Just an honest & straight forward picture of the home and suggestions for areas to address now and in the future. We also ordered a sewer & termite inspection which came back along with the full inspection report including video & photos of all. It was helpful to have an actual accurate assessment of what we were getting into instead of reading whatever the agents or lender want to hear. This is the only step in the process that should remain pure (no kickbacks to real estate buddies for giving "easy reports & a fast close") & Doubetree did not disappoint. My sister and I needed to do a pre listing home inspection. Our realtor recommended DoubleTree because she trusts them and has worked with them for some time. We called and were able to get an inspection within just a couple of days. DoubleTree also arranged to have a plumber come and do a sewer inspection at the same time. Brad came out and he was very thorough. He looked at the house inside and out, from roof to the floors. Turning things on/off making sure they were operational. Brad took many pictures as he walked through. After he was finished, he gave us a complete report and showed us pictures of everything he discovered. Happily there were only a couple of items that needed immediate attention and the sewer is looking good! My sister and I were pleased since it's a 60+ year old home. Update to Marc: We did have three professional hvac companies come out. So for the inspector to say the unit was inoperable was wrong. Both of our units are still operational but installed like none of these companies have ever seen before. But thanks for the response I guess Being new to the area our realtor recommended this company. Looking back at the inspection report I truly believe it was a waste of money. While Bryan was nice and punctual on the day of the inspection he didn't tell me anything new. All of his notes I could have looked around myself and noticed. In the entire report it just says that he would recommend a professional to take a second look. Gee thanks for the advice. Almost a year later with issues coming up in the house I truly wonder how he missed noting some of the obvious problems. I'm sure he looks at hundreds of homes a year and many furnaces. How did he miss the fact that ours was ancient and installed completely wrong. Instead the only note on the inspection report was that there is some condensation on the furnace. Maybe we caught him on a bad day and he wasn't paying attention to a lot of the bigger details or maybe he was too busy chatting with our agent but I would not recommend this specific employee with this company. I never worked with anyone else from here so can't speak for them. read more

So, incase anyone doesn't quite understand the job of an inspector? It's their job to find issues with a property. On a property with an age of 65+ years they're going to be issues. My client hired Doubletree for their services and thank goodness. They were able to find issue that we would have never discovered on our own. Eric does do an overly thorough job on each home inspection and cites out every little thing that is wrong with a home. Might seem exaggerated at times, but that's what you want in a home inspector. Better to err on the cautious side than to be surprised by something later on. That's why I recommend him to my clients. As an agent, sometimes I do cringe wondering what he has uncovered, but I know I am doing my clients a proper service- by getting them all the details and leaving them with no surprises on their new home. I am a little surprised by anyone who would think Eric overly nit-picked a home. Sometimes the truth hurts! Eric does all of his own inspections and is extremely busy due to his positive reputation in the business. He will still find time for you and answers his cell phone to answer your questions anytime. I have worked with other inspectors in the past, but have recommended Eric for 5 years now, and don't see a need to make a change again. Some inspectors like to give a glowing reviews of a house, even when it has issues. Others just try to beat each house up and make it look bad.
