My experience with him is limited but he's probably up there in the top 10%. Look up his background. It's impressive. He's currently an assistant professor at Hackensack, which is the best hospital in NJ. This means a lot. I received 2 epidural injections from him because of chronic neck pain, jaw pain, and headaches. A neuralgia that's been plaguing me for years. I've seen numerous doctors over this, and he's probably had the best insight out of all of them. At the surgical center, the other doctor and staff made glowing statements about him. They stated he was the best doctor there. Medical office. With nurses, I think it depends on who end up with. It's really a hit or miss. This office has generally a good temperament though. Not the best, not the worst. One was pushy. Go to him if you have any pain management issues. He's really good. Mention that you've read this Yelp review and others. I think doctors like to hear their reputation is spreading, and it makes them even more helpful.

They even spoke with the doctor I said I didn't feel comfortable seeing again and the other female doctor about my situation and they decided that I had to keep the same doctor. I understand each office can have their own policies but this one seems a little extreme. Just a warning: Westcare Medical Primary Care places doctors ego's over patient's comfort.

All calls are directed to an answering service and they do not call back. If you have a billing issue, you can not get in touch with anyone. I had to dial the emergency prompt in order to get someone to call me back. Even at that, they don't call back. I went in for testing and they did not call me back for over two weeks with the results. The office is completely disorganized and I don't even trust them with my records so I'm leaving. She always seems eager to end the appointment and she does not care if she leaves a patient feeling hopeless. I have been working my ass off getting doctors to replace her because I am so excited to not work with this lazy, mean doctor and I know the feeling is mutual. dr. I discovered Dr. Gershowitz by way of my Uncle. I know strange but my Uncle worked for Montefiore Medical Center for almost 25 years so when it came to doctors he always had the best resources. I've been going to Dr. Gershowitz for a few years now and after some pretty crappy OBGYN experiences, she is the best. Nice bedside manner and gets down to business. Prepares and explains everything she is going to do. Is thorough in her questioning and seems genuinely concerned about her patients well being. She will always give her honest opinion as a doctor, not as someone promoting a medication. Things to know: -The office line is usually busy. Keep trying. - Expect for it to be hard to get an appointment. When you call be prepared that your appointment may be scheduled weeks or even months in advance. -They don't take debit or credit card payments under $20 so if your co-pay is less, bring cash. -Dr. Gershowitz is perpetually late and sometimes disappears after your appointment even if she wants to talk to you. Be patient, schedule at least 60-90 minutes in your own calendar for your visit. Another secret tip, Dr. Gershowitz is quite liberal with BC samples. A nice plus.

And Dr. Gershowitz used to be very warm and seemed to care about your problems, but I went in a few months ago concerned about a potential STD and she brushed off my concerns saying my symptoms were "most likely" a result of my birth control. I insisted on being tested anyway, and luckily although they did come back negative for STDs, I did have a bacterial infection that would have gotten worse if I didn't treat it. It just frustrates me that my doctor, who has supposedly been in this field for a long time, would downplay legitimate concerns and symptoms. I felt like she was in such a rush to see other patients that my concerns were being treated like I just wanted attention. Then when I called for a follow-up appointment, I was told the next available was over 2 months away. Maybe this is just a NYC thing, but it's totally ridiculous to me that someone should have to wait TWO MONTHS to take care of their health. It's great she's so popular, but maybe she should limit taking new patients so she can actually take care of the ones she already has. I'm finding another gyno that actually has time for me.

Excuse me, I did not know that we need to wait for the condition to accelerate to the level where it prevents me from breathing. I thought the point of monitoring your health problems is to prevent those problems from developing further or catch them if they become worse. 3. Got my blood work back. So, if there anything that is wrong with you blood results-something has lower or higher level that needed, his response is "go ask another doctor, maybe he recommends something". Aren't you a doctor and can prescribe me something to stabilize the level??? I am expecting you to tell me that you are recommending me XYZ. On a positive note-he is nice, his medical assistant is nice, he returns your phone calls promptly, and the front desc seems professional. But in the end, I would like a little more attention to my health and respect for my time.
