We came here for a spa weekend and were quite disappointed with the place for various reasons.
1. Poor quality products / missing items from bedroom
- On arrival, our bedroom did not have bedroom slippers and when they were delivered, they were poor in quality.
- The bathrobes are of equally bad quality and had a really bad smell - suggest that the hotel change their drycleaning company.
- There were no hair dryers in the room.
2. Poor service
- We rang the reception to report the missing hair dryer in the room and the reception insisted that it would be somewhere in the room as many guests were also unable to find it even though one was in the room. We replied saying we were sure it wasn't in the room. They then sent someone from reception to the room (without a hair dryer) to check if one is in fact in the room. The person from reception knocked once and immediately tried to force open the door - the door was fortunately latched and he was unable to open it. Notwithstanding that, he was still trying to force it open. My boyfriend went to open the door and luckily I had a towel wrapped around myself. I can't imagine how horrible it might have been if I had been changing and a guy from reception simply knocked once and opened the door!!! We were shocked beyond words. Anyway, after "verifying" that the hair dryer was not in the room, he went off to fetch us one.
- Later in the evening, we went to the bar at the restaurant. The service was incredilbly slow. All the waitresses were going back and forth from the bar serving drinks etc. One guy at the bar was making coffee (the slowest we have ever seen anyone make coffee) and nobody asked us (even when the waitresses got back to the bar) what we wanted.
- At night when we wanted to watch a movie from the movie on demand channel, the movie channel wasn't working (even though our credit card was already authorised). We rang reception again who sent someone to our room after a long time to check and after checking the channel in our room, he said he wanted to check the channels in other rooms to see if all rooms were affected. We waited for a long time and were finally given a call by reception notifying us that there might be something wrong with the system and they needed to ring the supplier. Again, after waiting for a long time, we got a call back and were told that the channel should now be working which it finally did.
3. Average massage and food
- The food at the restaurant was not great, fairly average.
- The massage was again not great. The bed on which we laid on was rather flimsy and the "hole" through which you put your face was really weird. They also put "toilet paper" type paper on the bed and when I laid on it, it started tearing away.
Overall we would not recommend this place especially for the full price we paid. read more
