Fresh ingredients were used for the filling. I love the slightly sweet mustard sauce that they used. You can get a half or a whole of their cold sandwiches which is awesome. A half is more than plenty for one sitting though. The Tu More Mole Sandwich was also super unique. This one only has one size, it seems. Very tender chicken mole stuffed to the brim with tasty salsa. Prepare lots of napkins for this one. First time here and was hoping the reviews were accurate. The inside is very open and you can watch the bakers, ovens and those preparing the sandwiches. The staff at the register was friendly and helpful. We ordered the 1/2 Bada bing, 1/2 Irish goodbye, Lemon berry danish, chocolate chip cookie and blueberry muffin. We got home and got started. It was some of the best sandwich/hoagie/sub bread I've ever had! This large building with a bakery serves sandwiches for lunch and breakfast. It's super hot in there on a hot day, no AC. If you go at lunch, expect a wait. Staff were friendly. I've never understood chopped sandwiches, but they seem popular. From different pastries , to loaves of bread, to the chopped sandwich I really haven't tried anything that I didn't like. They've really nailed quite an assortment of different types of bread. Really recommend the slow braised pork shoulder sandwich. The bread is light and airy, the pork is nice and tender and the flavor combination with the pickled onions was really nice. Only thing that could have been better would be if they packed more pickled onions :) There's plenty of seating indoors and some seating outdoors. The interior is really cool with high ceilings, functionally industrial equipment, and bustling bakers and sandwich makers. I really enjoyed the chopped style sandwich where every bite is loaded with a fair amount of ingredients. The bread had a nice bite and chew to it. The sesame baguette in particular had a nice crispy texture on the exterior. El Chimichurri sandwich, featured for sandwich week, was spicy and hearty. The Bada Bing was reminiscent of an Italian sandwich without the heavy layers of meat and cheese. I liked the crunchy chips added to the Beast Master. We heard so much about this bakery but was slightly disappointed with the sandwiches. Reading the reviews, I'm sad the menu didn't have the Bada Bing sandwich. We got the Italian sandwich with sesame seed baguette and Tuna Salad. The bread wasn't great, too hard for the filling in it. The salad was good. Drip coffee was okayish. It was weird we didn't get went plates for our food but just a huge packing paper around them. There were many crumbs on all the tables and we had to dust them off. What would take them to the next level is toasting the bread and/or offering a selection of HOT sandwiches. They have the creativity and skillset to make a bomb breakfast sandwich. Moreover, expanding the condiment selection - such as offering one kick ass homemade hot sauce/salsa - would be a huge plus. I was happy they had a restroom for customers, and the staff were all friendly and quick to prepare our food. I have been seeing recommendations all over social media claiming Dos Hermanos Bakery has some of the best sandwiches you'll ever try. I've tried a couple of their loaves of sourdough bread from the Beaverton farmers market, but today was my first time stopping by their storefront in SE Portland. The store smelled absolutely amazing and had a good amount of seating. After a short wait in line I placed my order and the man who assisted me was happy to answer any questions I had. I ordered the famous Bada Bing sandwich. The chopped Italian filling was absolutely amazing. I did remove one star because the bread was slightly on the harder side. I used to order sandwiches from Papi Sal's that used the same sesame seed bread from Dos Hermanos, and it was always soft and fresh. It must have just been an off day. I also ordered a bag of English muffins. I haven't tried them yet but they look delicious and they seem very soft and fresh. I'll definitely be coming back to try another sandwich and hopefully I'll have better luck with the sesame seed bread. read more

I'm happy to have two things to recommend - the existence of a great place to get a sandwich, and, possibly more important for me, fantastic rolls available in stores, so you can build your own at home. When visiting the bakery itself, customers get to watch their chopped sandwiches being made. For each sandwich, they essentially build a salad in a stainless bowl, then pour it out onto a chopping block, where it is finely diced using a mezzaluna rounded knife blade. Being made fresh, all the cold, crispy items still retain their original characteristics, while being mixed with creaminess from dressing and cheese. The sandwiches were massive, and leftovers held up quite well overnight. For me, the bigger thing about Dos Hermanos is that their rolls are available in local markets. I found mine at New Seasons. I grew up on the east coast, where every deli counter has a variety of packaged kaiser or potato or other types of rolls displayed in front. Though Portland has vastly improved for things like bagels and pizza, somehow sandwich rolls have not caught on. I'm thrilled that Dos Hermanos now fills this void. read more
