn't need to be that good, but they were also out of this world. Imagine Chick-fil-A waffle fries but with Arby's seasoning... then make them 10x better and pair it with a dank dipping sauce. To make DoughBird even more of a haven, they have amazing coffee and donuts. So many flavors of both to choose from. I got a coconut iced latte, and my husband picked out a pumpkin chai donut for later. Picking out a donut was super difficult... I mean, just look at them. DoughBird 100% needs to be on your Moab itinerary. Don't skip it. Amazing food and coffee, friendly service, and a cool atmosphere - what more could you want? read more

Bottom Line: Delicious doughnuts in the morning and fried chicken sandwiches in the afternoon. Of all of the eateries we wanted to try while on our trip out west my husband and I were the most excited to try Doughbird. For many months we were excited to try it but then we learned it would be closed all three days (Tues. through Thurs.) we were in Moab so we had to put our excitement aside. But, then, as it turns out Doughbird was in fact open the last day (a Thursday) we were in town even though their website says they were closed. Hurray! The moral of the story is that their days open change and we found the sign on the door to be most reliable. Anyway, we arrived at Doughbird promptly at the opening time of 7am. I was wondering if the experience would live up to the hype and it did! The employees were very friendly and the donut cases were full. Struggling with indecision we got five donuts - glazed, chocolate glaze, pumpkin latte (I think), apple cider and a snickerdoodle crodough (a cross between a croissant and doughnut). The donuts were all good but I particularly enjoyed the crodough. It has thin layers with all a bit of a chew and crunch that made for a very delightful bite. The flavor was good but the texture was heavenly. Unfortunately we were departing Moab about lunch time so we didn't have a chance to try the chicken sandwiches but I hear they are really good. Fried chicken starts at 11am. read more

The perfect doughnut and coffee spot in Moab! They serve fried chicken too, which I would definitely have gotten had it not been 9 am! I snagged six, don't judge. I'm the kind of person that goes feral with a box of doughnuts to myself. I'll try one bite of this one, one bite of that one, a lick of frosting off another, and go back for seconds on all of them later. The doughnuts here were creative, fluffy, and of course, delicious. My favorite was the maple mascarpone cheesecake. Yeah, you heard that right. Second favorite was the moose tracks, and the birthday cake was a close third, and was perfect after being chilled in the fridge for a bit. A special note goes out to the staff as well. The cashier told us candidly that they loved working at Doughbird, and that it was genuinely a fun place to be. That's how you know it's a good business to support. Doughbird is a MUST in Moab!! read more

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place when trying to find what was good in MOAB. This place happens to be right next to where we were staying!!!! We came on Sunday and they were ready for . One downside of my experience was that I was following their Instagram to see the current menu and had an idea of what to order already, but because it was Halloween, they changed it up a little and Soo it didn't have all the ones I wanted. Also, not all the donut was ready, and we came 1 hour after they opened. I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the fritter and not sure when the matcha kit Kat came out but couldn't get that one either. Anyways, the donut: Hyped up crodough - worth it! One of the rare times when a cronut actually has the flakiness of a croissant and the flavor was spot on. You literally can hear the sound each time you bite Apple cinnamon fritter - one of the best fritter ever. It was crunchy, you see the fresh apple chunks in there and it was delicious Vegan chocolate donut - classic, but soooooo good. Surprisingly this was one of my favorite. It was soft, it wasn't too sweet it doesn't feel heavy. Pecan praline torte and spiced apple old fashioned - they got the texture down pretty well. I love the subtle crunch, the Frosting was a lot for Halloween but it wasn't too sweet so I ate a lot of it haha pecan praline could use more pecan praline though, no crunch or anything from that part Ube - standard, nothing special compared to the other donuts but still good. Overall, this is a pretty nice place to check out when in MOAB. I highly recommend coming here for your donuts. I wish I could stay longer to try their chicken sandwich but we had to to head out early... read more

Fried chicken and donuts? Sign me up. This place doesn't stay open very late so we had to rearrange our plans to be able to make it here. My husband and I split: - Dark Meat Plate - Fried Chicken Sandwich - Salted Caramel Crodough - Blueberry Cobbler Donut - Blueberry Lemon Pie Crodough - Lavender Lemonade The quality of the fried chicken was fantastic. We ordered it all medium. I'm pretty sure they gave us the wrong spice level on the dark meat plate because I love spicy food and it was so spicy it about killed me. You've been warned. I would have loved it if it wasn't that spicy. The donuts and crodoughs were fantastic. I've always heard them called cronuts, but whatever they call them, you should get some. I would definitely return for the donuts and I would come back and figure out how to get fried chicken that isn't insanely spicy. read more

Doughbird in Moab serves up a raspberry lemonade doughnut that is nothing short of inspired--a doughy cloud with a bright citrus tang, just the right balance to make you want another. The mocha was strong and pleasantly unsweet, more coffee than candy, which is always the mark of a grown-up café. Service was friendly, the space is airy and bright, and everything felt as clean as a new penny. A proper stop in Moab for those who appreciate their pastries with personality and their coffee with conviction. read more

Rating this for the donuts and service (came too early so chicken wasn't available). the selection is huge, the donuts are light and airy (not cakey/doughy). the combinations are creative and some eat more like a decadent dessert (probably best to share or split over 2 meals). We were kicking ourselves where we wished we ordered 2 each to try these creations of warm, pillowy, flavorful treats. Must go! read more

Every single time we have been here the food and service has been excellent! We usually come here with friends before a broadway show and get a pizza, salad and a cocktail. YES! DOUNUTS WERE SO GOOD! It was more dense than a typical donut and I loved that. It's Doughbird! Still light and airy! Chicken was amazing so yum! The guy said get the chicken plate for more chicken and it was so good! Got HOT because we love spicy and it was heat! Burned so good with our dounuts! Lots of fries and a pickle spear so perfect! More flavor than anything else in Moab! And customer service has been a problem here in Moab but the young man who was the cashier was so nice and polite. 10/10 for that man! Very helpful staff. I like cake doughnuts either unfrosted, powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar coated. I ordered a plain cake doughnut and a plain Cronut. Both were surprisingly greasy. Which usually means the frying fat was not quite at the right temperature. I expected a thin fried crispy but not greasy exterior and a pillowy interior. Cronut very flaky like a croissant but the doughnut part of the creation tasted like raised doughnut dough. Overall OK but I was expecting them to be the best ever. El Paso , TX still holds that spot. read more

We wanted a quick bite for breakfast on our last morning in Moab and walked from our hotel over to DoughBird. They have so many options, it was hard to choose but we enjoyed our selection. DoughBird - Mmmm, donuts ... - Chicken Shop Near Me - Moab, Utah

Moab, UT is lucky to have a place like this. The donuts here are AMAZING! They have a wide variety of unique flavors and combinations. This is not your average donut shop. They also serve up a mean hot chicken sando. The wife and I shared a hot chicken sando and a salted caramel cronut (resembles a doughnut and is made from croissant-like dough filled). The chicken sandwich was out of this world. The perfect amount of crunch, spice, juiciness, and heat. It was served on a bun that resembled a glazed donut, but without the glaze. Genius! The waffle fries it came with had a nice cajun seasoning on it. I enjoyed every bite. Drooling just thinking about it. Don't get me started with the salted caramel cronut. It was like two of my favorite breakfast pastries had a baby. Sweet and salty? Say less. The next morning we stopped by and grabbed a tiramisu filled donut and a key lime pie donut for our drive home. The tiramisu filled donut was so good. It reminded me of a malasada. The key lime pie donut was too sweet and dry for me. Please give this place a try if you're ever in the area. I highly recommend it! read more

This is probably our fault but I felt the day old donuts were more than a day old, lol. Even if fresh, I don't feel the flavors were interesting enough to justify a $3 price tag. There's pretty much just a variety of chocolate and vanilla (yeast, cake, old fashioned), and various types of flavored sugars, which are too subtle to taste (for the coffee one we got). "Fancy" donut shops never really live up to expectations for me, I'd rather just go to a mom and pop shop. read more

Their donuts are SO good, I'd drive all the way to Moab for more! Well, that's a slight exaggeration but not too far off. Crispy on the outside, soft and moist inside. Incredible. LEGIT. Amazing fried chicken sandwich. Exceeded expectations. When picking heat level, read the types of peppers used at each level -- if you can't eat that pepper irl, don't get that level heat. I had level #5 and it had a good kick, just a bit more than I could handle. Next time, I would ask for extra extra Doughbirds sauce. Helps balance the heat, and tastes great. Only downside? Only serves chicken between 11a-2p, which means you can't get there at 7 and grab a snack to take out with you hiking. Would love morning chicken breakfast option, guys! read more

What a cute little joint! Got here a little early for the park and couldn't check in, so we decided to have an early lunch. Scrolling through Yelp, this one stood out the most! It's centered in the main town, so street parking. Wish this place had an indoor seating, but they have bench seating are outside. Small coffee, donut, and chicken place....what an odd and unique combo! The donuts smelled so good and it's the first thing you see! Order the donuts first, then comes coffee and chicken. We ordered 3 donuts - glazed, cinnamon, and a key lime cronut, 2 chicken sandwiches! Mind you, we've just drove 5 hours to get to the Arches....we hungry! I had the medium chicken sandwich, while my boyfriend had a naked sandwich (no heat or any fix'ns). While we waited, boyfriend dove into the glazed donut. It was very soft and a good amount of chewiness. Tasted really good. Since there were no indoor seats and it was way too hot to sit outside without shade, we took it back to the hotel lobby. Boy were we in it for a surprise! The sandwich smelled great and tasted even better. It came with a side of crisscut fries and sauce, at least for me. When you get the slaw and pickles on it, it does get quite messy. It was dripping all over! It tasted really yummy, but I think it overpowered the donut bun. Yep, the bun was a plain donut! I knew, but I didn't know lol. I'm not sure if it's because I ordered the medium heat, but my chicken was a bit too salty for me. My boyfriend definitely didn't know what to think about it, because he tasted the chicken and the donut. If he knew, or we knew, it was a donut bun he wouldn't have ordered 3 donuts! Ha! We literally ate our donut chicken sandwich and all 3 donuts. Fatso!!! The cinnamon wasn't his fav, but not bad. I thoroughly enjoyed the key lime cronut. Wish I ate it when it was warm, but it was a good early dessert before a hike in a few hours. Overall, I think we'll come back for the donuts and coffee. The sandwich was a bit much for us. Maybe we could've shared one. Until next time! read more
