Because the Holiday Cocktail Party that my company was planning was for over 1000 people we decided that it would be best to hire an Event Planner to execute our vision and plan. When we were referred to Young, I took a look at her Yelp reviews and was so excited to see and read about all of the personal touches and unique designs that she brought to her events. However, when we did a walk-through of our space and sat down to talk with Young, her team, and her vendor, Fine Linen Creations (http://www.yelp.com/biz/fine-linen-creations-san-jose-2), I began to become a bit concerned. Young and her vendor kept pushing fresh cut bouquets and an exorbitant amount of draping. We were very very very clear on a multitude of occasions that we did NOT WANT all fresh cut flowers at $75/piece. We found them to be a waste of money as well as just a waste in general because they are disposable. We discussed that since we would have over 60 tables, that we should do flowers on some tables and on the other tables do some Poinsettias, festive branches, ornaments, etc. These items would add uniqueness as well as extreme cost savings, to which one of her assistants rolled her eyes at me. We expressed extreme concern that we did not want to spend our budget on a ton of draping and chair covers and we were looking for a very fun festive Holiday feel and that we did not want it to be stuffy, formal, or wedding-like. We offered up a lot of specific ideas on decor, layout, etc. We clarified that we wanted to have decor in the foyer as well as on the patio, which had views that were absolutely gorgeous. We signed off on the floor-plans and details prior to our event. But then, on the night of our party, we show up and walk in to a Foyer without the decor we discussed and look out on to a patio with no decorations (both wasted opportunities). As I walked through the floor to ceiling draping I entered a room with 60+ tables all adorned with huge floral bouquets and RED ROSE PETALS sprinkled around them, Pretty...FOR A WEDDING OR A PROM! The layout was not as we had agreed upon nor did they execute the ideas that we were very specific about. The venue removed our food 1 1/2 hours after our event started which left everyone 3 more hours of a party where they were drinking with no food available. If this was the venue's decision, it should have been addressed immediately by Young and her Team. We were the clients, paying her a ton of money, and our needs and wishes were, for the most part, ignored.

She provided multiple vendor options, communicated closely with them and us throughout the bidding and hiring process, and ensured we were all on the same page from planning through the walkthrough and up to the day of the event. One of the greatest things about this process was the clear, concise communication and organization that made planning, payments, and decision-making understandable, step by step, rather than a labyrinth of crossed wires and deadlines.  The day of our wedding was as effortless as could be. It was great to have the team from Two Perfect Events, along with Yoko and Leo, there to assist with setting up and taking down decorations and rentals, help guide guests, event staff, and our vendors, and ensure everything, including our deliveries and rentals, went according to plan. We also appreciated that our planners kept an eye on both of us the entire night to ensure we were doing well and enjoying the festivities, getting our food, making sure we were at the right place at the right time, and saving any items for our personal requests. We did not expect that Two Perfect Events would take behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the entire day and the in-person walkthroughs, which gave us a chance to reminisce on the process and quickly provide a glimpse of our families and friends outside the eyes of our wonderful wedding photographers.  We appreciated that our vendors were all in sync, and the coordinators ensured our entire process minimized the stress of planning, which was what we had hoped for all along. They provided us with good advice on choosing vendors, insurance for our wedding, and what to expect when working with multiple parties. It was evident that Two Perfect Events had considered multiple contingencies and scenarios in which snafus or unexpected issues may arise throughout the process, and we were glad that Yoko was always prepared for them, including giving us enough buffer time due to traffic delays so our guests could arrive on the big day.  Everyone complimented us on the evening, and it went by so smoothly. They commented that this was the least stressful and most fun wedding they've been to in a long time, which conveyed the vibe we were going for. We wanted it to be a fun yet intimate evening where everyone enjoyed getting together to celebrate, and we were delighted to celebrate that day with them. We worked with Amazae from the moment we knew we wanted to get married (before we got engaged,…read moretechnically. Ha). Both of us are extremely busy re: our jobs and knew that we wouldn't be able to dedicate enough time to truly planning an event of this scale. If you're on the fence, go with Amazae. My husband, before we hired Amazae, was on the fence of whether or not we needed planning services. I told him that if we did not hire someone that there would be no wedding. By the time we had finished our venue search, he knew that I was totally right re: the amount of help you get by leveraging someone else's expertise. You do this once (hopefully) in your life. Amazae does this all the time. Amazae knew all the ins and outs of every venue that we could possibly think of in the Bay Area, Carmel, and Napa. They were able to tell us who was beer and wine only, who had a 10pm end time because of noise ordinances, and who required you to use certain caterers that were $x per head. This will save you SO much time and save you visits to random places that don't meet your requirements. Vendor sourcing - they are super good at this re: figuring out (or making you figure out what you like) who matches your style for every vendor, then finding one that fits in your budget. Most importantly, they will make sure everyone shows up (join any wedding FB group and read some horror stories). They will help you with all of the contracting and the collection of COIs, etc. Again, this would have been IMPOSSIBLE for myself and my now husband. We literally do not have the hours in the day to do this. This team is on top of everything - they will chase you down if they need to for answers for pieces of your event. They can make anything happen - from the weirdest requests to the most mundane. They are so professional, and they really make your wedding super personal. Amazae designed and executed a beautiful event from beginning to end that felt so authentic to us. Day of, they were there to take care of everything, and it was truly a flawless day. We could not asked for a better planner re: Crystal, Kaila, and the rest of the team. We put full trust in them re: the design of this event and the day of. Example: I honestly did not know what florals were going to be there, but they were so stunning. The strength of the Amazae team is in their ability to bring you and your personality into an event that is mostly structured a certain way. They also make your day as stress-free as possible. I cannot say enough positive things about this team and their ability to make your wedding great. If you're down to hand things off to someone else, I would say hand it off to them. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is hard, even a micro-wedding. You don't want to be cake…read moretasting or menu tasting, so you rely on experts. That's why we decided to hire an event planner for our daughter's wedding in January 2021. Even though it was a small backyard wedding, we wanted it to be memorable and elegant. We interviewed 3 different event planners, and got 3 rough quotes, all around the same ballpark. Amazae's quote, however, was the most detailed, breaking down a high & low range for each item (food, florals, rentals, photography, etc.) It was an easy choice to contract with them. Crystal came onsite for our first meeting, and I really didn't have a lot for her to go on. My daughter isn't the Pinterest type, so I just told Crystal the wedding colors and showed her pictures of the wedding gown and bridesmaid gowns. The rest of the planning was all done via zoom, emails, and a few phone calls. We worked mostly with Caitlin, who is an amazing planner. Each step along the way, she gave us several options to choose from. For example, she provided a list of 4 photographers, their quote for the day, their profile, their gallery, etc. Once all of our choices were made, she put together a design deck that gave us a preview of the entire wedding. It was more gorgeous than I envisioned. On the day of the wedding, Lisa came out to set everything up. She even picked up the florals and wedding cake to save us the delivery fees. It was a little hectic when I met her, and I probably spent 5 minutes with her showing her where everything was before we left for the church ceremony. And when we came back, she was driving off, leaving behind a magical transformation of yard. Everyone was stunned. The catering crew then took over and prepared a "Top Chef" level meal. And when they left, my kitchen was as clean as when they arrived. My husband commented, "Whatever we paid for this wedding, it was worth every penny." Haha. True. It was without hesitation that I hired Rachael to be my partner in crime to plan my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner for 50 guests - which I was hosting. I wanted to be actively involved with the planning and execution - but with work and family, I also didn't want to be too stressed. Working with Rachael, I was able to strike the right balance. I hired Rachael for a set amount of hours for her expertise in creating a cohesive look and feel, as well as design and production of key pieces of collateral. LOCATION & CONTRACT I had already decided on the location and signed a contract with the restaurant for a private dining room before I hired Team Cruz Productions. Because Rachael has such deep experience with events in our area, she was very familiar with other events at the same venue. The truly impressive part is that Rachael successfully renegotiated my contract minimums, thereby saving me $500. The restaurant manager has only had complimentary comments about Rachael and told me that "she is very detailed and REALLY knows what she is doing." COLLABORATION Rachael and I worked together to pull off this event. We started by sharing a Pinterest board. She found themes from everything I pinned and narrowed down a color palette, centerpiece idea and general look & feel for the graphic design pieces. We went to the flower mart together and she showed me exactly what to buy to pull together the centerpieces I had envisioned (or, as Pinterest had envisioned for me!). DELIVERABLES A distinct skill that Rachael brings is graphic design. This really helps streamline the event planning process because it eliminates another vendor - and because she is working directly with you, her client - there is nothing to get lost in translation. Rachael custom designed the invitation, menu cards, name tags, favor bag and greeting poster for us. She handled all professional printing. Because I wanted to be involved in some of the work, I got out my glue gun and assembled the name tags. COMMUNICATION Rachael communicated with me constantly throughout the planning process. She knows that I get busy with work and family, so when we were up against deadlines, she would text me reminders. She also texted me on the day of the event and followed up the day after. She takes great interest in you and your event and her customer service shows that. I am already trying to come up with another reason to throw a party just so I can work with Rachael again!

She made sure to include BOTH kids in the planning and put together a truly spectacular event. The adults couldn't stop talking about what a great time they had, how beautiful it was and how well organized. Rachael made sure that all guests were taken care of at the party, no matter what their individual dietary needs. It was truly flawless and I was able to relax and enjoy myself without a care in the world. Before the party, Rachael put together gorgeous hotel welcome bags and her creativity is endless. She designed an amazing logo for the two kids that we were able to use on everything from the invitations to the centerpieces. She even figured out a way to get it onto the light fixtures in the ballroom, which was a lovely surprise for us when we arrived. She found the perfect centerpiece idea and helped us implement it.
