This is literally the best place that ever happpened in Mexican food life!!!! The ambiance is so much fun and there's always something new to look at. The food..... oh the food is rediculous good. There was a long wait so make a reservation, but so well worth the wait. The queso train is so exciting and holey moley the queso, guacamole and bean dip are to die for. The drinks...don't get me started on the drinks. I didn't get her name but our bartender was just overly phenomenal. ( apparently it's Sarah. My friend asked ) She made the most delicious drinks EVER!! I can't say anything better about this place. I am from California and I would literally come back here just to solely come to this place. 5 million stars. Thank you so much for your amazing service and AMAZING food. I will be a forever customer and will tell everyone if they're ever in NC they HAVE to come here. read more

What a delight! My friend and I were looking for a late afternoon snack and decided to try this place. Greeted by the charming eclectic entrance and chickens! Inside the eclectic charm goes into overdrive. Friendly staff, extensive menu. We settled on Guava margarita on the rocks (delicious) and Frida y Diego Mexican Mule (a little bland). Fresh chips, salsa and guacamole which we barely dove into before our order arrived! Specials included three arepitas with carnitas and picked Onions and guacamole-wonderful! Also capirotada, a Mexican pudding with fresh guava syrup and pecans-truly delicious! Already looking forward to a return visit! read more

Waited over an hour no table came available numerous people came in after me and was seated before me with no reservations. I am African American and have unfortunately seen multiple reviews about people of color being treated poorly. In addition to waiting and never being seated I overheard the hostess tell multiple non color people there wait would be 10 minutes and right after them an African American couple was told it would be 1 hour. I will not recommend this place to anybody and the whole time the hostess was laughing while we notified the "So Called Manager" read more

Huge fan of this restaurant! It's a little hole in the wall place that is simply delicious! Another alluring feature of this charming establishment is the decor! I love how funky it is and the walls are COVERED in this unique style. The service is wonderful and there are some great specials! Monday: Margarita Monday ($2 off margs & 50% off apps @ bar) Tuesday: Taco Can Tuesday ($10 taco meals & $2 Tecate Can or PBR can) Wednesday: Familia Wednesday (1/2 off all bottles of wine & $1.99 kids meals) Thursdays: Tamal Thursday (1/2 off tequila of the day & $8 tamal appetizer) My only complaint is that I wish they were open for lunch! read more

I'll get the negatives out of the way: I needed a few minutes to pick my dish and waited a whole lot longer than I expected. The complimentary chips don't come seasoned and the posole was a bit bland. Ordered the Carne Asada. Tortillas were missing but our server caught that. Rice and beans were missing. I had to request them. I am a solo parent out here. I informed my server I had to take the kid to the potty. When we returned - it appeared to me someone had started to clear our table in the few minutes we were gone. My drink was missing. Okay, now the amazingness. Our basket(s) of tortilla chips were brought to our table fresh and hot. The steak was cooked perfectly and once I finally got the entire order - everything was quite flavorful and complimented each other. Personally, I'd pay the extra few bucks if I was contemplating getting the steak tacos to just get the carne asada because you'll get at least 4 out of the larger meal with the tortillas provided. When I realized my beverage was missing, one was promptly brought out to replace it. My 4 year old loved the chips and salsa and the soup. The 5 star rating is because of the wonderful ending to our visit to dos taquitos. We went to check out the pet chickens on our way out. Carlos happened to be out there about to feed them fresh worms. He asked my daughter if she'd like to help. He was so patient and she was so excited. He took the time to teach both of us about the chickens, their compost, the restaurant. They will give you free organic eggs, y'all! Hanging out with Carlos and the chickens and seeing my kid so full of joy and fun made this the most epic dining experience ever. Carlos didn't know it but dinner tonight was to celebrate being awarded a big custody win this week. His kindness towards me and my child after our crazy week was heartwarming and truly touching. Thank you! read more

Dos Taquitos - Carne Asada - before receiving missing components (rice, beans, tortillas) - Mexican Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

Dos Taquitos will tantalize all five of your senses. The décor is a cultural aesthetic, and I loved the modge podge displayed along the pink wall upon entering the restaurant. There were plenty of eggs when I arrived, but I forgot to grab a few when I left. Yes, FREE EGGS in this economy, but I was focused on getting home cause a nap was upon me. The traditional music filtered throughout the restaurant perfectly. I could talk to my friend across the booth without yelling or struggling to hear them in return. Now to the food and drinks. I sat in the restaurant's center and noticed a cute little table train. A waitress informed me it was temporarily out of commission but would deliver guacamole and queso dip during regular operation. Here's what I ordered: Besame Mucho I have no clue how to describe this strawberry concoction but DELICIOUS. One sip, and I regretted not ordering the mucho or pitcher size. It was that good. Choriqueso A unique take on a cheese dip because there was crispy chorizo potato hash mixed into the cheese sauce. I didn't finish it all, but my waitress was lovely and gave me a bag of fresh chips, the house salsa, and my remaining dip in a to-go container. Oh, yeah, the house salsa is fresh and delicious. It tasted even better the next day. Enchiladas De Publea I wanted to try a little bit of everything, and this entrée met my expectations. The corn tortillas were packed with flavor, one chicken, one bean, and one steak. The steak enchilada topped with chipotle sauce was my favorite. I was a little thrown by how sweet the bean enchilada was and similar to dessert because it is topped with Mexican crema. The grilled chicken one was decent. I will return for one of their happy hour specials. read more

This Taco Bell offers potent, albeit not-so-great drinks. If you're seeking imitation rather than authenticity in your food, search no more. Simply order what the regulars recommend: the classic meat and cheese taco paired with a Corona. In other words Mid read more

We went on a Friday night right before they closed, something we usually don't do. The pork in the los caritas was somewhat dry. The shrimp tacos were ok, I've had many shrimp tacos better. We also had a burrito and steak tacos which were good. The margaritas was supposed to be "mucho" in size but it wasn't very large to me. It was strong but not that tasty but it was the house. I'd probably go back to try something else and earlier before they are 45 mins from closing. The team was nice and waitress seemed tired but again we came in too late lol so I don't hold it against her! I'm willing to try it again one more time. read more

There's usually a wait, but it's well worth it!! There's chickens out front and usually fresh eggs are available in the fridge by the front desk. I love the decor and the salsa train is adorable. read more

We came here for our anniversary, it such a fun looking restaurant. We started off with some queso with our chips and salsa and it was of course, delish. I mean, cheese dip-how can it be wrong? We ordered a Margarita and a Modelo, staff were super fast! I really liked the Margarita, salt on the rim. We split the fajitas with steak, chicken, and shrimp which is one of our favorites to get at a Mexican restaurant. The setup and tortillas were on point. We were surprised there was a generous amount of sauce on the fajitas. We didn't love that as much, it wasn't bad though. All in all a great place to go and relax. We would go back. If you aren't feeling the fried ice cream, you can walk across the street to Fresh and have homemade ice cream for dessert. #options read more

Don't let this place fool you. Absolutely top on my list for the worst Mexican food. Let's start with the decoration. Tacky, Tacky everything hanging from the ceiling was an eye sore. You only see that at the street markets in Mexico. Dusty over decorated. That train was a joke. They make you think on social media that it goes around the restaurant. It does NOT. We sat there and the waitress put our guacamole NOT Guac ! On the train right next to my husband and pressed the button it went straight then back to my husband. I was laughing at that point. How insane just hand it to him at this point LOL. The food was so horrible. Rice was hard flavorless the beans as well. The crema was sweet as hell I couldn't eat it. Chicken was cubed in everything. My enchiladas my sons burrito ( to difficult to shred?) never seen a burrito served with yuca there are so, so many Authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. This place is NOT Absolutely a waste of our time. Won't be back and definitely will not recommend read more

Gosh this place was AMAZING! I got shrimp tacos, my family got enchiladas (steak, chicken, black bean one), and las carnitas. We all enjoyed it!! The atmosphere was so cute and unique. We loved the train that delivered our guacamole and queso. Great service as well! read more

Food: 3.5 Service: 3.5 Ambience: 2 Date/Time: 7/14/2019 8:30pm Crowd: 4 tables occupied Order: ACP, Chilaquiles The first impression walking up to the place is it's a hole in the wall with all the over-decorating on the outside, then walking inside it's even more over done with the decor which doesn't really help with the first impression. Once you navigate through "decorations" everywhere, and get to your table, the first thing you realize is you can barely hear each other talking due to the noise level. If it's this loud with only 4 tables occupied, I'd hate to be here for a full house. The service was above average and the server was friendly. The check came in a little standing box labeled "Adios" which is cute, but if you're one who forgets your credit card with it laying right in front of you, just think what you'll do if it's in a box standing flat against one side. You pull the paper CC slips out to sign them and never even see your CC. The food is pretty good and spiced pretty well. I will say the nachos and salsa were better than most places where I've eaten. They are a little more pricey than others and the ACP only comes with tortillas if you don't substitute the whole leg quarter chicken with something else (like grilled chicken) which I've never seen ACP with a whole leg. Only 1 other restaurant that I've been to doesn't include the toritillas in with the order. This place charges almost a dollar for the tortillas. The menu offerings are slightly lacking on the variety in comparison to your typical Mexican restaurant, but again, the food is good. I would recommend it for take out or a very slow day if you want to have any discussion at your table. And don't expect standard Mexican fare like you get in other restaurants (combos, grilled chicken ACP, etc). read more

Came thru Raleigh to see friends and they brought us here. This place rocks! The food is shockingly good for a low-key Hispanic spot. My wife had the empanadas and I had the steak fajitas -- both bomb. The service was a 4/5 but our waitress was super busy. That said, she had a great attitude and recommended a jalapeño margarita that I loved. The ambiance was great for our crazy three kids and us -- casual, fun, musical. They made my daughter's birthday special with a song a complimentary sundae. Adding this to my North Carolina favorites list! read more

Manager (Melanie) was rude and confrontational. Let them know steak in burrito was only one slice and not worth $8. Brought pork that has no up charge. All good but would not remove steak charge. Some in our party were drinking $25 margaritas. Unusual treatment from a normally good restaurant. read more

When I dine out, I want delicious food. I want to earn and relish every morsel, every calorie needs to be well spent. I need to regret nothing. Dos Taquitos was oddly enough what I expected. The decor is definitely an acquired taste lol but let's be real, I will eat from a shack on the side of the road, I came for the food! For an app we got the chips and queso and the jalapeño popper esque dish, which I really enjoyed. Fried jalapeños were stuffed with cheese and yummy misc spices. For the entree I had the steak sopes. The base which is usually a bit more tender, was fried hard and resembled tortillas - different than I expected but would have been alright if it wasn't so tough. The steak wasn't particularly flavorful and overall the meal was just ok, I didn't have high expectations but it also didn't meet them. I'd be willing to give them another try but I'm not in a rush. read more

Went here with some friends for a birthday dinner. Staff was really nice and conversational. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. The atmosphere is a little crowded, club vibe. Music is loud, lots of conversation, dim lighting. It's an acquired taste but I enjoyed it a lot. They have a little train that brings things to some of the tables, too. Thought that was a neat little touch. I also like that they have a fish tank to view. I would definitely go back! read more

This place *used* to be great. The food is still outstanding. The margaritas are good, although pricey. Over the past year, it has become more and more of a pain to eat here. Part of that is increased popularity (good for them). But we had a bad experience recently and we will not be back. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Friday. My friend arrived early and they refused to seat him because the entire party wasn't there. Meanwhile, others arrived (without reservations, and without the rest of their party), and were seated immediately. When I arrived, we were told that we missed our reservation and would now have to wait an hour for a table. (Bear in mind there are still empty tables at this point.) We have been regulars and have probably gone there over 100 times in the past 3 years. No more. We'll take our business elsewhere. read more

I can't believe I am just now discovering this place. The atmosphere is exuberant-- great music and colorful decorations all around. The food was also delicious! This restaurant will now be my go-to for when a friend comes to town and wants tacos. read more

I'm impressed! For my birthday celebration at home this week, I blindly ordered three of their meals for four for pickup. I say blindly, because, unless it's the same restaurant that was located on Creedmoor Rd at Millbrook 15+ years ago, I knew nothing about them. We had both chicken and steak tacos, trio of steak, chicken, and bean enchiladas, and vegetable fajitas. They came with black beans, refried beans, cilantro rice, Spanish rice, pico de gallo, shredded curly lettuce, sour cream, sliced avocados, maybe more. Everyone, including three "selective" adult eaters, thought the meal was great! I haven't sampled any of the items with steak, but everything else was fresh and tasty. The black beans and refried beans were a little too salty, but otherwise delicious. The fajita vegetables were peppers, onions, squash tomatoes and mushrooms, and they were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry at all, and the flour tortillas remained pliable for leftovers. I had expected nine adults, so I ordered meals for 12... to say that there was plenty of food is an understatement! After dinner everyone took home with them as much as they could, and I'm still eating leftovers, three days later. Thank you, Dos Taquitos! read more

Went for wife's birthday and had a reservation. They tried to seat us by a table near the bathroom . When I asked for another table they got rude and told me I would be added to the walk in list and it would be over an hour wait. Spoke to the Manager (bigger, short, female) and she doubled down all while being rude and condescending. I am a person of color so this seems to be a trend at this restaurant. Will never go back. read more

Honestly not all that impressed- the decorations was quite eclectic and cute looking at all of their plates. But the food was lackluster. I had the las carnitas and I'm sad that it wasn't as good as I wanted. I feel like the portions were super small. But my boyfriends and his friend both ordered dishes that looked better than mine. My boyfriend had the chicken mole and his friend had the chilaquiles and the small bite that I tried of their dishes were both significantly better than mine. Overall cute atmosphere- but don't expect that great of food read more

We tried this location for the first time, and it wasn't quite at the level I remembered that the original location was, but still pretty good. Ohhhhh the cilantro margaritas are AMAZING. Have been here a couple of times and really like it. Service is great! Very interesting decor and food selection is varied and delicious. VERY good food!!! Very authentic Mexican food but just Tex Mex enough to satisfy anyone. Drinks are awesome too!!!!

This place was highly recommended by a friend. Hosts didn't even bother to greet us and we had to say something for them to address us. The host also seemed bothered by the fact we brought a baby, who wasn't even going to eat. They acted like it was an inconvenience to get a high chair. We waited 10-15 minutes before a waiter ever came over to introduce themselves. Waitress kept forgetting our drinks and then asked if we still wanted them once we almost finished our food. Now for the food, it was good but definitely small portions for the amount that we paid for. The place was very small... not sure if I'd ever come again. read more

Make a reservation and sit at the train table. This was our second visit- family friendly and delicious!

I was in town for business and came across this place while trying to decide what was for lunch. I didn't expect the parking lot to be as packed as it was (first great sign). Upon walking in you're greeted with FUN decor and the smell of deliciousness! They had a lunch menu so I went with the lunch fajitas and upgraded to shrimp for $2 more. The chips were warm and flaky and the salsa was FLAVORFUL! The food cane out quickly and fajitas were served in a small cast iron skillet. I was initially skeptical as the shrimp appeared to have been diced up and weren't whole. I was blown away once I tasted them because the flavors were HUGE! Everything pictured was DELISH! I would love to come back once I'm back in town and would highly recommend the place. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I didn't try a Margarita read more

Pssst! Or should I say, Psssssst!, Amigos! This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have ever visited. Not only is their service grand, fine and elegant (with a modern twist) they have the most beautiful and interesting art I have ever seen intertwined into a restaurant's décor. I don't normally get into the décor of a place unless it's very, very special and this place has all that an more. I had a delicious little plate of black beans in a crispy basket. The beans were flavored like none I've had before. That's going some because these were full bodied black beans and its hard to get past their earthy flavor. Whoever cooked these knew what they were they were doing. Accompanying the black beans were small, soft tacos stuffed with chorito, cabbage and flavored with chipotle sauce. I wanted to stay all night but I needed to fly. I did take a moment to speak to the two roosters and hens out back. Dos Taquitos is an unexpected adventure. Take a ride through, I'm sure you'll be back again, just like me! read more
