The two gentlemen who greeted us were really wonderful. They explained everything we needed to know about the hotel, the food and surrounding attractions. Our bartender was wonderful as well and he suggested great barbecue places in town. The rooms are super spacious. They even have a little kitchen with a huge fridge and a microwave. These sweets are really outstanding and everything was perfect except I found few long hairs in my towels and around the bathroom. Since I'm a bald man, it was slightly off-putting.

insane to market and attempt to present yourself as a luxury hotel, only to fail so hard in practice. the staff is lovely and accommodating, which is great because they have plenty to accommodate for. disgusting, worn toilets. bloody shower curtains. you really get it all here at the doubletree suits folks. save yourself the $$$ spent in valet and stay at the locations outside of downtown austin. this place is a scam.

There was a complaint a month ago about chipped head boards.... Still not updated.

We stayed for one night in a suite. The suite was a good size and I liked the separate kitchen area. For the price and the normally high standards of double tree I was very disappointed in the bed frame that was crumbling apart onto the bed. I felt like I was in a run down motel because of this. Other reviews mentioned this and the manager responded they would look into fixing so I'm disappointed with the lack of action here. Parking is a ridiculous $50 a night and you have to do valet. Add in tip and you are really spending a lot on parking. We checked in 20 minutes early and the front desk didn't even look if our room was available. They just said "we don't do early check ins." Based on other reviews, this hotel seems very strict on policies at the expense of customer service. We just had a long plane ride with a toddler and now we have to sit in the lobby and wait for a measly 20 minutes when the room was probably ready?! What I did like: Our suite was spacious Pretty good downtown location Valet attendants were fast and very friendly Provided a pack n play

WARNING!!! Do not stay at this hotel!!!! My Wife and I decided to spend Father's Day weekend in Austin. We're Gold members and a part of the "Friends and Family" program. We frequent a different Hilton brand hotel at least once a month while traveling to several states for recreation. So far we have 19 stays with well over 30 more planned for the year. We drove over 3hours from the Dallas area for this stay. Once we arrived, we attempted to park, but we were told that the ENTIRE facility is valet parking for $51 a night. The young man directed us to the parking garage across the street and said we could use that for self-parking. When we got to the garage, we were notified that it costs $20 per day to park there. We decided to go back to the and see if the disabled parking spot was open. We are both disabled U.S. Military Veterans with injuries on our lower extremities along with other severe disabilities, so after a long drive it's painful to walk even a few feet to the building. When we returned to the hotel parking lot, the disabled parking spot was open so we parked in it. This time, a different young man from valet named John walked up and told us that we can't park there unless we pay the $51. To my understanding, the hotel is not only required to provide accessible parking, but they cannot charge a disabled person for using it. I notified the front desk clerk of the issue and he walked me to the valet counter to let them know I could park there without a fee. Then John argued the point and said the manager requires them to charge for that spot. We decided to leave and have dinner while we research the validity of their policy. When we returned, I parked in the disabled spot once again. The other attendant came over to get our keys and give us a valet pass. While the young man was writing my information on the check-in sheet, John decided to stand over him in an attempt to intimidate us. I let John know that his help was not needed, as the other gentleman had the situation under control and could write my information down on his own. Apparently John thought that was funny and laughed at me while refusing to leave us alone. John stood there like a bodyguard the entire time and then followed us to the door. I notified the Assistant Manager of his actions and went to my room to finally get some rest. Once we got in the room and prepared to go to bed, we pulled the sheets back and found blood stains on the sheets where my Wife would be sleeping. I had to call down and request new bedding. When the Assistant Manager arrived with the new set of sheets, he just dropped them off and left. We had to make the bed ourselves as if we were employed by Hilton. If we had the energy, we would just drive home tonight and not even attempt to sleep in this outdated, overpriced hotel room. I should mention that we were in this room because the first room we were placed in had a broken sink, so we had to move to a different floor. I requested a call from management, but I suspect they will try to cover this situation up without notifying him. We did not put our lives on the line for this country, only to be treated like second class citizens! We are considering taking our business to a different hotel chain after the way we were treated today. We are also actively seeking legal assistance for this matter, so if there are any lawyers reading this please feel free to reach out to us.

Wallpaper peeling back had mold behind it.

I do feel bad leaving a 2 rating but the feedback is important. For the record, I did speak with someone at the desk regarding the mold in my bathroom but there are other issues to address: Only 1 elevator was working. I heard from other guests who stayed here previously that it's been like this for years? Anyway, there were lots of people staying here for a conference so at peak times coming and going there was quite a crowd waiting for the solo elevator. The carpet in my room was crunchy when walking on it. Made me wonder if it had gotten wet previously and now is damaged underneath. I didnt walk to walk in there without shoes on. The headboards were very worn. The fridge in my room had crumbs on the shelves when I arrived. The bathroom in my room needed major attention. The sink had mold around the overflow drain. There was Kleenex stuck in the bathroom ceiling fan. The shower head fixture plate was no longer attached to the wall. The curved shower rod caused the curtain to settle in the middle therefore allowing water to spray out of the sides all over the floor - probably the reason for the mold behind the wallpaper that was severely peeling back next to the toilet. The tub also was leaking when the faucet was off. The pool area was extremely underwhelming. An old hot tub out of service, covered with plywood. Limited seating, but there only few people were there, and there were pool towels available but it made me wonder if they were turned over often enough and how long they'd been sitting outside. This hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. I try to stick to Hilton brands but would definitely try another hotel if I'm back in Austin.

May have some mold issues. Certainly paint.

Lots of cool features. Beautiful bathroom design, loved the whole design concept. Lovely Marshall speakers. The cons: Our first room was on the 3rd floor. Upon walking in, it smelled very musty. After about 5 mins I had to step out in the balcony to get fresh air (tho it was 95F outside). I sent my husband to see if we could change rooms, in the meanwhile, I was getting a little nauseous back in the room. The hotel kindly changed our rooms. 2nd room was much better. But as the night went on, we realized it was the AC unit that was blowing the musty/mildewy air. I woke up several times because of the smell. The second night we just turned off the AC and it was better. The hotel location is ok. We walked to P Terrys to try their burgers and there were a few sketchy people along the way.

We also dined at Nido, the hotel's restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, and it was definitely a highlight. Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. A perfect choice if you're looking to celebrate something special or simply treat yourself to a high-end experience.

Location, comfortable bed, good shower, clean, the room gets nice and cold, etc. We stayed in a budget hotel the first night in Austin, and while it got the job done, the upgrade here was very apparent from the moment we walked in. Two possible flags against the hotel were prevented on my end. 1) When I am driving to a destination, I bring my pillows from home. Why risk bad hotel pillows when you can just throw yours in a large duffel? I'm glad I did this because the pillows didn't look great, but maybe I'm just picky about pillows. 2) Parking is $60/night. I found parking that was $30 total for two nights, two blocks away. Easy decision to save $90. Download SpotHero if you don't already have it. It's amazing. Bonus: despite not parking on-site, the valet guys were great about letting us park temporarily to load and unload. It was really easy and there was space for it. This will definitely be my go-to Austin hotel, moving forward.

Our room had two double beds and was huge - perfect for three girls sharing a space. It had a lounge area with a couch as well as a desk. The bathroom was also spacious and nice with good shower products. One thing I will say is that the air conditioning is VERY loud. I shared a bed with my friend that wasn't directly in front of it, but our other friend in the "tundra" was pretty uncomfortable during the night because it was both cold and loud. Other than that, I enjoyed this hotel. They are so kind to give you free water every time you walk in, which is great!

We went down to get a different room, and then got stuck in the elevator for several minutes. We pressed the emergency button and it was left unanswered for over 10 minutes before we finally got the elevator to return to the first floor and open the doors. We told the front desk and rather than receive an ounce of sympathy, we were told that other people were stuck in the only other elevator for 30 minutes earlier. When we first checked in, the couple in front of us received a number of tips from the front desk including where and when to get coffee. They also got their rose check-in, which seems to be a highlight of the hotel. However, when we reached the desk we received no information and no rose. We weren't even offered or asked. In fact, the desk staff seemed more interested in replenishing the rose they were giving to other people than addressing the long line of people waiting. Friends of ours, who were also in town for the wedding, had reserved a room with two beds and were given a room with one bed and a cot. I've stayed in hotels across the world and never have I been made to feel so small and unimportant. Two stars are for the shower and location. Won't be staying here again if I ever get a chance to visit Austin again.

We had a clean and tidy suite on the first level. Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not.
