This is a great place to get reliably vegetarian-friendly Tex-Mex. From their website: "We understand and support the benefits of a vegetarian diet and this commitment shows in Dos Coyotes' menu. Our rice and refried beans have zero animal products in them. We only use olive and canola oils for our dressings and marinades. Our vegetarian dishes are as complex, flavorful and diverse as every other item on our menu." I took advantage of the opportunity to finally order some guaranteed-vegetarian fajitas! While waiting, I filled containers with some of the many salsas on offer. They had green salsas, red salsas, habanero, mild/medium/spicy. My favorite turned out to be the chef's salsa, which had a definite kick of heat. My food arrived in a few minutes, piping hot off the grill. As promised, it was complex and flavorful - even though I'm a picky eater and had them leave out a few ingredients. My only quibble is that I thought they should have included more tortillas, but honestly the food was great without them, so it didn't matter. The location was spacious, clean and fast-casual. For some reason the bar with the soda, salsas, straws, etc. doesn't have to-go utensils, so I had to go back to the counter and request those specially for my to-go order. The staff was nice, though. Burnt chicken and tiny burritos all the time. I'm going to stop going to this location. The folsom and roseville locations are my favorite. Almost chipped my filling for biting into burnt chicken in my tiny burrito and it's only this location that is like this. The customer service was horrible today I go by the counter and the worker says wussup? I asked for a silver fork and the new worker handed me plastic ones that break and asked me to wait for the silver ones because he's not done cleaning them. Then he made me take my plate of food to my table and didn't take my number back. My tooth still hurts from the burnt chicken from the tiny burrito. All the other locations give you a fat burrito. Whenever I feel like having nachos, I think of the Navajo nachos. The melted cheese on the chips is so good. I also like to get the condiments on the side so my chips don't get soggy. The steak is also tasty. I also love the tomatillo salsa. You cannot get that salsa anywhere else! read more

I had been to a Dos Coyotes once before and remember enjoying it. We had just gotten done at a convention and decided to stop in to recharge. My fiancé had been craving this place because we don't have it where we live. The store was super clean and had a nice comfortable atmosphere. The gal at the counter was extremely friendly and even gave us food recommendations. It did not take very long for us to get the food and, in the meantime, we enjoyed collecting options at the fun salsa bar! Everyone loved their food! It tasted fresh, hot, and full of flavor! Even my daughter who has specific tastes at times really enjoyed her burrito. I loved that they had a seasonal cranberry salsa, and I enjoyed trying all the different options. This might be one of the only perfect 5 star places of all time for me. I would give this place a 6/5 stars if possible. This place is one of the few places that actually allows dine in during COVID (a major plus). I was so happy when this chain moved from its mid town location to something much closer to me; it's practically in my backyard! My go-to is always the border burrito. They have a wide beer selection. There are vegetarian options on the menu like potato tacos or salads. This restaurant is a really great example of how to do Tex-mex/Mexican-American food the right way. The ambiance is nice with top hits playing and a really neat Arizonan pueblo architecture that has hanging peppers throughout the r Probably the best part about this restaurant is the salsas. While in West Sacramento, we were in the mood for some good Mexican food. Dos Coyotes was close to the hotel, so we stopped in for a light dinner. We ordered at the counter, and found a high top table next to the window. Shortly after sitting, we visited the salsa bar and found a nice selection of salsa's. Our food was out quickly, and it looked delicious. I ordered the potato tacos and the potatoes in the crispy tortillas were crispy, there were a lot of nice textures in these tacos. This is my brother's favorite Mexican place in Sacramento and it is near our hotel in Natomas. It is located in the shopping center with Sprouts. On a Saturday evening, my family and I decided to eat here based on my brother's recommendation. We ordered at the register and sit at any table. They have a self serve soda machine and salsa bar. I ordered taco and enchiladas chicken plate with rice and black beans. My dish was really good with Pico De gallo or green sauce. We sat there for 1hr chatting while eating. We had a great dine-in experience at Dos Coyotes in North Natomas. This was our first time at this Dos Coyotes and also one of our first dine-in experiences in Sacramento since Covid. We ordered the Border Burrito, which is listed as a customer favorite, and the Tres Tacos Basket. Dos Coyotes offers approximately eight or nine different types of salsa, which they now have in small plastic containers. We ordered a few of the roasted tomatillo salsa, which was mild and sweet. We sat down and waited a short while for our food to arrive. We ordered the steak Border Burrito, which comes with steak, cheese, guacamole, salsa, black beans, rice, and sour cream in a flour tortilla. It was really tasty! The meat was tender and all the ingredients put together added so much great flavor to the burrito. It was definitely our favorite order. For the Border Burrito, you can choose between three types of meats - chicken, pulled pork, or steak. Each has a different price. The steak border burrito was $12.50. For the Tres Taco Basket, you can choose between 7 types of meat - chicken, crispy beef, crispy chicken, steak, pulled pork, shrimp, and mahi mahi. We ordered 2 mahi mahi tacos and one steak taco. The mahi mahi tacos were good, but the taste of the mahi mahi in the taco didn't stand out. The mahi mahi was not large and the flavor was overpowered by the slaw and other toppings. It was good, but I would probably try a different meat next time .I didn't try the steak taco, but was told it was good. The Tres Tacos Basket is $12.25, but the steak and mahi mahi choices are an extra 75 cents per taco. Overall, we had a really good dine-in experience at Dos Coyotes. The staff was friendly and helpful. They forgot one of our sides, but was quick to bring it out when we reminded them. The food was fresh and tasty, especially the steak burrito. When I worked in Davis I'd often go to the South Davis location for lunch. It was great to also have a North Davis location, and when Elk Grove opened I was happy about that too. Arden and R Street were also good options if in the area. When Natomas opened I was excited but hadn't given it foodie love until recently. What draws me in every single time are the intriguing Seasonal Menu items -- I'm a total sucker for the mango chicken quesadilla. This time they had Hank's Cubano and I had to have it. Pulled pork, black forest ham, pickled jalapenos, cheddar, jack, and gruyere cheeses in a warm, crisp flour tortilla. Came with a mustard dipping sauce. Ooh I already love cubano sandwiches but this spin on it was super tasty too. I feel like every bite was loaded full of meat and it was a solid meal. As for the salsas, I tried the green tomatillo (sweet) and the roasted tomato (mild) and the green salsa was hands-down the best especially with the porkiness of this item. The chips were also nice and fresh with the salsa too. You see a entire island full of various salsas and the bar has lemons limes onions cactus all the different variations you could want. We come to doc coyote when we crave a salmon burrito. This time the salmon meat texture & taste is a bit odd....unless they changed to farm raised salmon with no color added then it should be light pink color and not this white color, right?
