I can't stop thinking about Eberly…read more Value: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Texturally exquisite. Addicting depth and balance dishes we had: 1. The beef tartare was the first to be cleaned. Our favorite starter. 2. Apple cashew salad was a refreshing take on a pad thai. 3. Tempura mushrooms were incredibly memorable in umami, sweetness, acidity, and perfect fry. Highly recommend for a comforting shareable. 4. Lobster spaghettini was a justified lobster pasta take - something you can't always say when you take chances on lobster pasta. They use the carcass of the lobster on the generous, silky beurre blanc which was worth a soup spoon. 5. Half chicken and parisian gnocci was a great alternative for a typical body builder meal. Perfectly tender and the fried gnocchi was delicious. Bonus: - Shoutout to Chris, our server, who made us feel welcomed like friend. We learned so much about the location's genesis and architecture which made it that much more interesting. - A true NY-inspired must-experience gem. Please see the structure of the patio and the ship-sourced sun room private space they have. Nice to know: - Complimentary valet - The Cedar Tavern is adjacent and next on our list for happy hour! However, I'd be surprised if we don't come back to dine at Eberly first. - Don't sleep on the caviar and dessert!

We drove from NOLA to Austin with reservations here at 7p on a Monday (thank you for being open…read moreMonday or we'd never have been able to experience this)! The establishment is even grander than the photos make it out to be... massive rooms peppered with large wooden beams; tables; and ironworks throughout. There were two other tables finishing up, and us. Our 40-something waiter had just the right balance of casual earthiness and professional attentiveness to match the stateliness of this restaurant. I ordered the Double Feature (Mezcal, hibiscus, ginger) $17 and she her usual "old fashioned" Montecristo (rye, highland park, cynar) $18. Both were fabulous. For apps we noticed charred/tossed brussles with one of the entrees and asked our waiter if that could be an appetizer (not on the menu) and he promptly said Done! It was terrific. For entrees she ordered the Texas Wagyu Strip $48 and I had my go-to fav whenever I see it on a menu: Short Rib $40. See the menu pics for the sauces and sides, suffice to say... incredible. By 8p we were the only occupants left in this cathedral-like establishment and ended up lingering until 9:45, ordering another drink and then one of THE best desserts I have ever had... the Guinness Chocolate Cake (with pumpkin puree, candied quinoa, and maple/choc ice cream) $12. We agreed that the candied quinoa was over the top - adding a delightfully subtle crunch to every bite in this richly dark choc dessert. After realizing that for the past hour we were keeping the bartender, host, waiter, and kitchen singlehandedly at our beckon call, we quietly dropped a c-note for a four-way tip. Thank you folks for the beautiful welcome wagon and chance to unwind and reconnect after 9 hours on the highway!

This is why the line was not as long as it typically is. They were out of brisket, ribs, and sausage when we were able to order. One should go about an hour earlier if they want to get those. This place is so worth it. The turkey was 12/10. It was nothing like I have ever had. It had flavor and was juicy like chicken. The pulled pork was 10/10. The slaw was not much to my liking but the beans and potato salad were good. There were cups for free water. They had vinegar, normal, espresso, and spicy barbecue sauce. I do not normally like barbecue sauce but Franklins is great. The spicy one was perfect. Overall, I thought waiting an hour was great. With the food we were able to get I understood why people wait hours. I recommend bringing a water for the wait and comfortable shoes while you wait in line.

So I finally decided to go try Franklins and brave the line. I arrived on a weekday at 1130am and…read morethe line was not bad. Maybe an hour. I love how people are giving this place a 1 star because they are popular and the line is long sometimes, I mean come one so stupid. This place is small and it's amazing how they can crank out as much bbq as they do. It's impressive. I got almost to the front of the line around 1230pm and they were already almost out of ribs, so go early. I got a 1/2lb of Brisket, 1/4lb of turkey, 3 bones of ribs, and one link of the jalapeño cheddar sausage, my side I did was potato salad. I'll give my honest review down below on each item. Brisket- 1000/10, best I have ever had. It was well seasoned, juicy, smoky, fatty in the right way and just so tender and delicious. Spectacular. Turkey- another 1000/10, it's so juicy and and tender. They season it but not heavily which is great since Turkey is a mild tasting meat. I would definitely get this again! Ribs- 6/10, and I love ribs. To me the seasoning on these was so thick it just overpowered the taste of the pork. All I could taste was pepper on it. It was good but I would personally pass on this item next time. Sausage- 1000/10, again so good. It was spicy due to the jalapeños but not overly, the cheese was nice and there was a good snap to the casing. The smoke added a nice touch to the fattiness of the sausage. Potato salad- 3/10, to me this was not a good take on potato salad. Not much texture in it like celery or something like that and all I could taste was vinegar. I like acid in my food but this is all I could taste. So it wasn't for me. Overall when I go next time I will be loading up on brisket, turkey and sausage! These items are amazing, maybe try another side, their beans looked really good. GO OUT AND EAT SOME BBQ!!

It wasn't great a little spicy with a different texture because of the minced protein that seemed like ground beef. The wedge salad was over the top great. The dressing was some of the best blue cheese that I have ever tasted. I had the famous Perry's pork chop for the 1st time. It was incredible! So tender and so much meat that I could not finish half of it. Even with a little help. My friend had the salmon moist and perfectly prepared. The accompaniments were wonderful with grilled to eggies and mashed potatoes. The corn brulee was a little too sweet for me but my friend loved it. Definitely have to have that pork chop another time

We had an appetizer version and it was incredibly tender, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. You can tell why it's what they're known for. The steak I ordered was made to order perfect, as I like it mad rare and mooing, but had heavy seasoning on it. Not sure if that is signature to Perry's, as I'd personally rather let a good cut of steak speak for itself. It took away from the natural flavor, so I'd ask for no seasoning next time. Between the ambiance, service, and overall quality, I would definitely go back.

The bed was super comfortable, the location was exceptional and walkable to everywhere I wanted to go while my friend was working. The staff members were super nice and I really enjoyed the flavored waters in the lobby and that the reception desk gave us bottles of water when we checked in. I so wish I'd taken a picture of the shower! The shower was luxurious and I started each day feeling like I was showing in a spa. I definitely will stay here again next time I am in Austin!

Excellent desk space for working. Bathroom spacious, nice walk in shower, good water pressure but they treat the water a touch too soft for my preference. Decent counter space. Marriott pet peeve - the TV menu describes how to connect your device to HDMI2 and use the TV as a display. Then the hotel installs the TV hard against the wall so there's actually no way to get to HDMI2, or any inputs. I'd usually knock off a star for this failure, but the hotel has both Netflix and Prime, so there's enough to watch to get by, and you're out exploring Austin most of the time anyway. If there's a negative here it's the convention crowds. When there's no convention in process the lobby space is excellent. Convention starts and it's a sea of rowdy drinking conventioneers.
