I have a Louis Vuitton hand bag that has been repaired by LV a bunch of times and within months of getting it back the plastic seem of the handle starts to peel up. I brought it in to Double H and explained the problem they offered a great solution and for a great price. I went into this establishment with 6 pair of AGL shoes. AGLs are an Italian shoe which, if purchased at Nordstrom new, cost $360.00 per pair. I do not pay that for them. I buy them on ebay. But I have them in many color and leather combinations. I needed new heel on all, and heel guards of 3 pair. I also wanted two pair to be polished. I walked into the store where I was the only customer, and when I greeted the large tattooed man, I got no return greeting. I commented that the store was really nice. Nothing. So I removed the shoes from the bag, told him what I wanted, and he proceeded to add numbers on a machine. He ripped off a paper and presented it to me, saying, "This is what it will cost." The number on the paper was $356.00. THREE HUNDRED FIFTY SIX DOLLARS. I began putting shoes back into my bag, saying, "I am sorry to have wasted your time. That's a LOT to re-heel 6 pair of shoes." He then began telling me how minimum wage has gone up, blah blah blah. After inquiring from neighbors as to where they get their shoes repaired, I took them to a shoe repair on Goodwin in Prescott. $52.00 for what this business wanted $356.00 to do. I really don't know what this guy's deal was. I see other people on here talking about good pricing, good customer service, etc. The man was RUDE, and outrageously overpriced. Beware. read more

Bizarre is the only way I can describe my experience dealing with this business! I make custom knives as a hobby and needed 3 right hand "danglers" made for kydex knife sheaths. I went in, took a sheath for pattern fabrication and two very clear pictures of hybrid sheaths so he could see EXACTLY how I wanted them made. I brought some brass rings for the dangler and instead decided to go with "D" rings he had in stock. He grabbed three brass D rings out of his inventory. As I was waiting, I saw some D rings in his inventory that were a little bigger and stronger. I asked him if he would use these instead. His reply was "I DON"T CARE, get what ever you want!" in a matter of fact attitude. I thought to myself; WHAT? YOU DON"T CARE? What kind of business owner say's such a thing to a customer? Well, we discussed what I wanted and left the two photo's with him, he said come back in 8 days. I returned 8 days later and he brought the sheaths out and when I looked at them, they were ALL left hand orientated! I told him these were wrong, they were left handed and I wanted them right handed. He told me it didn't matter, you could put it on the right too! I told him NO WAY! If you put it on the right, the blade orientation would have the knife blade backwards. He huffed and puffed, clearly agitated and tried to coerce me into accepting the sheaths. I said that's not what I wanted and he needed to re-do them for right hand use. He did not say a word! Grabbed his pliers and re-configured 2 of them and told me it might be a week or two before he did the third one because I had a friends name stenciled on it because it was a gift and he had to re-do the name. He was leaving to go somewhere and would not have it ready for a while. Being a gift, that time frame would not work so he said he MIGHT get to it before he leaves. Well, three days later, I called and was told it was ready. So I drove another 60 miles round trip from my home "Cost me another $30 in gas"! When I arrived, his wife waited on me, gave her my pick up ticket and she went to the back to get it. Well, the owner walked out with the dangler, sat it on the table top and never said a word. VERY STRANGE! I simply picked it up and walked out! I have NEVER been treated so rudely and practically ignored from a business owner in my life. He never apologized for his screw up nor thanked me for my business, I do believe I paid a PREMIUM for the products, almost $100, plus having to make extra trips with gas at $4.18 a gallon, another $30 and then to be treated so rudely! How this man is in business is beyond me, I will NEVER do business with him again! I try to support my local businesses as much as possible, but this guy does not show any appreciation for his customers and is rude as everything! read more

I needed new soles on some Red Wings work boots. they are top-of-the-line work boots and the 'standard' in quality of over half a century. Steve at Double H basically interviewed me abut how and where the work is done and where they will be used. A mine with hard sharp rock, water, acid and basically the worst conditions for any protective footwear. He presented over a dozen soul options and found one that was far superior than the OEN sole which was a foam cushion surrounded by a plastic out-sole in a Vibram tread pattern. Except the replacement sole he used, we solid Goodyear rubber and he stitched (versus the OEM) to the leather uppers. He also added nails in the heal to better insure there was no operation between the uppers and lowers. There are artisan craftsmen left that know the tools, material and how their work performs over time. Double H is one. Might not find such skills in a large city but you can find that lost art still here in Prescott. The service was fast - 1.5 weeks and the price less than half of replacing what is fundamentally a perfect work boot. Repair vs replace. read more

The people at this shop are fantastic! Friendly, informative and good at what they do, there is nothing more i could ask for from my new favorite shoe repair guys! They fixed two of my favorite pairs of shoes, both featuring stiletto heels, in about two days. The price was only $7.50 per pair, which is reasonable considering the quality of craftsmanship. I also enjoyed looking around the store, full of Arizona gold mining and ghost town books. They also sell and repair leather and especially boots. Oh! I went into Double H to have 2 patches sewn onto my leather vest. Steve was recommended to me by a friend who had a positive experience with him and said he did good work. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly woman who directed me to talk to Steve. Steve was not exceptionally friendly, almost like I had interrupted his lunch or something, but did go about carefully positioning the patches on my vest. It was obvious that he pays very close attention to detail and was conscientious to be sure the two patches were accurately centered. He then said Ill be back in 10 minutes. On his return he grumpily handed me the vest with the patches perfectly sewn and positioned. We then walked to the register where he told me that will be $50. please. It took him no longer than 15 minutes total. I don't know if I did something offensive but it was apparent that he did not enjoy sewing patches. I have two friends who had him work on their vests and did not charge near that much. But at $200 an hour you would think he would at least grin as he took my money. Looking at some of his other work it is apparent that he is indeed a craftsman and no doubt can repair your boot or custom make you a fitted holster, but I shudder at what something like that would cost. I think based on my experience I will not be bothering him with my business again. read more
