We just wanted to stop by somewhere to get food before we lost signal and we stumbled upon Lion Mountain Bakery from following the signs on the road. We were surprised to see what was inside. Around 11am there was a performer singing some sweet neologisms. There were also lots of art that you can purchase, some books that you're able to check out. I'm guessing this is where the people of Oakridge come to get work done because there were ample seats and WiFi set up. In fact, there were a couple people getting work done when we got here. What we got: Breakfast burrito $9 Breakfast sandwich $9 Shriek breakfast sandwich $10 Quiche $6- goes well with ketchup and green Tabasco sauce Triple Timber $6- specialty drink that has: hazelnut+caramel mocha with 3 shots of espresso The Roaring Lion $5.5: vanilla chai tea latte with 2 shots of espresso. There were also affordable baked goods like cookies, scones, abs brownies depending on what you're craving. I read a review that someone mentioned it took a while to get a sandwich. The lady at the front mentioned that there would be a wait time of 30 minutes because they had a limited space at the grill- so it was nice we were warned beforehand. Stop by here for your road trip meals and snacks :)

That being said, the food I got was not very good. I guess I overestimated what an Asian rice bowl coming from a pub in a small town would be like, but it was much too sweet, salty, and overly sauced to the point where it was like eating a bowl of wet rice. I am not a picky person and will usually eat things that aren't my favorite for the sake of not wasting food, but I really struggled with this. I hate writing bad reviews because I know owning a restaurant is hard, but that is my honest opinion about the food. Warning: if you have dogs, there is a huge vine of grapes attached to the fence of the outdoor seating area out front. We moved to a dingy side area to avoid the possibility of our dogs eating a grape. There were cobwebs under the table and a man walked around us to spray pesticides on the weeds in the concrete, while we were eating and while our dogs were standing there. There was a dog water bowl near where he was spraying that we stayed far away from. Service was fine, but overall, a meh experience.

Winnie, the new owner/operator, is simply delightful. A personable, friendly person, who shows sincere interest in her clients. The atmosphere is a mix of old and new, making it calm and enjoyable. The food is made individually, with an option of Winnies homemade spices or no spices for the more delicate palate. Our order consisted of appetizers of Shrimp egg rolls, which were scrumptious. The main dish consisted of Pork noodles, Pad Thai and crab fried rice; each bring wonderful taste sensations. Looking forward to trying many other dishes in the future. The meal portions were wonderful along with a fair price. You can tell, Winnie enjoys her work and pleasing her customers greatly.
