Great value for the money. They let us check in early around 1145 am.
Urban restaurant downstairs was ok. The chicken noodles were delicious, the salmon was good, and the truffle potatoes were amazing. The service.. not so much. The server did not put in one of our drinks, and never came back to the table to see how we were doing. We had just come in from a flight, and would have had quite a few more drinks. We had to flag down a different server to get our bill. From there we proceeded to the bar, where we were attended to properly and we gave her a generous tip.
We decided we wanted to relax again the next day, and we tried to book another night, but the manager told us they were very busy and to come back in the morning.
In the morning we came back, and we were informed that our room rate had changed. It was now about £50 more than we paid for the first night!! This was a Tuesday AM, so no reason it should have been close to £150. I believe that day British airways pilots were striking, and so there was probably a lot of fliers stranded, and the hotel jacked up their prices, which is a common, but still explorative practice.
We were sad to leave but we did, for another hotel closer to the center of the city.
I'm still giving it four stars, because the room was cozy and SO clean and very modern. Wished we could have stayed another night. read more
