Comfortable and clean rooms. Quiet, but I was on one of the top floors. Difficult to access - only from Route 4 north. Getting in was OK, but leaving in the morning puts you in stopped traffic from the GWB backup. That was the only exit to the complex. In-house restaurants OK but pricey. Shuttle service OK, but slow if they are already out with someone. Woke up last morning to no hot water. Mentioned it to the desk staff when leaving, and they said someone was on the way to fix it. Sounded like it wasn't an uncommon occurrence. No offer of refund or extra points to make up for an ice cold shower. read more

Positives: the hotel location is close to the George Washington Bridge, bringing you to Manhattan within 15 minutes (without traffic). Negatives: I've had great experiences at most DoubleTree hotels but this one was subpar. We stayed for two nights; the room was missing a shampoo bottle and the "Do Not Disturb" sign when we checked in and we had to call housekeeping to refresh our room when it was still unmade at 5 pm on the second day. It also felt like we were being rushed out when someone from housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 am to ask what time we were checking out. Oh, and we didn't receive that cookie you receive when checking in but then again we arrived at about 2 am so I guess that's understandable. read more

Don't stay here if you want to get charged triple the price of a 2 night stay! My husband and I recently stayed here for 2 nights and discovered, upon check out, that the hotel charged us triple the amount of a 2 night stay. When we inquired at the front desk, we were told that the extra charges were for incidentals! WTF!!!! Who charges an extra 4 nights for incidentals???? I asked to speak with the general manager and was told that he was off that day. So, there's no one to assist him??? We called the main 1-800 line to complain and to get answers and we were patched in to the hotel. We just got off the phone with the corporate office. During the call we were told that our account should be credited within 72 hours. I will stay on top of this to see if further action needs to be taken. Again, think twice before booking this hotel. read more

We had a lovely stay at Hilton Doubletree bringing our daughter back to school but it was also a bit of a miracle. We were greeted with a warm cookies and a pool that was open until 12 including the Jacuzzi which we welcomed. But the miracle was in the housekeeping. My husband left a very sentimental cross /silver at the pool and it got entangled among the towels. The housekeeping staff, upon hearing of its loss , I worked with one another to figure out where it could be andwere able to deliver it to us. He has worn this cross daily for 40 years. In particular Zoveida went to great lengths. THANK YOU!!!!!!! We are so appreciative of the help we received. read more

Not sure who decided to build a hotel here but they should be prosecuted. It is situated right on the freeway and the only way to access it is by driving East-bound on the one-way towards the George Washinton Bridge. If the traffic is bad (as it seems to be for 80% of the day) then you will have to sit in the bridge traffic just to get to the hotel. As a result taxi drivers hate the place - especially when they have to sit in the same traffic to subsequently get away from the hotel! There is no pedestrian access to this hotel at all unless you like climbing over freeway barriers and walking contraflow. Great foresight and planning. So you need to have a car to go anywhere beyond the hotel and that means you are back in the traffic. There are no shops or restaurants near the hotel either. It is effectively an island. The hotel itself is not too bad. It has two restaurants (Italian and Japanese) and the buffet breakfast is not bad. Internet access was a problem. It was fine for the first few days but then became very slow and the front desk staff could not offer any solutions. I tried the 3rd party suppliers support number but it was out of service. I therefore had to keep going to the lobby to check email as the access in the room was so patchy. Another silly oversight is that there are no drinking water coolers anywhere in the hotel bar the one at the bottom to several flights of stairs in the gym/pool area. I always refill my water bottles and like to keep hydrated so I had to scurry up and down in the lifts and stairs to keep filling up my water bottles. Housekeeping put a small (ie the smallest) bottle of water in your room but this is just enough to make a coffee with. Each floor has a vending machine selling the usual High Fructose Corn Syrup crap and an ice machine - but no drinking water cooler. Staff are nice but you get the feeling they wish they worked somewhere else - and I know how they feel! If you stay here then make sure you have a car. If you can afford it then stay down on the NJ shoreline at the Homewood Suites where you have walking access to all the restaurants, bars, cinemas etc and the NJ-Manhattan ferries are just 5mins down the road. read more

Overall, had a very positive stay at the double tree in fort lee. Loved the 10.00 ( one way ) shuttle into the city and not having to deal with driving my car into Manhattan. Is nice that they had free parking. Very comfortable bed, good coffee in the room. This hotel is definitely showing some wear though and the walls are fairly thin. read more

At $200 bucks through Hotwire... this place is somewhat expensive! It is an excellent hotel and you cannot beat its location... you turn out of the parking lot and you are at the tolls for the George Washington bridge! A sushi bar in the lobby?! Pool?! Jacuzzi?! A lobby bar with an experienced bartender?! I hate to spend that much money on a work night crash pad... but at least this place delivers the goods. Service was friendly and helpful as well! read more

Stayed here for an entire week on the 14th floor. Worth the price because there is complimentary breakfast in the morning every day, which is pretty decent quality, and beverages all day every M-H. The host during breakfast most days is a wonderful lady named Rita who does her job excellently and makes you feel so welcome. The room I stayed in was clean, spacious and not damp at all with its own thermostat, as well as TV with an array of channels, a fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea maker. The bathroom was clean and spacious with a large tub to shower and a large vanity. The shuttle service is pretty affordable and easy to reserve spots for. The hotel is at a great location if you wish to visit Manhattan but at a more affordable price than NY hotel prices, since it's literally right by the GW Bridge and takes about 30 mins to get to Hilton New York with traffic. Overall good experience and am pleased with Hilton's services. read more

I had to cancel my stay because my flight was cancelled due to weather. Apparently you are charged FULL PRICE if you cancel within 48 hours of the reservation. I find this to be extremely unaccommodating. When I called to try to get a receipt for the charge, since I received nothing and only noticed once I received my card statement, I had to call 7 TIMES. At first they couldn't find it, then they kept transferring me to accounting, who never answered, and then finally someone said they'd email it to me, but 7 hours later, still no receipt. When I call again the first guy is rude, transfers me to accounting, who doesn't answer again... I call back, it's someone else, and he says oh, accounting has gone home for the day. So clearly he was just transferring to divert. I did finally get a receipt on my seventh attempt, which I just needed for my expense report, but this is something they should have sent to me automatically when they charged it... it shouldn't have taken my whole day to get it! Pretty bad experience with them today... I definitely won't choose to stay there again in the future. Disappointed! read more

As a neighbor who passes by this hotel everyday, I always had a positive perspective of this place. I had a reservation last Friday to Sunday since a lot of my family members came over to my house. I got kicked out of my own place as the guests were all elderlies.. I checked in the hotel. The staffs were okay and helpful. Everything was smooth until I found a bed bug on my bed. Thank god I was anxious on that day since I had my own wedding on the next day. I could not sleep and when I turned my back to the other side, I saw a bug right on my side. I thought it was just a bug so I killed it with a tissue but when I saw a damn blood popping I had to google image of the bed bug. Unfortunately, it looked 100 percent the same and I had to call the front desk. The security and the front staff came within a minute. The security took a look at it and could not tell if it wad a bed bug. I don't blame him, but he was kind of suspicious and told me what I want them to do about this. He never apologied, but with a striaght face "so what do you want us to do?" I didn't give a damn, it was 12 midnight I had to wake up at 4:00 AM for my own wedding and I get this question?? I was really tired and could not waste my time so I just told them to change the room, which they did. The front desk staff eventually apologied and the security did too when he was bringing the keys for the new room. I did not ask for a refund or anything, but to say the truth the maintenance needs an upgrade. Gave an extra star for the staff's quick response though. I did not get bitten so that was something positive at least. read more

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Fort Lee - George Washington Bridge - Hotels Near Me - Fort Lee, New Jersey

This hotel is directly across the GW Bridge from Columbia University's Presbyterian Hospital, a surprisingly easy commute. It's oldish, but has been mostly rehabbed. I got an upgraded room so a bit larger than most, and I'm glad as it's still not huge. For a NYC hotel however it's quite sizable. Coffee is in the room, mini fridge on request. Exec lounge has happy hour till 9 pm which is a bonus after a long day, as well as a light breakfast. Just Uber in and out of here to avoid the jacked up taxi rates (2-3x as much!) and this is a very workable location if you have business at the medical complex across the river. read more

The price is what originally attracted me to the location. You would think for a hotel that advertises complimentary shuttle service, that it would be included with the room. Not here. They seem to be operating a separate under the table shuttle service charging $10 per person per way to midtown for some people while others get cut some slack. The room was okay, but it takes getting used to the public bathroom smell as soon as you walk in. The shower curtain smelled as if it has not been cleaned in a long time and house keeping delivered towels with wadded hair hidden inside. After seeing all this. I was a bit hesitant to sleep in the bed but after a long day, the pillow called me in. They are ridiculously comfortable... Clearly the only positive to this experience. Then again, I wonder if my summer cold was due to the unhygienic conditions from staying here. Hilton should take their name and run from this location. read more

Booked three rooms and what we saw as we entered was mess of long hairs on bathroom floor, unclean towels, stinking shower curtain, and a wineglass under a sofa. Pretty disappointed. read more

This hotel is a decent place to stay for one night. The bed was well enough to sleep. My only complain is that the A.C in my room was broken. I woke up thinking I took a shower, when really it was just sweat. Other than that, this place is alright. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice and the bed was so comfortable! I slept like a baby. Bathrooms were clean and everything you needed was in the room. From a microwave to a coffee maker. The complimentary breakfast was better than I expected and the Host was so nice. Wish I would have gotten her name.. No complaints. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

This place is affordable and has a top notch staff. The mid town Manhattan Hilton could learn a few things about customer service from them. We used the shuttle service each day and enjoyed the hot chocolate chip cookies! read more

I didn't stay in the rooms, but I can here for a company conference meeting. The overall appearance is nice. I gave three stars because the food was mediocre. Also, as a female, I was extremely uncomfortable because a sanitation worker kept walking in and out of the bathroom on the second floor over the course of an hour. read more

This review is for the Milano restaurant within the hotel. I was stuck in traffic on Rt. 4 and after not moving for about 20 minutes outside the hotel, decided to go in for lunch. I'm really glad I did. I had a burger and fries. The patty was cooked a perfect medium and had an incredibly light fluffy texture that was very pleasing. So after eating what looked like an 8 oz. burger, I didn't feel leaden or over full. I wish I knew how they did it. The fries seemed to have a light coating that I couldn't identify but they were very crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, not greasy. I'm looking for a reason to go back on an 18 mile drive to have another burger!! The only downside is that employees were vacuuming while diners were eating which I found annoying. The vacuums weren't loud but it just seems inappropriate to have housekeeping going on during lunchtime. read more

This Hotel was more budget friendly for our trip, but was still nice. The room and bed were clean although our room was pretty small. The front desk and staff were professional and nice. We did get an early wake up call sunday morning from a super car rally in the hotels parking lot. They revved their engines and peeled out of the parking lot for about 45 minutes, waking us up. The hotel staff were laughing and taking pictures, not really aware of how this was affecting the rest of the guests. read more

I recently stayed at the Doubletree Hotel Fort Lee for a second time this September. The first time was Thanksgiving Weekend two years ago (2012). Both stays were for a family event taking place in NYC. Both stays were exceptional. The front desk staff were courteous and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were clean and fresh, the beds and linens very comfortable, and the bathrooms immaculate. Since we stayed only two nights each visit, we did not have housekeeping come in, but they were very pleasant when we asked for extra towels and other bathroom items (soaps, shampoos, etc). The two best things about this hotel are (1) the price of the rooms vs a hotel in NYC. Even with the cost of the bridge and city parking, we still saved over $100 a night by staying here. And (2) by using the side road in front of the hotel, which run parallel to rt 80/rt 4, you are able to effortlessly bypass all the backed up traffic and jump in front just yards away from the toll booths. The only negative things I have to add are that, coming north on the turnpike, the hotel is a bit difficult to get to. It takes maneuvering through unmarked local roads through local neighborhoods to get to. And when heading west out of NYC you have to drive past the hotel about a mile, and U-turn through a local neighborhood to get back eastbound and to the hotel. I cannot comment on the shuttle service as we did not use it either of our stays. read more

Stayed here for one night, and would not recommend or desire to stay here again if I'm in the area (which is unlikely). Standard maintenence isn't up to par (broken shower, peeling wallpaper, broken furniture), parking garage is not secure (car was damaged overnight) and hotel staff, while friendly, are less than detail oriented (my credit card was taken from me, but never swiped for approval for incidentals, resulting in a very frustrating exchange where room service had to return 4 times). Breakfast was fine and the room service portions large and tasty. Bed was comfortable enough. read more

I've been a guest at this hotel for over 15yrs for business travel. It was a hilton and several years ago it was "demoted" to a double tree. It has gone down hill ever since. It does have a great location to the GW bridge and the city. However the employees are so rude! The hotel it's self is dated and dingy not dirty but just feels over used. The rooms are small and the "larger beds" make me wonder how big I really am. Over all it is a great place to stay if you are in and out and on the run, try to avoid the staff. There is a court yard Marriot in Paramus but it is far from the city. One more thing, I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the cookies at check in a pretty good:) I hope this helps. read more

Hotel was more than adequate to stay at, super comfortable bed, good size TV with 65 channels, free cookies and water (if you're a Hilton Honors member), but no refrigerator in the room, even though all cables and the cabinets have the spot for it... I don't mind room temperature water but that's a little disappointing. read more

Decent room size and decent price with my Aaa discount. Nice indoor pool, comfy bed, and clean room and bathroom. I didn't care for the fact that there was no microwave and refrigerator in the room. Also the elevated parking had no lights turned on during the night and the parking directly underneath was dimly lit. There's parking on the other side and a couple of spots in front but they fill up quick. read more

So this hotel is not my favorite. I came here for a fraternity event formal. I will give it to them that check in was fast and easy and they honestly have a great room and host a pretty good party. However the room situation isn't the greatest. The room did not seem completely ready when we got there, no toilet paper and complimentary items had to be asked for and let's be honest no one wants to go and ask for them downstairs at the desk. Most of the plugs did not work, we had asked for extra towels before check in and did not receive those. There is also no fan in the bathroom which I found odd. Overall it wasn't a luxury stay but also not the worst thing in the world... It's a not a place you would choose to stay because of how great it is. read more

The rooms were large and the service was fast/friendly. But the pool was really dirty and the location sucks compared to hotels in the area. The hotel is surrounded by a highway and the only way to get anywhere is by car or shuttle. read more

Their $10 shuttle to Manhattan is a very strong plus for this place, but don't expect civil treatment if you get off a red eye and want to check in early. Every other hotel I've stayed at in the NYC area lets you check in early, not this place, so beware, it'll cost you $50. read more

Stay away from this hotel. I stayed here until my apartment was ready in the city and actually was on the fence about staying here. Should have followed my first mind and stayed away, this place is a total dump. It has gone down hill in customer service and quality of hotel. If I could give it zero stars I would. The first night I was in a room that had mildew on the bathroom door and looked like the bathroom door had been chewed on. Well that made sense because by the next morning I smelled dog all night and I did not have a pet. The next night I was moved into a :"better room", well when I pulled back the drapes the rug had peeled away from the wall substantially. I really don't need to go on. Just don't do it. Pay the extra $50-$70 and stay in a clean and courteous hotel in NYC. read more

This hotel is definitely not difficult to get to. We found it no problem and if you miss the exit, you don't have to go over the GW Bridge. You can turn around. I found the location convenient for our purpose - we were traveling between Manhatten and NJ. We enjoyed the pool and the fitness room. The heat worked the first night, but we couldn't change the temp the second night but it was set at 68. We left something that was quite expensive and important at the hotel and they fedexed it back without a problem. We were impressed. read more

Dirty, poorly maintained, and poor service. We had two adjoining rooms. One had air conditioning that kept breaking. The room never went below 75 degrees. We asked to have it fixed or move to a different room twice. The first time we didn't see a difference, the second, a maintenance person came, told us it "freezes up and stops working", reset it and said he'd be back to check in an hour. When we came back that evening, it seemed to be running and was down to 75 degrees (from 78) so we let it go. It stopped working all together during the night. Housekeeping failed to come into one of the rooms entirely one day. When they did come, they did not vacuum the floors and did not leave towels to replace he ones that were removed as needed. One room had a phone that could not reach the front desk. The preset buttons to dial front desk, concierge, etc were wrong numbers and there was no directory to dial the actual number. The pool was filthy. The water was cloudy with clumpy if hair floating around and the drains of the pool deck were clogged with hair and gunk. There was food ground into the pool deck one day and was still there the second day. Dirty clothes were left for multiple days in the pool room. We had breakfast our last day (buffet). Our table cloth was dirty and the creamer curdled when I poured it into my coffee. We also were charged an automatic 20% gratuity for our breakfast buffet because we were a party of six. We were not told that gratuity would be automatically included and service did not warrant 20%. We never saw our server. Dirty dishes were not removed from the table and we had to find someone to get our check so we could pay. We also tried the Japanese restaurant on site for dinner. The food was good but the service was not. We were never asked for drink orders and had to ask for water. Out of six of us, three people received salads and soup while the others were left waiting for theirs. Then the three that had their salads started receiving their entrees before the rest of the salads came out. The 12 year old with us was handed his entree without warning that the dish was hot and burned his hand. The server was handing it across the table, no attempt was made to go around and place it directly onto the table. Again, we had to ask for the check so we could leave. We were also told there was no way to get public transportation by someone at the front desk when asked if there were options other than the shuttle. Some of the people at the front desk were helpful and nice but some were not. We were not looking for fancy or luxury but clean and in good working order with decent service. read more

We have stayed here several times. We like the proximity to Korean restaurants and the shuttle service to NYC. It is also very economical in comparison to other hotels in the city. The past few stays, we noticed that the shower drains were clogged. Perhaps the hotel needs to update and maintain the bathrooms? Also, the past two stays, the maids knocked on our door twice at 10am in an attempt to rush us out. If check out is at 11am, please do not knock. We will leave on our own. read more

This was a horror show. I check in and already I see the place doesn't look very clean but it was late and I wanted to check in. At 3am I hear a girl screaming bloody mary! I call downstairs and tell them to send security someone is screaming. She sounded like she was in my room. Two minutes later she starts again and I call down stars and tell them please send someone. They said the police are on their way. I go downstairs in the morning and ask the manager at the front desk what is going on here? What kind of establishment are you running. He told me they escorted the two couples off the premises. I said really? I checked in at 10pm and was awakened at 3am. Mind you this is my 100th time in a hotel. I travel all the time and this is the first time this has ever happened. I also lived in Fort Lee so I was hoping by selecting this Double Tree I would be able to come back monthly. NO way. It's filthy also. The manager didn't really care about the disturbance, he actually could hardly pick up his head when speaking to me. NO apology either. read more

I loved the helpfulness of the concierge who picked me up from the Hilton 6th Ave & 54th Manhattan, since travel across Washington Bridge was unfamiliar to me.
