The pizza has changed since the business was bought. The crust isn't the same! Still a convenient and friendly stop to or from the lake.

My family has been eating Doster's pizza since I was a kid. My uncle, a very picky pizza eater, loves Doster's. We get pizza for pick-up pretty much every time our family gets together to visit my grandparents at Pine Lake. The sauce and cheese are delicious. Topping selection is basic but tasty. The pick-up time is usually about 20-30 minutes.The service is friendly and quick. They don't have a website, so you've got to order over the phone. I think they've got a menu on their Facebook page but it's pretty much just what you'd expect from a pizza spot. You can imagine how sad I was when I realized I was gluten-intolerant. What would I do without my beloved Doster's? Sitting in sadness while my family chows down. To my excitement and pure joy, I discovered they've got gluten-free crust! Yahoooooo! They have a 12" GF crust - a little bit of an up charge but that's the standard. If you've got two GF people, I'd recommend you each get your own because just 1/2 a pizza won't be enough! read more

Convenient location. The only gas station within a 16 minute drive. Wish they would modernize their gas pumps and building tho.

I've had pizza delivered a few times and it's always good. My nephew still tells me how good that pizza was we ordered (a large sausage and mushroom) :) the delivery folks are always nice too. Doster has broke my heart!!!! I have always loved the subs. Perfect amount of meat layer in a wave and not a stack within the best sub bun. Not today! A junk bun! Flat and no flavors. So so so sad. I hope this was only an have too because they were out ( which in over 30 years have never experienced) and this will not happen again. This is a hard review for me. Forever ago the pizzas here were absolutely to die for. We'd drive out of our way to get one. Now I live within walking distance and don't eat here too often. The pizzas are still good but unfortunately, they're inconsistent. Sometimes their is a wide crust because they didn't put cheese very close to the edges and other times the cheese goes very close to the edge. They put cornmeal one the bottom of their crust and sometimes, there is way too much. My husband prefers none, but that's how they make it. They used to have a chicken salad sandwich that I RAVED about and could've eaten everyday. Then, one day they put dill weed in it. it totally ruined it for me. I love dill but personally, I don't think it belongs in chicken salad. I'd like to know why they changed the recipe after so many years. Sometimes their subs are made perfect and sometimes not so much. Sometimes they barely bake them so the cheese is hardly melted and other times they do it right. Sometimes their sub bread is much skinnier than others. It's safe to say that ordering food from the Doster Store is like playing roulette. You might hit the jack pot and you might be totally let down. I do have to say they have a great beer selection. They now serve Mooville Ice Cream (used to be Hudsonville). If you'd like a shake or soft serve ice cream they serve that too. They also serve breakfast which is pretty good. I've tried the breakfast sandwiches and haven't been disappointed. The biscuits and gravy is ok, it's more of a white gravy. I do like that they have lots of different items in their store. So if you're on your way to the lake, a country cruise or in my case, on your way home, you can get buns, beer, wine, chips, frozen meat & veggies, canned goods and so much more. I love the old country store feel with the creaky wood floors too. Fingers crossed this review might make them decide to train everyone the exact same for some consistency in the kitchen. read more

Purchased a 16 inch sausage and mushroom pizza. I saw very few mushrooms and couldn't even taste or see it had any sausage. So I will not attempt to drive to get another pizza. I also ordered a meatball 8 inch sub, ok. bit not worth the drive... it's gone down hill. Expensive and not worth the trip. This is the most unassuming, fantastic pizza you will find in the greater Kalamazoo area. Do not be fooled by the country gas station vibe. If you want great pizza, this is the only place in Kalamazoo to order from. It is a local gem that deserves to be on the map as far as Michigan Pizza is concerned. The crust thickness is your classic hand tossed, the toppings are generous, and the cheese is absolutely wonderful mozzarella! I lived in the area 20 years ago and had their pizza then and thought it was great. When my stepdaughter moved to the area I recommend it to them and now that I again live in the area have and will be having their pizza. It is still as good as I remember. read more
