If you can stay somewhere else, I would. I would actually recommend the Homewood Suites just a few miles away. Here is a summary of why I say this: 1) The gym is below Hilton standard and just plain sad. 2 treadmills, one that is broken. No AC in gym no weights no bench no mat Two old ellipticals Two old style sit down bikes 2) Diamond Members, you do not get any love here. Arrived at 3:45 was told to wait until 4pm by the "front desk supervisor in a suit". Room was not ready at 4 and switched to another room. Tried asking for my complimentary waters as a diamond member and Supervisor did not want to give it to me and basically was giving the lady helping me a hard time. He never actually talked to me directly just to her about me. Very odd. 3) Check out time, there was a line 6 deep for checkout with one person at the desk. I just came back from a 5 mile run outside (because the one treadmill was occupied) and when the "Hilton honors" line was opened walked to the front and was basically made to feel like a POS because as a diamond member I walked to the front. Check in, was simple and fast. Got a warm cookie~ always guaranteed in these chains and had labels for nut allergies precautions ~ getting to our floor was easy, and our room was larger than I expected. Very roomy with hooks for coats, tables for our bags, a couch, basic amenities of water, cups, and a fridge. Very sleek modern design and decor~ bathroom was spotless and mirrors smudge free~ had shower needs including soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash~ front desk gave us information on the shuttle to the closest train into the city and did warn us of how limited and timed shuttles come around. Coming back might need transport by public or app rides. Our room was cleaned up upon request~ guests around us were quiet~ there was plenty of parking for my car, but there is sign that states they are not responsible for missing or stolen items since it's not secured~ surrounding area has a great Asian community with lots of Korean and Japanese restaurants that have great ratings so give those a try~ beats a long drive into the city and I think my best food has been outside the city! overall enjoyed my experience! read more

This Doubletree is currently under renovation and spent a couple of nights there recently related to a business conference the company I work for hosted there. My room on the 15th Floor, 1510, was one that hadn't been remodeled yet, so it was definitely dated but was glad to know that the property is investing to make it better. Despite the room being dated, it was very comfortable and in standard Doubletree décor, including had all the amenities you'd expect to find. The room was very clean, and comfortable. I did not have an opportunity to see one of the renovated floors, but a co-worker of mine had a room on a renovated floor and was quite happy with it, although did not go into detail as to why. When I checked in there was an older gentleman at the front desk, I didn't catch his name but, found him not a personable as other front desk staff I encountered during my stay. Moreover, there was another older gentleman who worked in the breakfast area and on both days, I was there he was barely visible. Even my co-workers noticed how inattentive he was, and I even noticed that other guests in the area also commented the same. I'm not suggesting bay any means that the fact that they were older had anything to do with it, it was just that I didn't catch either of their names, and this is the only way I can identify them. The meeting we had was hosted by the hotel adequately and the hotel staff supporting it were very attentive, but some of the more basic things like extension cords for our team to plug in our laptops for the day's meeting were not automatically provided by hotel, and you'd think that a business meeting scheduled would have a detail like that taken into consideration. I'm not sure if my company will have another meeting planned at this hotel in the future, but if so, I hope the overall experience improves to up to par with other Doubletree properties I have stayed at around the country. The AC unit here was broken, I had the setting down to 50 degrees hoping it would prompt the unit to cool the room down. It didn't. Aside from that, i took a shower and came out. As I was drying, I felt a scab on the back of my knee. I was confused because I know I didn't have a mosquito bite nor did I cut myself there. I kept messing with this scab. I noticed it wasn't peeling off like a normal scab would. I kept pulling on it until I was able to pry it off. Once it came off I noticed it moving and realized it was a bed bug. When I spoke with the manager on duty about being reimbursed, he initially offered me 40,000 points. The stay was over $300. He asked for the video and I said I wanted to be reimbursed first, he said he would reimburse me after they conduct an investigation and see if there were more bed bugs. 0/10, find a different hotel to stay at. read more

This is a good little hotel if you plan on going to a Yankee/Red Sox Game like we did... it's right before the GW bridge though- so it's very congested and traffic-y all the time here. I prefer the Hyatt to this hotel. This is a little older. There was no Conditioner or body wash in our room- which was annoying... there was a place to get breakfast at but you have to pay & it's your choice of buffet or something from the menu. I did the buffet & it wasn't good. Elevators are a bit scary- tbh. Staff was super friendly and personable. "Pool is permanently closed". Which is annoying! It didn't say that anywhere when I was booking. Overall I would say 3.5/5- needs a bit of work- but not much to get back up there. read more

I picked this hotel because it was close to NYC and decently priced. They offer free parking as well. But overall I didn't have an enjoyable stay. I'll start with the customer service. The staff were professional, attentive and friendly. The ladies checking me in did everything they were supposed to do to accommodate the complaints I had. The quality of the food from the restaurant was very good! Our server made sure we had everything we needed before heading to the room with our take out. The first room was drab/a lot of visible water damage in the ceiling. I asked to be moved. The second room had less issues with the ceiling, ventilation was poor and the beds were uncomfortable and a safety hazard. The two rooms I was in look nothing like the rooms advertised on their website. There was nothing modern. The room would get very warm even with the AC put to 70 degrees. It was very stuffy. The bed close to the bathroom in both rooms couldn't cover the metal support it's placed on and was exposed. The cover covering the box spring was pulled down to cover the area but I think the actual base of the bed needs to be placed better to cover the areas so I wouldn't accidentally stump my toe. read more

Stay AWAY! Took 20 minutes to get 1 mile away from hotel on the only way to leave the location. Really bad traffic 24-7. Old, small and ugly. Desk staff that could care less if your alive (might be a NJ thing). No hot water for shower at 9:30 am. $25.00 for a breakfast buffet. Dreary small rooms. Old, depressing carpet. Old furniture, old air conditioning, really awful industrial location. No microwave. When asked front desk said "you can try asking the restaurant". Check in was smooth, they greeted us and was friendly. We also got some yummy warm chocolate chip cookies. We went up to our rooms dropped our bags and went straight to New york. When we got back I inspected the room it was clean, the only issue we had was our AC. We called the front desk and they sent up a repair man and he clicked some button and it kind of worked. Wouldn't go lower than 78 which I can't handle. The next day we went to New York and when we got back to yhe hotel our room was 82 degrees. I went to the front desk to let them know I would need a new room and I couldn't take it anymore. So we were moved and when we got there the AC was broken yet AGAIN! another repair man came and he did fix it. By the time it was all said and done it was almost 1am. So the front desk let me have a check out time of 2pm. Thank god cause I would of never made check out had they not done that for the inconvenience. The location is definitely not in a prime location. If you don't like a little bit of a beat up area then this hotel is not for you but if you don't mind the area then I guess this is a fit for some. The hotel it's self over all was good, food was good, staff was very nice. The hotel for clean but could of been a little bit more cleaner. Would I stay here again? I had a terrible experience at this hotel in Ft Lee New Jersey. They advertised that they had a pool and it's on their website but is "permanently closed" false advertising. I brought my wife on this trip and her one request was a pool. They also double charged me for my week accommodations. I personally got that straitened out. My husband and I stayed here from February 11th through the 14th earlier this year. (I'm late in writing this review but I have a little bit of a backlog to get through!) I wanted to do some shopping around the Edgewater area and figured why not stay a few nights for fun. Firstly, location. If you're driving to and from the area, the hotel is located directly off 95 South and is accessible to and from that turn off only. There are no back entrances or off highway roads that lead to the hotel so if you happen to be driving around the area from the other direction, you'll need to plan accordingly. Since this part of 95 leads directly to the George Washington Bridge, be prepared for a lot of traffic regardless of the time of day or night. It was a bit of a pain leaving the area each day. We weren't there to visit the city so we didn't need to pay the hefty $16 toll or worry about NY traffic. If you're new to the area, keep in mind you won't be getting a chic NYC skyline view- just highway. As for the hotel itself, it was alright. The staff were friendly and check-in was a breeze. There's plenty of parking and the lobby is clean and comfortable. No problems there. However it wasn't until we actually settled into our room when I noticed the main issue. ....their heating/air system was awful. We got a standard King on a higher floor- the room itself was comfortable, clean albeit a bit dated. But that wasn't an issue with us. What was an issue was that their air system was quite literally spewed hot air on its highest setting nonstop. When we first checked in, I made the poor assumption that it just happened to be left on and adjusted it to my usual temp before leaving for the evening. When we got back, the room was still boiling and the AC clearly didn't work. By this point it was already around 11 in the evening so we just opened the window since it was chilly outside for the time being. The next morning on the way out I informed the front desk that the heating was broken and we couldn't lower the temperature. They told us maintenance would be by to fix it while we were gone. When we got back in the evening, the vents were still spewing hot air and the room was still an oven. ...However the window we opened was now shut with screws in place to keep it from opening. Apparently all maintenance actually did was close the window. At this point I didn't feel like going back and forth all night so the husband carefully removed the screws so we could open the window again (we always carry a multitool!) and we just dealt with it for the remainder of the trip. (Before leaving we screwed them back in place.) I would warn visitors to NYC choosing this hotel for the cheaper cost, you're absolutely better off staying at the Doubletree in Newark- it's cheaper and directly on the NJ transit line which will take you into the city sans traffic for a few dollars. Especially if you're traveling by rail or air I can't think of any reason why staying here has an advantage over the Newark location which is quite literally connected to Newark Penn Station with plenty of eateries you can easily walk to. Judging by the many, numerous reviews reporting the same issues with broken air conditioning and janky heating units, until management actually does something to fix these problems, stay clear. If it weren't for the sweat-box sleeping conditions, it wouldn't have been all that bad for the price. read more

Pro tip - there is no shuttle service offered from Newark airport A relatively affordable lodging option compared to others in the area. The location can be a bit squirrelly to get to and from, conveniently parked just across the Hudson from Manhattan. When I was there, there was plenty of parking both in the lot and the garage. The hotel offers a shuttle to another Hilton in midtown Manhattan that is both convenient and affordable, $10 per leg. The front desk has a handy shuttle flyer you can grab for times and registration. The customer service at this location was actually very good. Upon check in, I received two warm chocolate chip cookies and two bottles of water. The outside of the location can be viewed as somewhat janky because of the surrounding area and construction next door, but inside you will find a solid hotel offering. The surrounding Fort Lee area is actually comprised of a nice mix of home styles in quiet neighborhoods. The breakfast bar covered the usual ground, but the two standouts for me were, 1) the hard boiled eggs offered, were boiled in house, actually not overboiled and peeled easy. 2) The miso soup bar, not something you see very often but the large local Asian crowd definitely were enjoying it. As for dinner, Milano is the go to. The highlights of my stay were both the ribeye and the salmon, both were done extremely well and I highly enjoyed my meal. I was going to try the sushi place one night but while I was looking the menu over, got turned off by the sushi chef not washing his hands after using a kleenex on his nose. As for the bar, Frank is the go to, he will take great care of you and he pours a mean martini. Cheers Frank! As for the room, the one thing I did notice was that the cabinet door that enclosed the mini fridge, did not have sufficient clearance to clear the carpet. Instead it kind of drags over the carpet in a halting manner. A minor concern that can be easily addressed if they choose to, room 918 Hilton. Something to be aware of, I had no issue at all during my entire stay until the morning of departure. I woke up to a very loud agitated conversation in the adjacent room. Not sure if it was a new neighbor arrival or what, but they were very loud for that early in the morning. One aspect that may have possibly contributed to this is the joining room door. Not positive, but in general, I would hope to be able to be in my room, they in their room, and not hear every word they say. Had they been there the entire week I would have had to move. Could be an isolated incident to one annoying person but something to be mindful of. read more

It's tough to recommend or rate hotels these days; being understaffed and COVId protocols are killing business travelers because the lack of amenities in hotels across the country. DoibleTree FT Lee is no different. Been staying here several times a year for a decade and this place is a shell of its former self. No staff, no room service, limited take away and no Sugi Japanese next door. Staff is still professional and courteous but it's obvious they are overwhelmed. Big ding on the room cleanliness, there is dust I. The bathroom that is so thick and nast it's years in the making. If you're going to stay at this hotel, you will definitely need a car. It's situated right on the highway. Even if Google maps or the maps app tells you there's a walking path, there really isn't. I brought a scooter here and no car thinking I can just scoot everywhere based on Google maps instructions but Google maps was telling me to go through some bushes+hill (basically a forest). So I stayed here for a few days and needed to remote work. Internet was decent and consistent, but when it comes to lunch time, there's literally no food around! You'll need to order an Uber eats or drive somewhere. They have a restaurant at the hotel but it's not open until 5pm, so I'm really not kidding when I say you're stranded here without a car. Also, no microwave and they only had a small fridge. Most people would probably want a cafe nearby so if you absolutely must, you can get to a Starbucks by walking on the side of the highway and against traffic. I know because I decided to do exactly this on my scooter to get to a bus station a little bit beyond the holiday inn to get back to NY. Also note that they don't have their shuttle to manhattan anymore because of covid, so another missed opportunity to get the heck out of the hotel. I didn't get to try out the pool and gym here, but they both seemed run down. My boyfriend doesn't even want to workout here at all. I think the one good thing about this hotel is it's TV. A more modern TV and it had cable, so that was satisfactory. They also had the remote in a plastic bag so it felt clean. So in summary, if you're just staying for one night, then it's a fine stay but long term is impossible! read more

Their repair man came up and plugged back in all the piping . Upon returning for the night the room was hot again still unable to control the heat . The toilet doesn't flush and still leaves waste behind. And the sink does not drain properly either. After asking for concessions of a late check out they refuse to oblige our request. Want to experience dirty bedding, being your own housekeeper, and loud noises, this is the perfect place. For a Hilton hotel I am beyond disappointed with the room that I stayed in. The bedsheets had BLOOD LIKE STAINS. I called the front desk and they said they'll have someone replace it. When the guy came up and brought the replacement sheets he placed the bedsheets on the side of the bed even after I told him that he could change the bedsheets and he proceeded to to tell me he did not know how. As customers paying to stay at a hotel, I never expected to come into a room where they couldn't even have the decency to provide clean sheets. Which brings me to my next question did they even clean the room!? The window couldn't be closed so they placed an addition window panel on the inside and sealed it off. There is a small crack that my fingers can go through which means bugs can come into the room and we can hear all the cars and trucks that pass even louder than the usual amount that we were used to. The pillows were flat and the mattress was way too soft, woke up to aches and pains. read more

A chill Saturday morning, I entered the lobby with my 4y and 20m old trying to find the swimming pool for a trial class. I asked the front desk lady, who's not doing anything at the moment, about the direction to the pool. She gave me an instruction, which took me 15min to go up then down different floors through the fire stairs, the janitors department, mechanical room... It was okay cuz normally it would take me less then 5min if I didn't have to carry the baby and stroller. But here is the best part. When we finally entered the pool, we discovered the ACTUAL entrance was right next to the front desk. The hotel staff was shocked when they learned how we got there. I fail to understand why. A one star even feels like an overrate. I will not personally go there again nor make any reference to anyone about this hotel. read more

Stayed here based on being a hotel used by a very well known Korean company. My assessment will be submitted to company for future evaluation for corporate use. Sadly to say, this hotel did not seem to realize they also also reflect the image of companies who use their services and how we by extension how we value our customers and employees. I noted HMart used this hotel for company use for a company event. Just saying... The small stuff included short shower curtains that were too short and caused water to "flood" the floor. AC was loud and rooms very basic. Lack of shuttle service to airports even though shuttle service stated on website yet told by customer service non existed. The corporate account included breakfast which was okay. Why they would otherwise charge others is a mystery. Even less notable hotels' continental breakfast has the same thing and more offerings like buicuits/gravy and real hash browns. The food on the evening menu was pretty bad. I ordered the chicken wings. Crisp but the salt in the batter made me choke. This was without the hot sauce. Kimchi has salt. I love kimchi. This was like chicken soaked in a salt bath. I was still made to pay for this which I did but reveals the sad state of hotel food management. I also ordered the house cab, pinot noir and malbec wines. Cherry cough syrup for each variety. Avoid the house malbec, the amount of sulfur gave a literal "crap" nose. No amount of decanting would help. Apparently they always serve this per bartender like that made it a serviceable wine....same rationale was given for the chicken wings. I guess New Jersey people love food with large quantities of salt. I did not make a fuss and paid for it food. They did offer me to choose another food option but I cared too much for my health so pretended it was like a deductible on my future healthcare. That being said, I will not stay here again or recommend to others. Like I mentioned nor will I recommend to the decision committee in a large company electronics company and will recommend they switch to other options.. We can not have our company guests stay at a hotel that says we do not care. You never know who you are serving in your hotel restaurant... read more

The front desk ladies were super kind. The maintenance guys who came up at 1 am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, and 4pm were also very very nice. HOWEVER the AC was never fixed. I wasn't offered to swap rooms. I assume because the hotel is booked. I even suggested it but didn't get a yes. Slowly watching the temperature rise to 82 again. Wondering who wants to pay to be uncomfortable.. sleeping in my car with working AC seems like a much better plan. The hotel Itself is cute. Disappointing and not recommended except as last resort. I chose it for on-site restaurants and free parking. So on arrival was hoping to watch March Madness in the bar but learned there isn't a bar. There is however a large screen TV propped on a table in the "italian" restaurant. It's just an open area with tables that apparently serves pasta. And since the other restaurant wasn't open, I spent most of my time here in other establishments. While the hotel is reasonably clean it's very outdated and has a slightly odd feeling throughout. Not a hotel with a buzz in the lobby - as though everyone stays in their rooms or out of hotel. Like me I guess. My family and I had our Mother's Day brunch here for the second year in a row. We had a wonderful time and the staff were lovely. There were like forty of us and about ten of them were children under the age of ten. We had our own room to dine in and the food was very good, not great but good and the most important part is that we were all together. We didn't have to wait in a long line to be seated and everyone had a great time. We will probably do it again next year because we love being together for Mother's Day. read more

So far so good. First night and my room was pretty quiet. They put me in a corner room since I plan to be here for the whole week. There was complimentary chamomile tea in my room, which I enjoyed with the cookie they gave me upon arrival. Bed was quite comfortable, and there was a lot of pillows. I was able to get the room to a nice temperature easily. Also used the business center and free WiFi, both were easy to navigate. They were doing some renovations, but none of it was ever in my way. The elevator going up was almost always waiting for me at the lobby level. There was actually a pretty good choice for TV although I didn't use it much. The room here was a good value considering the distance to the NYC - NJ border. Without a GPS, getting here could be challenging. Rooms are large and generally clean with nice furnishings. The room was surprisingly quiet considering the proximity of the hotel to the highway. Check in and out was not easy. They keys I was initially given did not work so I had to go back and get another set of keys. Hotel literature indicated I would get an email overnight and if I was happy with the bill as it read, no check out at the desk required. It did not come so I stopped at the desk on my way out. I had to ask for a paper receipt. An email came later. Room coffee is very limited and poor quality. There was some coffee in the lobby but at this point my hands were full of luggage. I stay at this hotel about every 2 to 3 weeks during baseball season, So here is my honest review. I'm posting here because I see that somehow. This hotel has received about 100 glowing 5 stsr reviews in the past 24 hours over on Google. All of the comments you see about AC not working is correct.... I literally had to be my own maintenance person back in May when I stayed there. I've stayed here for years due to the convenience of getting to the stadium And I'm a Hilton Honors member, but I may not stay here again. Positives: free parking (unlike the Hyatt next door), great lounge. Negative: If you're staying on the upper floor (15) there's a very distinct odor in some of the rooms. I know the smell to be of rodents because my office building had the same smell before they renovated it. Doubletree tried covering up the smell in my room with some sort of perfume before I entered but after a few minutes, the smell was apparent and I needed a different room... I'm actually a hilton honors member but in my experience if you smell rodents, you're going to eventually see them....... There is a Hyatt next door that I'm not a fan of but I may have to consider that....Doubletree has to get it together...and quit it with the fake reviews on Google. read more

I didn't have any challenges with the property until I was stopped while getting breakfast. One of the hotel's random employees struck up an empty conversation and then proceeded to ask me if I was authorized to partake in what I thought was a complimentary continental breakfast. I don't know why I was targeted and wasn't aware that breakfast was not included for hotel guests. The experience was humiliating and I undoubtedly felt like the interaction was undoubtedly discriminatory. Its close to the George Washington and has free parking. those are the plusses. Needs to have work done in the bathroom however, peeling paint on the ceiling, stains on the wall, ceiling light wasn't well placed, shower floor is dingy and the heat the heat you couldnt change the thermostat yourself its 78 degrees in my room now. Another Hilton failure. I am on the road about three months a year. So, I get to stay in a whole bunch of different hotels. Sometimes the client books them for me, otherwise I book them myself. When I book them myself, I'd often do so thru Hotwire. I've had much success getting good hotels at bargain prices. But, if I end up getting a Doubletree (a Hilton), I know I am in for a major disappointment. I booked two nights thru Hotwire. They got me the dreaded Doubletree. Upon arrival, the front made it clear to me that I will get what was already assigned to me and that I was not allowed to change that. Further, I was informed, curtly, that HHonors will not be accepted as the room was booked thru a third party. It was as if the staff are trained to be rude to people who book thru Hotwire (I kinda expected it, but it still was a surprise when it happened.) The room was a handicap room with a horrible view. The beds were not properly made. The blanket had ripples and clumps in them. Bedboard was missing a piece and had screws sticking out from them. On the bedside table, there laid a breakfast menu (to be hung on the door handle) which was apparently used by another guest to hold wet glasses. Someone decided that it was a good idea to reuse the paper. A lousy deal. Hotwire needs to realize that Hilton is downgrading the image and value of Hotwire when Hilton discriminates, so brazenly, against Hotwire customers. To Hilton, Hotwire customers are a lower class customers, apparently accepted begrudgingly to sell rooms otherwise not sellable. The hotel sucks. Hotwire needs to stop selling Hilton rooms (at least Doubletrees, if not all Hiltons). read more

I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. It's dirty, the air conditioner broke, the staff was incredibly rude and the location is terrible. They screwed up my reservation and then refused to give me anything, including the free breakfast that comes with the room. Worst hotel I've stayed at in a long time. read more

Great location close to NYC but don't miss the exit or else you'll be circling for awhile. The prices are pretty good especially given proximity to NYC. Free very good chocolate chip cookies when you check in. I love it that they don't nickel and dime you. Free parking and free wifi, although its a bit slow. Rooms are clean and spacious. The beds are quite comfy. The service is not 5 star but very friendly and more than adequate. They seem to cater to a lot of Asians. I walked in to a lobby full of Japanese tourists and the front desk worker spoke Korean better than English. They even have a small pool... Maybe will check it out tomorrow. read more
