As a few others have noted, getting here is half the fun. If you miss the exit you'll be paying a toll and going over the GW bridge so make sure you know where you're going. Not the most fun location or convenient access (literally if you blink you'll miss the entrance and have to drive 5 miles full circle just to get back to it). When you check in, you easily smile at the fresh baked cookies that guests receive... the most scrumptious giant choco-chip cookies I've had in a long time..... addicting.... and waist-blowing.... but meh.... what's a boatload of cookies just once a month? So I had 8 of them... which was good because I ended up saving money not eating dinner. I was really surprised to see such a great pool (for a business hotel) and adequate traveller's gym. It was clean, sufficient, and even had a relaxing hot tub. The rooms were small, but very comfy, and the bathroom- a key decision factor for me- was extremely clean and spacious. I opted to pay the extra $30/nite for the executive buffet breakfast on the executive floor since there were 4 people crashing with me, which was totally worth it. It was a high quality business breakfast buffet, and I'm glad they didn't cut any corners here. Unlimited free parking was icing on the cake. Even though it's a small trek to NYC center, the amazeballs price and comforts are totally worth the stay and extra 15-20 minutes to the city. read more

I didn't have high hopes, but for the location I was pleasantly surprised. Service was fine, room was clean, internet was fast, etc. They were having a convention when I was there that had some kids running all around the lobby, but my room was quiet. Parking is free and it is nice that you're able to get off of the highway so that you're not stuck in all of the traffic. Didn't try and get into NYC while I was here, but they did have some shuttle information there. The bar was OK, nothing to write home about, and the sushi restaurant was OK (not great, but I wasn't expecting it to be). read more

I love this hotel. It has a pool, jacuzzi, gym and two restaurants. It is always super clean. The morning breakfast on the 14th floor is great. Staff is super friendly and super helpful. The location is perfect for traveling in to the city, but the Fort Lee area is also awesome. Plenty of great restaurants. I live in the area, and this is honestly one of the best hotels in the area. I've gone to the restaurants a bunch and I've stayed in the hotel a few times. Im pretty sure I saw the owner's son/nephew there once. Super tall and good looking. read more

I've been to several weddings this year, and this venue was nothing more than what I had expected. No valet was offered, the decor was plain, and the cocktail hour room was mediocre. There were hardly enough tables for guests to sit either. Good thing the main room could comfortably fit 200 people. Surprisingly, the service was great. Though there was no top shelf, the waitstaff were very helpful and tended to our every request without hesitation. The steak was a bit on the rare side, but the dessert selection was pretty good. One bad thing was that the closest women's bathroom was being fixed/cleaned at the same time. Nevertheless, I want to end on a positive note, and say that this wedding hall seemed extremely accommodating to families' culture. Let's just say that there were some non traditional acts, and they were able to honor it all. read more

Stayed here with my handicapped friend who had a scooter. We arrived earlier than check in but went to the desk to see if our room happened to be available. It wasn't, we said "no worries it was cool." My friend mentioned we had a good amount of bags in the car, and we are from Miami where you will get robbed if you leave shit in your car so we wanted to bring it inside. The woman that helped us just repeatedly kept saying "but the room isn't free yet, there's nothing I can do" instead of "we can keep your bags here for you" which is a basic service in pretty much every hotel you know? I jumped in and asked if that was something we could do and she finally said yes (not sure why that wasn't the initial response to my friends inquiry about the bags but okay!) we asked if there was a bell cart to use or even a bell man to help, since it was pretty much me and 11 bags of film gear since she was handicapped and I didn't want her to overwork herself or feel weird about watching me do it all. Desk lady said no all the carts are out and that was it. I hate seeing my friend feel weird asking for help, as she always pushes her limitations and doesn't have any to burden others. Was bummed how dismissive the employee was about being more handicapped friendly. The room was nice but the fridge was frozen over and making some noises- luckily we didn't need to use it. I like the smell of their free shampoo and conditioner (hey look a compliment!) Their in house atrium restaurant is crazy overpriced (but I'm not complaining about that because every hotel does that) but I will complain about the $3 iced tea that was almost black and tasted like coffee grounds and the waiters too have to chase down to order or get a refill on your coffee. If you want a satisfying delicious meal I would skip this place. All and all I have to give 3 stars because I'm on a business trip and didn't have to pay for any of this, and at the end of the day it took me twice as long but I located a bell cart in the corner of the parking lot and got all our baggage inside and held. I feel like I should give 2 stars on account of the non handicapped friendly stuff but I'm feeling nice. read more

The location of this DoubleTree is convenient if you want to visit New York City, but don't want to pay to stay in New York City. There is a shuttle that takes guests to the DoubleTree on E 51st Street and Lexington. It is also five minutes from the GW bridge. There is a Bank of America and a Panera Bread within walking distance. We had a nice sized room with a single king bed on the 11th floor. Hilton Honors members get to stay on the 9th, 10th and 11th floors. I'm not sure if there's a significant difference. The room was very neat. The bathroom needs some care in a few areas. Our sink drained very slowly, and the shower dripped constantly when off. It wasn't anything that bothered us, but I just thought about the water being wasted. We only ate breakfast the next morning and I was not pleased. I kept it simple and ordered two scrambled eggs, with toast and breakfast potatoes. My wife ordered an omelet. My eggs were clearly the liquid eggs or egg substitutes, which I am not a fan of. My wife's omelet appeared to be made with real cracked eggs. To summarize, we stayed because we had a wedding to attend in Englewood and we didn't want to worry about driving back into NYC. Plus, it was a night off without the little ones. I would recommend staying here because of the location, but in regards to dining, you can go anywhere else. read more

I stayed here for four nights. It's a reasonably priced hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very outdated. I stayed in a executive room hoping to have a better room but i was wrong. I paid extra $70 for nothing- normal rate is $90 per not i paid $169. This hotel is very noisy at nights as it's covered by highways. Drains in bathroom are clogged and you get standing water in the sink and bathtub for a while which i found it disgusting. I didn't eat at their restaurent except for the breakfasts because it was included. And it was ok. I was only satisfied with staff specifically because they are trying to help but the hotel is so old and nothing can be fixed. I don't recommend staying in this hotel. read more

Don't recommend. You smell horrible after you get out of the pool and as soon as you're finally ready to go to sleep you turn the A/C on and in the middle of the night it shuts off. I have woken up two nights in a row in the middle of the night in a puddle of sweat because the A/C stops working. If you like a hot room this is the place for you but if you want to sweat your life away in the middle of the night, well that's your choice. read more

Awesome. Easy and speedy check in on a Friday afternoon not crowded at all. They give you warm welcoming cooking (delicious). Room was clean and basic not much but spacious and a nice view (no fridge) in the king room. Pool was very nice crisp refreshing water I brought my floaty . Hot tub was super nice and relaxing. Room service was very fast came up within 20 mins of ordering. Shuttle into the city was a PLUS. 20 dollars round trip. read more

We wanted to take the 10:00 shuttle but it was already booked for that time so we had to take an earlier one which worked out fine. The hotel is very conveniently located right off the bridge. However, I've always found getting to it a little tricky. It's right off the access road (which is one-way), and if you're coming from the wrong direction, you have to drive a little bit out of the way to turn around and get to the hotel. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean. The lobby, especially, is well maintained. I had lunch at the sushi place in the back and the food was pretty decent. The rooms are clean, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I did find that there was a significant amount of noise coming from the traffic and construction outside, which was rather annoying. However, in NY area I'm always prepared for noisy hotels with some earplugs. Overall, this is a decent hotel. I would stay here again. read more

3.5 stars. As a management consultant, I lived in this hotel for 4 months last year. I can't say it felt like home, but I loved the service here. The owner always remembered me and the front desk, bellhop and dining/room service staff were always wonderful. The rooms themselves were just fine - nothing spectacular, although I do know that they went under renovation shortly after I left. The internet was a little spotty, but maybe that has been fixed by now too. Either way, it was free, which is better than other hotels in the area. The food at the bar was pretty decent, although the service there was slow. All-in-all, it's a good place and it's "cozy enough"... and you get chocolate chip cookies when you check in! read more

Way, way not up to the Double Tree standard. I stayed here twice, first time alone with a toddler, and then two years later, with my husband and my now-preschool-age son. I have to say, the hotel would have merited 4-ish stars before (there were some small issues, like a rude room service waiter and the faucets reversed for some odd reason, which COULD HAVE resulted in me scalding my two-year-old but didn't due to my superior mothering skills, but overall it was nice), but the quality of the service had gone very sharply down. First problem--we had booked a room with two QUEEN beds, and got one with two DOUBLE beds. Brought this up to the front desk, was told that no others were available as is "busy weekend." Not so much a problem for me, but for a tall person like my husband -- yes, a huge problem. Second problem, much, much bigger -- massive, obnoxious, loud, base-thumping party next door to our room. Started around 10 PM. (Presumably) drunk patrons running up and down the hallway, laughing loudly, banging on doors (including ours). Now, we had a young child with us, and I was some 20 weeks pregnant, so sleep was an important commodity. Nope, no sleep for you. At around 1 am, I called the front desk and complained, and was told that they would "send somebody." Okay. Not sure whether they did, but someone next door kept slamming doors and banging on ours, so at 3 AM (!!!) I called back and was told by a frightened-sounding person that they had "already sent somebody," and that was that. I threatened to call the cops on that particular party, now, unless they shut it down. It took them 40 more minutes to get the assholes next door to shut up. Unacceptable. Third problem -- a reasonable request for a partial (!) refund was met with an offer of a "free breakfast." Say what? I had paid for a full night and spent half of it being jolted awake. Suffice it to say, it took some arguing with the front desk to get the measly refund back, and probably only because I kept pointing to my pregnant belly and telling them how badly I needed sleep. Overall, this was a spectacularly poor experience. The hotel more or less allowed the partiers to take over the entire floor and run rough shot, and was too lazy or too scared to deal with what was obviously a nasty and rowdy crowd. read more

Avoid this dressed up Holiday Inn ( yes that is what is was ) before the Holiday Inn got a better building . The staff has a few nice interns , but some of the front desk workers one would think are just evil , then you realize this is not a hilton , that is why Hilton is building a Embassy suites 100 yards away to cater to those who care about things like service and rooms that have not been renovated since 1983 yes i was there in 1983 and the place was the same with exceptions the worst flat screen tv's i have seen , not to mention this place is just dusty and DARK, forget about the cookie ( which are tasty ) stay elsewhere read more

The hotel room itself is clean and comfortable. However, there was no mini fridge in the room, coffee maker in the room didn't work, and breakfast was an extra 35 dollars for the room. (2 people) which isn't too bad.. however, upon check in your charged a 25 dollar incidental fee which is never returned back to your credit card. They tell you at the front desk they credit it back, however they do not. Additionally, when booking your not told of this fee in advance. In the end with taxes, you end up paying 200+ for one night. Your better off at somewhere better that is cheaper and breakfast included. The breakfast was ordinary and nothing better than a cheap inn type. Not worth the price, especially when they don't bother stocking up on cereals, or other food that runs out. read more

Extremely hard to get to hotel because of freeways outside door, miss the exit and you are on the GW bridge heading to Manhattan. Coming the other way you need to go about 5 miles past the hotel before you can U turn. On premise Japanese restaurant forgettable (since when has Fried Rice been Japanese?). Italian restaurant tries hard, but misses. Penne too al dente, lobster tail overcooked and rubbery. Unnecessarily huge portions. Nice pool and hot tub. Bar is active with lots of people and big screen TV's. Bar food is very decent, go figure. read more

I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay. It was very quiet and I appreciate that but it is very isolated (from quality food and locals esp if you did not drive. Nothing is in walking distance ). You would think for the price of the hotel you would be allowed access to a freaking microwave. But no, that is not the case. The restaurant in the hotel closes early and on top of that the food isn't that great. I tried both (American restaurant & family owned Japanese) & was not pleased with either. Stains in the bathtub. Freezing cold hot tub. Shallow pool. Overall dingy place. Staff are overall friendly. Stayed here for a week Nd although house keeping came a few times it appears that they only made my bed and took the trash out/replaced towels. I washed my makeup brushes in the sink and as you know it left a little residue. I attempted to use body wash and a washcloth to get it out but it didn't work. I left it thinking house keeping would clean the sink with a cleaning spray . Nope makeup stains are still there. One male staff in particular carried himself like Lurch from the Adaams Family. I will never stay here again. I will say the parking lot was empty so there is lots of room to park. read more

So, I really like this place. I spent a good chunk of this summer hotel hopping for work, and of the lot - Double Tree was pretty impressive. Their front desk service is great, and completely accommodating (they also give you a cookie upon check in, yay!) and their breakfast is solid. They gave me no trouble with checking in several rooms, asking them to hold several pieces of huge luggage and the entire staff was very agreeable. Along with my family, we stayed at this hotel for one night. We left behind an item that is precious and sentimental to us. So we called the hotel, asking them to look for it. They kept saying they will look for it after repeated calls. After two days of repeated calls, they finally said they could not find it. Sigh. Updated on 8/28/2015-Great news! If your looking to save on a hotel that's close enough to the city, the Bronx, Brooklyn, this is a good hotel to stay at. BUT... with that comes traffic. Traffic is disgusting around here. A 5 min trip to hotel will turn into a 40min trip. Cookies of course are amazing. Overall stay was good. Hotel lobby is beautiful. Rooms are a bit outdated. Room did not come with a fridge which should be standard. Hotel counter women weren't so nice but didn't bother me as you are in the tri-state. (Not known for courteous people). Would probably stay here again depending on nature of trip. read more

The nicest thing about this hotel is the staff. They all went out of their way to make us feel at home and welcomed. A stand out was Lorena Sanyer, supervisor​ - and Germain the hotel​ manager - but all in all - ALL were terrific. The hotel has a good location - great parking and valet - easy access and all amenities​. We reserved a suite room and it was a good size considering the area etc. An overall excellent value. The free chocolate chip cookies were TOOO GOOD - you will not just eat one! read more

The only downsides to the hotel were the HVAC system was pretty poor so the temp gauge in the room could never get the room to the temp I wanted and the fact you could only get to it in one direction on the road. After being out all day after check in, we came back to the hotel ready for bed. I noticed the bed did not have fitted sheets. I didn't want to call and ask for sheets at this time. Big mistake, I toss and turn a lot and slept half the night in a asked bed...NOT GOOD! The next day I call and ask for fitted sheets to be put on both beds, they kindly said they would. Came back later that night and again no fitted sheets. I call and request the fitted sheets. Two minutes later the guy is at my door with my sheets, but not fitted sheets. This man proceeds to tell me hat the hotel doesn't carry fitted sheets. REALLY? I took the sheets and placed them on my bed anyways. The pillows sucked, the bed itself was great. Checking in: First thing they tell me is that they over booked rooms the night before. This is a reservation I had pre paid. He asked if we would take a king size bed....No we can't. We have 2 kids (9 & 15) and my boyfriend and myself. Then........The gentleman checking us in was confused and could not see that I had pre paid. After I went in my bag for the confirmation, he kindly said he found it and did not need my paper. They managed to quickly find us a two double bed room. Pros: bed feels great Cons: No fitted sheets. I had a nice stay at this double tree. The evening front desk staff was very friendly and even joked that next time I come up from Philly they're putting in cheesesteak orders The room itself was pretty standard but they had a fairly large gym (although it was weird to get to... You have to be on the mezzanine to go down the specific stairs. Can't get to it from the lobby even though its on the same floor). Luckily I think most of the resolutioners are just about ending their 1 month crazy gym habits so it was only me and one other person using the equipment. I stay at this hotel a lot when Im in New York/ New Jersey for work. They have a shuttle that will take you to manhattan and bring you back, and the parking is free, so if you are renting a car and want to go into the city for dinner, etc. this is an ideal situation. The restaurants in the hotel are so-so, but the fitness center is great. read more

Don't stay here if you want to get charged triple the price of a 2 night stay! My husband and I recently stayed here for 2 nights and discovered, upon check out, that the hotel charged us triple the amount of a 2 night stay. When we inquired at the front desk, we were told that the extra charges were for incidentals! WTF!!!! Who charges an extra 4 nights for incidentals???? I asked to speak with the general manager and was told that he was off that day. So, there's no one to assist him??? We called the main 1-800 line to complain and to get answers and we were patched in to the hotel. We just got off the phone with the corporate office. During the call we were told that our account should be credited within 72 hours. I will stay on top of this to see if further action needs to be taken. We had a lovely stay at Hilton Doubletree bringing our daughter back to school but it was also a bit of a miracle. We were greeted with a warm cookies and a pool that was open until 12 including the Jacuzzi which we welcomed. But the miracle was in the housekeeping. My husband left a very sentimental cross /silver at the pool and it got entangled among the towels. The housekeeping staff, upon hearing of its loss , I worked with one another to figure out where it could be andwere able to deliver it to us. He has worn this cross daily for 40 years. In particular Zoveida went to great lengths. THANK YOU!!!!!!! We are so appreciative of the help we received. read more

Stayed here for a yankees game. Id recommend sucking up the extra cost of the NYC rooms if you are coming to go to NY. Cost of cabs or back and forth over the bridge puts you well over what you would have paid just staying in the city. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Small lounge is set up nice and hax good food. Prices are average. Bar menu is cheap, burgers for aboug $10. Room service is kind of pricey but delish. I had breakfast. Everything was good enough for me to moan "mmmmm" especially coffee. Id stay again but only if visiting NJ. Overall great experience. read more
