If I could put zero stars I would. My husband and I are currently staying here for 10 days for a work trip. We have been here for 3 days and I am so furious right now. Every day we have asked for room cleaning - fresh towels, empty trash can - the usual and all three days we have been ignored. At this point it feels deliberate and I don't know why. We have to get our own towels and basically service the room ourselves because they just won't do it! What does it take? Talking to guest services is useless. This is my only recourse. read more

I enjoyed my stay this week - was there for 1 night on business. Didn't use the bar downstairs at all or really any amenities. Staff was kind at the front and the warm cookies are always delish. Bed was very comfortable and I felt the room was pretty clean. (I am a bit OCD so this says a lot!) would recommend if you're in the area. This is not a safe hotel! I was physically and verbally harassed at one of their properties and I've been trying to reach at this point. Anyone willing to discuss the incident with me. I was able to reach someone on Facebook who said it's been documented and then I would receive an email in three days, still no email. I called in twice and even escalated the matter with guest services and was to receive a phone call or an email - nothing. I reached out directly to the hotel itself via email with no response. They don't care about your safety or your guest experience. Stay anywhere else. A roach motel would be better than this place at this point. read more

I stayed at this hotel recently for a weekend-long event. Based on the majority of reviews over the past 18 months or so, I was wondering what to expect. I took into consideration the fact that this set of reviews was representing only a small portion of the number of guests who have stayed here and hoped that significantly more were satisfied enough with their experience. I had also heard that the hotel had some staff turnarounds which may have improved the situation. My concerns were few, the weekend there was very enjoyable both in terms of our own activities and the service the hotel provided. It's an older hotel, and it shows a bit around the edges in the rooms. But my room was clean, fresh-smelling, and the temperature was comfortable the entire time. Our event included some hotel-provided meals, and these were delicious, including a Friday dinner and Saturday breakfast buffet. Alcohol was available at Characters on the other side of the lobby. The pool and hot tub were working and clean. This hotel does not have any automatic doors. The entrance to the lobby has a revolving door and a set of manually operated doors on either side. There's a second entrance maybe 75' to the left for the salon/ballroom area that advertises push-button automatic doors... NONE OF THE BUTTONS WORKED (I tried every one, because I had to move items into salons on a cart). Getting into and out of this hotel may be a little challenging for folks with mobility issues. My room was comfortable, including the bed. But if you have a room on the west side of the hotel, you will hear the traffic along Interstate 93, as well as some possible noise from the corridor. I have stayed at several DoubleTree hotels over the past couple of years, and they have been a bit inconsistent. This was definitely one of the better ones! read more

This hotel is not worth it for the price. The room wasn't clean, and it was very warn down and messy. There were chips in the walls, the furniture was falling apart, the curtains were ripped, there were holes in the hand towels, and several stains scattered around not only the room, but the whole entire establishment!!! The vent was excessively noisy, and we ended up having to cover it with a bed sheet (fire hazard!). We woke up the next morning to a costly breakfast fee, which is very odd, because normally breakfast would be included in an expensive hotel like this one. The previous night, this hotel held an event and failed to clean it up, there was beer and garbage everywhere. Not to mention there were lots of noisy and drunk smokers disrupting our stay. However, there was one pro, the beds were pretty comfortable. You're better off staying in a treehouse than this doubletree!!! read more

The front desk checked me in around 1pm Sat Nov 4. She said a buffet breakfast would be $17. I told her I was under a wedding block and the breakfast was included but she insisted it wasn't. She, of course, was wrong and there was indeed a wedding breakfast included. Had I not asked around, I would've missed seeing my family the next morning. Also, as a double tree, you should have a free breakfast anyway. Other locations do. Powdered eggs at $17 is completely unacceptable. I was here for three nights for my niece's wedding. I can't say how disappointed I was in this hotel. I only stay at HILTONS. This site was so substandard. First the moment you walk in you can smell the carpet deodorizer. The rugs in our room were stained. The service and food at the character restaurant was awful. They were so understaffed and it shows. There were bugs in our room as well. As a Hilton honor member I can't believe that this is what the Hilton name has come to. I was on a business trip and brought my wife and son. My son loves hotel pools, so we booked this hotel. Little did I know it was going to be a complete shit show. The pool was PACKED with locals, not just a few but well beyond capacity (Pool capacity is 25 and there were over 20 kids in the pool not counting the adults) I knew it was locals because families kept knocking on the door of the pool area, not using their key. It was so packed there was literally no place to sit or put down our belongings. All the time these kids in the pool, who were mostly unsupervised by parents more concerned about drinking than watching their kids, were diving into the pool from all sides. I eventually pulled my son out of the pool for fear he may get injured after seeing twice that kids jumped into the pool and landed very close to his head. Other disgusting things, a family let their little girl, about 3 or 4 years old, simply squat at pee on the floor in front the pool, a little puddle forming underneath as she squatted, which made no sense given there are two bathrooms in the area. There were staff inside the pool area, restocking towels, so staff knew it was packed with locals. I left the pool area with my son, and noticed as we left that there was a trashcan propping open a door to the outside parking lot, allowing locals to come in. When I got back to our room my wife called the front desk to tell them, and they didn't seem to give a rats ass about our complaint. So, we called Hilton Honors, to complain there and they called the hotel and told us a Manager on Duty at the hotel would investigate and follow up with us...but we never got any call from them or any contact from any MOD. The next morning I talked to a staff member who openly admitted that each weekend during the cold months that locals will rent a few rooms and invite all their friends to the hotel. So, the hotel is totally aware this is going on. What angers me is not just that turn a blind eye to it, but also that it negatively impacts the experience of those of us who are traveling and anticipating a hotel pool experience, not the local YMCA experience...and hey at least the YMCA has some standards, and this place had none. And, a kid can easily get hurt someday if this madness continues. The parents are drinking and not paying attention to their kids. Nice hotel. Plenty of parking. Right off the high. Only 10 minutes to salem New Hampshire and about 30-35 to Boston. Lots of restaurants around. Smooth check in, usually 3pm but they were ready for us at 2pm which was nice. They give you walnut chocolate chip cookies at check in. 5 floors and we got put all the way on the top floor in the back corner which at 9 months pregnant sucked to have to waddle all the way but it was a very full weekend. Beds cozy. Good smelling soaps in room. A mini fridge. 2 chairs and a table on the balcony. Can see the stars at night. Gym & pool are both open! read more

Rundown and overpriced. Avoid this hotel if you can. The rooms are outdated and smell musty. Water pressure was so bad in my first room that I had to move but they could not promise the next room would be better "because a lot of the showers are just old". The room I moved into was missing some pieces of furniture, some of the towels and the cover on the peephole was broken. No fitted sheets on the beds. I almost did an extra 3 hours of driving just so I didn't have to stay here but exhaustion won out. Still it made up my mind to never book a Hilton property again. read more

Giant nasty hair ball in the toilet which wasn't that big of a problem once we did the longest flush in history. Water pressure in the toilet was weak but the shower was nice. Ordered from the restaurant at night and after waiting for over an hour I decided to go down and sure enough the food had been sitting there for a while, they then said they called the room but couldn't leave a voicemail as it wasn't set up...The phone never rang and also it's now our phone it's the hotels? Maybe come to the door next time. Lastly, we were charged $60 for two people for breakfast which was advertised as an "Easter" breakfast, would have been nice to know we'd be charged. There was no included breakfast. Overall it was fine but it's def not a 3.5 more like a 2.5. Pros: Restaurant and Bar were nice, there's a pool and hot tub. TV was a nice size and the shower was nice. Plenty of parking and we were able to check in at 12 (this could have resulted In the dirty room), and check out at noon the following day. Rooms are just okay. They completely skipped cleaning room, just skipped it. Manager is rude as ____. Coffee in lobby at 6am was last night's leftover. It was old and cold and had to microwave. Tomorrow will have to have the same as they didn't replace the room coffee bc they didn't check it. I asked about room coffee and they told me they have some decaf but no regular. Restaurant bartender is nice but food is barely ok. Will post a pic of how chowder was served. Definitely came out of some can. Hilton has gone way down hill over the years. This is a very nice hotel, on the newer side. I was a little worried based on some reviews that said it was an older hotel, but they renovated recently so maybe not all of the rooms were done yet. I was also surprised that our room wasn't a suite (I thought all doubletree rooms are) but the size of our room was a lot more spacious than your avg hotel room. The beds were actual queen beds too (not the smallish double beds). The beds were really comfortable. The room had modern decor and felt spaciously comfortable. The soundproofing though, could have been improved. When we arrived at the hotel, there were tons of teens everywhere, most likely there for a sports competition. They packed the lobby, our floor, elevator, everywhere. I could hear them in the hallway in the middle of the night. We stayed for an overnight. We were in Boston for the day and needed a place to sleep before heading to New Hampshire. The hotel is about 30 min from Boston. It was a good call to stay in a hotel outside of Boston; less traffic, etc. This hotel allows you to check in and obtain a digital key before you actually get to the hotel. This worked out perfectly. I checked in while still Boston and then headed to the hotel late at night when we were done with everything in Boston. Very convenient. read more

We were thrilled when the Hilton in Woburn booked us with this "sister" location to meet the specific needs. Two rooms that were located next to or across the hall. A pool. A hot tub. Breakfast. The specific booking agent "added notes" to my account and I was told we should have no problem with an early check in but call the day of to confirm. The day of, no early check in available due to long term stays. Ok, no big deal. We arrive and check in... over charged 50.00 ... I was told then that each room has a 25.00 hold that is refunded. Ok, perfect- that was never explained by the reservation agent but no problem. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and they were so excited for the pool and hot tub... but the water was so cloudy and gross that we never used it. The rooms were on SEPARATE floors... the breakfast wasn't included, when I had specifically asked about. The shower pressure was horrible, the air blowers all blew cold air - no matter how high we put the heat up AND the front staff was less than pleasant. We check out and just chalked it up to live and learn - NEVER AGAIN. I would rather stay at the Hilton in Woburn where I know the service is positive and the rooms are clean. Today... I am getting charged again for a third time for a "smoking fee." Two non-smoking adults and three SUPERVISED teens. If they had said, the confetti poppers made a mess or it smelt like the inside of bath and body works (teen girls.. right) then I would have understood. HOWEVER - charging us a smoking fee when there were five non-smokers. Outrageous. I called the hotel directly and the woman who answered was rude and then when I asked to speak to a manager I was told there was no one available. It was 3:30ish on a Monday afternoon. I then asked to speak to someone higher than her as I didn't feel she was understanding me and she barked back that she was the manager. I pointed out the conflict with her previous words and instead of transferring me (after an extensive hold) to a person, I was sent to a voicemail. I did leave a message and still have yet to hear back. I would recommend avoiding this place for the lack of cleanliness, poor communication and terrible customer service. Bunked for two nights for work. The lobby is clean but my room was less to be desired. The carpets are really nasty, old and dirty. You would know they did not vacuum because there were trash underneath the small sofa. The room has a very unusual smell and cannot pinpoint what it is. The toiletries are so small and guaranteed someone used it (half full). The saving graces: bed and pillows are comfy and restaurants onsite. I would have stayed at the Marriott if there was one close by. read more

Had a great experience with Double Tree up until the morning. Housekeeping walked in the room at 8:20am even though our check out was 12pm. Since we were asleep, didn't know who it was. Got to the door in my underwear as she walked in which was completely embarrassing. Front desk shifted responsibility to me, even though they had informed the day prior that housekeeping would only come if requested at least 24 hours in advance. They then continued to explain how I could have done something different such as put a do not disturb sign (which was not in the room), or but the extra little latch to stop her from entering the room. However, even that option would still entail her opening the door while guests are present. After having had such a sweet experience, I guess it just would've been nice if they had taken responsibility and offered something in response to their mistake. Otherwise, 5 stars. read more

The maids cleaning the rooms are master THEIFS, and will go through your things including your wallets & bags, with no consequences towards them because the hotel staff is all aware, and is clearly splitting profit. I really wish I could give a -10 star rating. Where do I begin... I booked this room for a wedding we were attending and I requested the balcony. When we arrived, there was no balcony. It was literally attached to the courtyard on the first floor. Not gate or fence or bars separating it, fine. We got over it. The couch had white stains all over it which was disgusting. Fine...got over that too since we're weren't sleeping on the couches. At night when we are done celebrating, we went to lay down and there was literally chunks of who knows what under the duvet. We go to the front to let the front desk person know and they informed us that they were sold out for the night and couldn't offer another room but gave us sheets to go change the bed ourselves. As we're changing the sheets, we noticed even more disgusting stuffs. The mattress cover looked like it had blood stains as well as every layer of sheets. My partner asked the front desk person to come to the room and his response was "is it an emergency?". When told no it wasn't an emergency but we really wanted him to check the room because it was absolutely disgusting, he mentioned that is we checked out at that moment we could receive a refund. It was 3:30am... But we left after that and will never go back. read more

Ridiculous Deposit!! I travel for work. I come into town, get a hotel, do my job, and then leave. I've stayed a nice hotels and I've stayed at bad hotels. This hotel is older, seemed clean. But I canceled my stay of 6 days at $148 per night. The deal breaker, $75 PER NIGHT Incidentals fee. That's $450 I have to pay to stay in case I damage something or buy something and charge it to my room? In 30 years of traveling I've never been hit with a $450 incidentals charge. Not even the Drake in Chicago where presidents stay charged this kind of ridiculous deposit. I will give Hilton the lowest marks I can on this property . Steve Gordon is the GM. Not even reachable and the desk manager was out on maternity leave. What a cluster. LaQuinta on the other hand does not charge a deposit. Card on file is all.. right across the interstate. read more

We were thrown out of the hotel today during a dart tournament. I went up to my room 15 minutes before check out (we actually had an extension until 12:30) and found staff at my door, harassing my mentally disabled and non verbal, 35 year old brother. When I approached and confronted the manager and the man with her, she immediately got defensive and started trying to blame my NON-VERBAL brother of something extremely inappropriate. I asked them to leave my room immediately and shut the door. I could then hear the manager running her mouth behind the door. I opened the door back up and confronted her again. At that time, she said she was calling the police to have the US removed. I went down to the front desk to report her (heard the staff talking about me in spanish at the elevator, i understood every word too) and that's when I found out she was the manager. AT that time, she accused my brother of walking in the hallway NAKED. Okay, so he teleported back to the room and got in with NO KEY (we had the keys), got dressed and was at the door when we arrived....fully dressed (exactly how he was when I left the room mind you). There were over 50 witnesses to this, and every single one said the same thing I did...IMPOSSIBLE due to my brother's disability. This woman used the fact my brother is non-verbal, to her advantage, but didn't account for the fact the dart community knows Adam and vouched for his character. They had the police make us leave an event we paid to be at because they were caught lying. To top it all off, they then charged our card $250 out of spite saying we smoked in the room when NONE of us are smokers. We will be calling the news and an attorney tomorrow read more

Dave IS here, man. The pool area and fitness area are among the best in this class for this type of hotel. The bedding, sheets and pillows are great. The common areas are clean and app the staff are friendly. But I have to call out the cheerful dedication that Dave brings to the pool upkeep. Stayed here and drove into Lowell for a several day event. The hotel worked out well. Quiet and comfortable for getting a good night's rest. Seems a bit expensive for something, at least from my perception, that is at least somewhat remotely located. The room and the hotel itself felt a little old and, yes, I saw the comment about this being a "newer" DoubleTree. Obviously your mileage might vary. read more

I'm saddened by the reality that management of this property, of such a reputable brand in the industry has gone ghost on a theft, ransack issue. As an event manager in the hospitality business for 20 years in the area, I will no longer recommend this property to any of our guest for our corporate events. This is a safety concern. Upon hearing about the theft that occurred at this property in a guest room, I am baffled at the fact that hotel management has yet to provide answers. Come on, The couple was in town for the death of their mother, and upon returning, their room was invaded and many items were stolen; money, credit cards, laptops and jewlery, charges were even made against the cards. For such a reputable brand in the industry, Im surprised the hotel has no footage of hallways or record of anyone entering their room while they were out. Where is the safety at this property?! How can one rest at peace knowing that at any given moment someone can enter. This is now beyond a violation of one's private safe place while away from home. I truly hope management is able to pull their weight, take full responsibility and at least investigate and take action over the issue as today, whomever broke into the room is roaming freely in the area with someone else's goods. We finally came out and told them to stop but that still didn't Front service looks so miserable and they messed up the brides suite and gave it out on accident. Had to move 3 of our guest rooms to different rooms because they were not doing the basics of taking down names with a wedding event and the excuse was that they were too many last names. Beautiful hotel with very comfortable beds. It's a bit removed from Boston proper (about 30 minutes) and is really close to the New Hampshire state line. They do have a nice front desk staff. IF you forgot toothpaste and toothbrush, among other things, they have everything you need. They did have an issue with brown water in the pipes. They said it was a city issue and they were working on it being resolved. However, I knew of this only because I had to call maintenance over for an issue, and they told me. My family and I went to Double tree Hilton because my brother was getting married and it was horrible. I'm only giving it 1 star because the room was descent. We ordered drinks and waited over an hour and 3 people in our party got there water downed drinks from sitting for so long the rest of us did not. Tried ordering food they keep telling us to wait they would be over .The bar tender was serving drinks up to the patrons at the bar that got there way after us rather then getting our drinks.We walked out. I complained to the desk they did nothing . I complained to the CEO they apologized in an email and said someone will be calling me . 1 week later and no one has contacted me. Wow. This place is filthy! We stayed here pre-covid and I don't remember any issues at all however this time we were put into three different rooms and all three were truly gross and unacceptably unclean. The house keeping staff needs to be retrained immediately. The first room they gave us on the first floor smelled badly. There was a funk in the air. Then I found a broken toilet paper dispenser with thick clumps of dust coming out of it as well as a poop stain under the seat, unclean soap holder in the shower and food or a dead bug behind the door. Clearly not cleaned well. The second room I was given also on the first floor also had a smell/funk, and there was a visible urine stain on the carpet (presumably from a pet) both by the front door as well as by the back patio door. I did not take pics of this. I told the front desk i was going to move hotels and the front desk lady, who was very nice by the way, promised a room in the 5th floor would be better. So i gave it a chance. All seemed well, the carpet seemed new, no gross smell so I took it. While brushing my teeth that night i noticed spots on the wall paper going up the wall. As i followed the spots across the wall to the white door jam i noticed more but they were red and the spots were actually blood. There was blood splatter all over the wall paper and door jam. See pics below. My favorite pictures are these ones of their stickers on the mirror highlighting hiltons cleaning standards. SMH I brought all of these issues to the front desk and showed them the pics and video I took. The GM was not apologetic at all nor did he offer any accommodation other than wiping the blood off the door jam. He seemed young and may have just graduated high school. In summary, i would never stay here again. It was simply gross. This hotel is in desperate need of a new GM as well as retraining the house keeping staff on Hilton cleaning standards. I always thought Hilton was a sure thing looks like i need an Air B&B next-time. read more

Absolutely fantastic hotel for the Andover area. As a dual Hilton Diamond and Marriott Platinum, I spend a lot of nights in hotel rooms. This is one hotel that I would gladly return to. The rooms are plenty spacious, with a great lineup of TV channels. The staff are accommodating, and had a complimentary upgrade ready for me on arrival. The Diamond breakfast was a buffet in their restaurant, so more than adequate. Parking is free in their large parking lot. The bathroom was recently upgraded with a nice glass shower. Everything about this room felt clean, and the beds were superb. I would highly recommend this hotel! read more

Good hotel for a business stay in the area. The lobby is updated and the staff were friendly. There is a restaurant and bar/pub on site. I especially liked the updated guest rooms. The headboard had ambient lighting that you could control from the bed along with charging stations built into the headboard. It was great for reading and using phones / computers in bed at night. The desk & leather office chair made for a comfortable space for working as well. My only complaint was the broken TP roll holder in the bathroom. The shower had a nice pressure. We dined in the hotel restaurant as a group. The service was slow but our server was friendly and kind. The food was decent for a hotel restaurant. My only complaint here was an advertised social hour / happy hour on the patio with a free pour and appetizers from 5pm-8pm. We were outside at 5pm and there was an empty bar set up. At around 545 pm there was a tuna app and celery with dip cups out in the heat with no one supervising the area. There was no wine tasting or pour available. After waiting until about 730, we went inside to dine in. When in the area again for business, I will be sure to book a stay here. read more

Just wished there was a changing area within the pool premises so we dont have to go up cold and wet. Room/bed: 5/5. GREAT for an overnight stay like we had. Room cleanliness 5/5.
