I'm judging based on my expectations for a Courtyard and my stay was pleasant. When I arrived, I asked what their pool hours were and was told the pool was closed temporarily for maintenance, but the woman at the front desk called my room later when it was open. I was planning on checking myself later, but it was thoughtful she followed up. The room was comfortable and clean with a big couch, there was plenty of parking, it was a little hard to find since it was farther up the road than I thought but it wasn't too hard to find. I didn't see the bistro area open (not sure if you have to ask at the front desk for someone) but the couches in the lobby were comfortable as I had to make a call after checking out so it was a great waiting area. The pool was big and indoors, there was a hot tub, and they had free wifi. There was also a fitness room I used that had a few machines and weights. It covered all the bases of what I need while travelling. read more

It is a nightmare to contact the Marriott, I have made 3 phone calls and no one could give the number to the actual hotel. I had a question and the people I spoke to couldn't answer. On my 4th call a very nice woman did help me and she got them on the line to answer my question, but could not get a direct number. What hotel doesn't give a direct number to their hotel; this is ridiculous. If the 4th person couldn't' help I would have gone to a different hotel. Management needs to fix this!!!!! read more

Ate breakfast here and asked for my eggs on the quinoa breakfast bowl to be over easy and they came out over hard which is a big swing and miss. I rarely send food back but had to on this one and 2nd try came out over easy. Restaurant wasn't busy and whoever cooked the eggs should have easily realized the 1st attempt needed to be scrapped and not brought out to the customer. Poor standards. read more

The courtyard Boston Andover is pretty much a 3 star establishment as it is located kind of off the beaten path however +1 additional huge star for having extremely comfortable beds! I mean the beds here are leagues above most of the other courtyards and hotels in this price classification. The hotel itself is actually quite nice as well, huge modern well appointed rooms and a nice spa, bistro and courtyard for you to get some r&r after a long day of work. Overall, this courtyard is a bit off the beaten path and dated on the outside, but service is solid and you'll definitely be able to get a good nights sleep here. My sister and I spent three nights at this Marriott. The room was clean the linens were well taken care of no stains. Bathroom was stocked with enough toilet paper and had soap and shampoo available. Downstairs we have access to a computer to print off our boarding passes and there was a nice Starbucks/restaurant in the lobby. Since we were there for a wedding, we had a Hot breakfast for the wedding party. It consisted of the regular eggs, bacon and potatoes. They were a little slow on replenishing the food. All in all it was a good trip and I would stay here again. read more

We reserved a handicapped room because my wife and I needed a shower we didn't have to climb into. So, on checking in and asking about the breakfast we were told we had to buy not only breakfast, but coffee as well. Now we've stayed at many hotels and EVERY one of them had a complimentary breakfast. OK....free coffee in the room........which tastes like dishwater. So, the bathroom smelled moldy, the beds were so high my wife could hardly get into it and there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. Will never stay at a Marriott again. read more

Two nights staying in Andover for a conference was made exponentially better by staying at this Courtyard location. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the property, rooms, staff, and most importantly, the beds. I would rank these beds as some of the top sleepers I've ever used in a hotel setting. I even checked the mattress name to see what they were using - two nights sleeping all the way through is a game changer for me. Food at the Bistro was above average and evening drinks in the bar were adequately priced and made well. If business brings me back to the area, I will definitely stay here again. read more

This hotel has been an absolute pleasure. My husband flew into Boston from Miami and has been staying there this past week because his father is ill. The customer service is beyond perfection. I got tired of having to walk around the hotel to get in; They lock the outside doors where you can't even use your room key to get inside. There's no parking at the front of the hotel so you get to walk around to the front after finding out your card key doesn't work. You can get as good a room and better service for the same price or less. read more

I do think this hotel rooms need to be cleaned. The glasses in my room were obviously very dirty the coffee pot was also incredibly dirty. I stayed here in August of 2011 for work which was only about a minutes drive away. I was in a 1 bedroom suite since I was staying for a semi-extended period of time. I really liked that they had a fridge in the room. The bed was very comfy - I also tried the residence inn nearby and the bed there was TERRIBLE compared to this bed. So if you like your pillow tops more than your firm mattress, definitely stay here over the residence inn. The internet is free but it isn't wifi - you have to connect through ethernet cord. If I only wanted to sit at the desk to use my computer the 3 foot cord they provided would have been fine, but since I wanted to be able to move around freely I bought a 20 foot cord at target instead. A slight inconvenience but not a big deal really. Everyone I talked to at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The only problem I ever had was that I had to leave earlier than I expected to for a personal emergency. At about midnight I went and informed the front desk that I would be checking out the next day. I left around 4am to catch my flight so when there was no receipt under my door I just thought I was ahead of schedule. I didn't discover until a couple weeks later when I got my credit card bill that they didn't check me out early. I called and notified them of this error and they rectified it immediately, so while it was an inconvenience they took care of it which I appreciate. I also had a few packages/ letters sent to me there, and since I left early I missed a couple and they actually mailed them back to me in Seattle! Very nice of them. Overall - great place. If I'm ever back in Andover I'll definitely stay there again. read more

I spent two nights in the Courtyard Marriott in Andover MA. The property is hidden in the trees off I-93, nearby Lowell Mass. It's been upgraded, but still seems to be a little behind in maintenance. My toilet valve never shut off the water, necessitating my removal of the lid to fix the thing. I was also in a room across from the icemaker that tended to make loud noises off & on. Of course, I could have requested a new room; however, sometimes it's just too much to repack & move. I just wanted to get to bed after a long day of travel. The Bistro serves prepackaged food. Breakfast was a microwaved bacon & egg on ciabatta that appeared to come from a plastic wrapper. I suppose a McD's Bacon Egg & Cheese would be about the same, but half the price. Anyway, it was an OK stay, but not the best place for me. read more

This is the best Courtyard Marriott that I have stayed at in a long time. All the employees are friendly, the lobby has just been nicely remodeled, it has a great business center. Overall- this property offers a great value. If you are in the Andover area, put this courtyard on the top of your list! read more

Well about all I can say about this hotel was the staff was very courteous. My room was ok but the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned and had hair on the floor. The chair in my room also had stains on it. A colleague checked into his room and was also greatest by an unclean room with stained furniture. The elevator also wasn't working as it was down for required modernizations. The staff does off to carry your bags if necessary. read more

I recently spent a second time at this hotel (the other time was in 2011). This is a great place to stay when in the area. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and attentive service are present and accounted for. Wasn't able to avail myself to the Bistro this time around, but from what I remember back in '11, it was pretty decent food. The big selling point for me is the location. It's golden. Set back quite a ways from the interstate, it's tranquil with no discernible highway noise. But I-93 is quickly accessible from the parking lot. It took all of 65 seconds (I timed it) from the lot to the entrance ramp for the expressway. Definitely recommended for a peaceful place to rest your head, but you can get to where you want to go in a very short time. read more

I went on a business trip anticipating to stay a month. I booked at the Courtyard but there were many issues with service that led me to switched after only two weeks. I would have left sooner but unfortunately it was during the holidays and I had to wait a week for other hotels to have availability. This was my review to them: There were numeral problems, which is why I chose to cut my stay by 2 weeks and change hotels. 1) elevator to my wing never worked througout my stay. 2) Staff booked me in a room where elevator didn't work, knowing I would be there for a month. 3) hallway on my floor had a grape sitting on the same spot for almost the two weeks I was there. Making me wonder about the cleanliness in my room. 4) Being that I had a prolonged stay, 30 days, I asked manager if it was possible to get a courtesy microwave. I was told that those are reserved for the suites only (I travel often, every hotel has OFFERED me a microwave to accommodate my stay). 5) Price of the food is too high. 6) Food is NOT made fresh. I ordered a hamburger and when I asked for "well done" I was told it was precooked. I paid over $8 for that. 7) I ordereed desert another evening, supposed to be a strawberry lime cake. I was given a slice of COLD lemon pound cake from what Starbucks offers (at Starbucks $1.95 to $2.25), this slice was then "spruced up" by surrounding it with whipped cream and adding strawberries on the side. For this, I was charged over $6. 8) I felt that the staff, although "friendly" and polite, did not go above and beyond to make me feel welcomed or comfortable, specially given my extended stay. Reception staff would be hovered by the Bistro chatting, I would have to go to them to ask a question instead of them meeting me. 9) I was finally fed up and spoke to manager about wanting to cut my stay short and I told him I was SWITCHING hotels. He NEVER asked me if there were problems with my stay or why I wanted to switch. His response was to make sure I inform the front desk about my early check-out. This hotel needs a total staff overhaul and a manager that knows the meaning of HOSPITALITY. I was away from my home for a month on business and I never was made to feel like a valued guest. I felt as if I was in their way and that my money and business were not welcomed. That being said, I switched hotels. I have also told the supervisor in my office not to recommend the Andover Courtyard for any future travelers. Let me tell you, since my arrival a month ago we've had 3 more travelers and several more coming to do 30 day rotations in the coming months. The Courtyard will NOT see their business. read more

Pros: 1: East access to several freeways 2: Incredibly inexpensive (plus, discounts for AAA, corporate discount, Marriott Rewards discount) 3: Very clean and extremely dark in the morning 4: Let us stay an extra hour w/o charge when we overslept and missed checkout Cons: 1: No cell phone coverage in the room and they charge for local calls 2: Woman working there argued with me when I explained that my corporate discount normally covers free local calls 3: Deadbolt wasn't working in one of the rooms that we stayed in 4: Internet gave us trouble in one of the rooms that we stayed in and when I called the front desk the dude was not that friendly about it. 5: One of the rooms came with a fridge and when we requested a fridge for the other room they were not all that friendly about it. Oh, and then the fridge froze everything. 6: TV had a somewhat bad connection, we kept losing cable. 7: First floor room had a giant sliding glass door that went right into the parking lot....not the safest idea imaginable. 8: Room right next to the checkout area wasn't very soundproofed, people checking in and out kept waking my husband up. 9: Out of say the five people that we dealt with that worked there only one of them was friendly. 10: Appears to be an older motel that was purchased by the Marriott chain and not really all that renovated. We have stayed in MUCH nicer Courtyard's! Why three stars and not two? You get what you pay for in this instance. We wouldn't stay there again but for the money we were happy enough with it. Plus, it was incredibly clean and the bed was huge. And seriously, having it be so close to several freeways really came in handy. read more

I would not stay here again. The beds you call "queen" beds are the same size as my children's double beds. Second I had to call everyday for towels. Either the maid would not leave a towel or they would only leave 2 towels for my family of 4. Lastly I had to have my key programmed 4 times. Kind of upsetting for the price I paid. Room was recently renovated and the balcony was a nice surprise. Great location. The majority of the hotel was booked with families attending a local dance competition with many of us returning to the hotel around 10pm at night. The bistro and bar was closed. Not too accommodating for those of us wanting to relax with a drink at the end of a very long day/weekend. And a beer was $6!!!!! What??!!! read more

I love The hotel snobs on here.....its a damn Courtyard Marriott. You didnt pay for thr 4 Seasons, you booked an upper tier budget hotel. The Courtyard is a clean, budget hotel that is fine for a business traveler staying 1 or 2 nights. Room was large, had a balcony and was clean. The Bistro is the on-site "restuarant" and it really isn't a restuarant, but a place to but prepackaged foods. But hey, you can get a spinach salad. Kinda lousy wine selectoon. Nice free weight selection in addition to cardio equipment in the gym. Decent place. read more

What an excellent place to stay! From the moment I checked in to the swift and painless check out this morning, I have definitely had a great experience here. The room was clean, neat, and spacious and wow, that bed was heavenly! The staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating. There was an even an NFL kickoff party last night--how can you not love free cake and popcorn?! All in all I would definitely recommend the Courtyard, whether it's a short term or longer stay. Hey, for the price its not so bad. There are a number of more expensive options in the area that really aren't much better. The place is recently updated, but you can still feel the 80's when you walk in the halls. The staff is friendly but a little cold when you ask for extra towels. Overall, not a bad hotel. read more

I was bumped from my original hotel and had to arrange for a new place to stay the day before I left for LA to Boston. 1) Prepackaged, prefab hotel, nothing unique, 2) Food is a joke, though the food service person was friendly. 3) TV reception is poor, picture is repeatedly pixillated (I noted that this has been mentioned by others - apparently it didn't cause the hotel to make the fix) 4) Lots of plugs in the room - a good thing. 5) Remote location - nothing around the location of any value. GREAT bistro. We ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were very tasty. Our room was very clean and updated a little small but perfect we had a king size bed. They have Paul Mitchell products for the shampoo and conditioner great for my hair. Every staff member was sweet and smiled Wall Street Journal an USA today at the door.
