I always check if they are available first for any of my events because they are so good just like her decor.

Originally my husband and I were thinking we'd coordinate the whole thing ourselves since we are both accustomed to managing projects, but I am so glad I had friends ask me "do you really want to be preoccupied with the details on your big day?" I tend to like to double- or triple- check that things are taken care of, so on the day of I still did a little texting with the make-up person and photographer to confirm arrival times, and found that Lorraine had already been in touch with them and we were aligned on timing for everything. No detail slipped through the cracks with Lorraine; she did a stellar job of keeping it all organized and making everything look beautiful! It was also wonderful to have Jess with me for most of the day -- she even helped with bustling my dress right after the ceremony! They did so many thoughtful things throughout the day, like having water ready and bringing us appetizers since we missed out on most of cocktail hour for photos. It was also incredibly helpful to have Lorraine accompany us as we visited each table at the wedding reception during dinner; she kept us on a ~1.5 min/table timeline that allowed us to at least briefly engage with everyone. The end of the night was also stress-free with their help; they cleaned everything up and had it loaded into our car (with help from a couple wedding attendees we had asked to help in advance of the wedding) in no time. I interviewed 6 or 7 other wedding coordinators once we decided to have a coordinator, and Lorraine stood out from the rest, and truly delivered on a level that exceeds many of the wedding planners I encountered during our search!

The biggest hurdle of our planning process was probably the fact that I was 2,000 miles away in Georgia, from our wedding venue in Los Gatos. Lorraine was super flexible and was great when it came to communication. I emailed her on MULTIPLE occasions freaking out about the smallest details of the wedding and Lorraine was able to resolve my erratic concerns not only professionally, but also in a long-time-BFF kind of way. Lorraine is the most down-to-earth wedding planner I've encountered (and trust me, I consulted with many) that is also SUPER organized. I didn't have to worry about a thing! If I had any questions regarding budget, timeline, deadlines, etc, all I had to do was ask her and she would have the answer for me. Lorraine did everything in her power to make my wedding day and the days leading up to the wedding, go as smoothly and stress-free as possible. Now moving onto the actual wedding day. Oh boy, was I a wreck. I started to panic probably a full 48 hours before the big day. In hindsight, that was such a waste of my time and energy, because everything went just as planned. And the DETAILS! I was totally off wedding-mode the last few months of the planning process and trusted Lorraine with all the details. This is a very unusual thing for me to do because I like to know everything that will happen, down to every last little detail. I was definitely not let down and everything looked BEAUTIFUL and just as I pictured. Everyone was raving about the decor/flowers/details and when you see the pictures, you can see why. Where do I even begin? Frances and her team at Charmed Events are truly wedding planning magicians!…read moreWith 14 years of experience as a Floral and Event Designer myself, I've had the privilege of working with some of the best planners in California. When it came to planning my own Carmel Valley wedding, there was no question in my mind - Frances was the one! Having collaborated with Frances over the years, I've always been struck by her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuinely warm personality. Her design aesthetic is just dreamy - romantic, modern, and effortlessly sophisticated. There's a certain magic in the weddings she designs, always infused with personal touches that make them feel special and unique to the couple. Throughout my wedding planning journey, I gained a newfound appreciation for Frances from a client's perspective. She not only listened attentively to our ideas but also transformed them into a breathtakingly cohesive design concept that perfectly reflected us as a couple. Every detail was just beautiful! Also, amidst some issues that arose with the venue, Frances proved to be our steadfast ally and advocate, navigating unforeseen challenges with grace and diplomacy, ensuring every detail was ironed out. As the wedding approached, Frances introduced us to her principal planner and right-hand woman, Emily. Together, these two are a powerhouse duo! While Emily handled logistics such as transportation, vendor coordination, and timeline, Frances focused on executing the design vision flawlessly. As a complete bonus to their already awesome services, Frances also personally designed all of our signage, menus, seating charts, and programs. Personally, I would have had her design my invitations had I known of her talents sooner! On the big day, Frances and Emily were our guardian angels, orchestrating every moment with precision and grace. Emily's attentive care during the morning-of made me feel like a princess. She brought me and my bridesmaids delicious bites, made sure my dress and veil were perfect during first look photos, and her calming presence helped to ease my nerves. Meanwhile, Frances was busy overseeing the vendors, and set up of the ceremony and reception, which were honestly executed to perfection. The reveal of each space took our breath away and exceeded all expectations. It was truly a fairytale come to life! One more thing I want to mention about these two was that they really listened to our request to make sure that the wedding didn't feel rushed, and that we even had some moments with just the two of us. The timeline was so thoughtfully crafted that on the big day, it really didn't feel like the "blur" that everyone talks about. We were able to be present with each other, and even visit with our guests during cocktail hour and reception. There was a sense of ease about the day that allowed me to really just take it all in, and I think that is very special. Thanks to Frances and Emily, our wedding day was stunningly beautiful, perfectly orchestrated, and absolutely unforgettable. If you're in search of a planner who embodies competence, professionalism, and impeccable style, look no further. With Charmed Events, you'll receive the five-star treatment you deserve and an exceptionally magical day tailored just for you!
