    Birria Tacos

My son's been talking about this place, as it just opened up near where he lives. He stopped in here the other night, and got some quick eats. He got the Birria tacos, which came with Rice. I chose the flight of street tacos, which came with black beans and with rice. I had 3 kinds of meat. Great trying thus many. Thx. All the food was very fresh, very hot, very flavorful. We plan to be back. My only negative, was the price, it seemed high for a casual / counter dining place. But I guess it's in line with many other restaurants and how much they're charging for everything nowadays. We ordered at a counter, but the food was delivered to our table, and the service was very friendly and engaging.

I was excited to see this place open after the loss of The Coalman at this location but I think the food is just okay. Came on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but still was able to order and get a table pretty quickly. I got a three tacos plate and tried the chicken, al pastor, and steak. Of the meats, the chicken was the most flavorful. The al pastor flavor was not the most authentic and the beef had very little flavor. The rice and beans were fine, but I would prefer pinto or refried beans. We also ordered a horchata to try but it was just kind of sweet and cinnamon-flavored with not much else and felt a little watery. Since I live nearby I might be back at some point but there are more authentic taco options in the general area a little farther out.

A great addition to the small Newcastle community. Customer service is great here. They are friendly and helpful. The menu is up high and an in awkward placement before the register where you will need to order. Think of this place as a superior option to Chipotle. The salsa and condiment bar is always sufficiently supplied. The mango habanero salsa is delicious. It's my favorite option. The food is hot and fresh. The beef birria tacos are packed with flavor and not just doused with cheese but enough to make you happy. The taco is packed with birria meat. The consume delicious as well. The wings were a surprise to me. I wanted to try to the Jalapeño Tamarindo. The wings were crispy and juicy and a balanced flavor. The menu is pretty straightforward with offerings you'd expect from a local taqueria. The options for protein for whatever you pick are chicken, Al pastor, grilled steak or poblano. You can order street tacos, burritos, bowls, tortas, quesadillas, gringa tacos, nachos, nachos fries, chipotle shrimp tacos or chicken taquitos. The beef birria and nachos are hands down delicious. Notably, the Al pastor was a miss for us. Didn't enjoy it so much.

Good place to get birria tacos around Newcastle, good portion sizes, the rice was average, but the birria tacos was better than expected! The service was good, clean and neat, I recommend and would come back

It's quite difficult, I'll admit, for a brick & mortar establishment to earn more than 4 stars from me (and most people I know) when selling street tacos - vs a food truck or corner stand - to find the best authentic food. It's missing the warmth, the flames, a bit of the heart and soul (not always, but generally). But I will always give it a chance either way! Overall, not bad... but would just prefer my local taco truck(s). Would maybe come back in a pinch. The chicken/pollo was flavored (interestingly) but saucy? and oversalted, and the al pastor tasted like Chinese BBQ Pork (Char Siu) which was... interesting as well. Props to them for adding the signature pineapple to the al pastor since not all places do that, although all the tacos had sauce on them already and we had gotten sauce from the sauce bar expecting to sauce our own tacos with our choice of salsa. Again, interesting choice. Salsas were good though. The pickled onions were slightly lacking (can't compete to the ones at my favorite taco truck nor my homemade ones), carrots were the same. Space is small but cute, and they have a bar - it seems they will be serving alcohol in the near future (margaritas, beers, etc). Would maybe come back for that? It is located in a spot with lots of parking which is appreciated and service was quite quick. The menu honestly seems quite geared towards a certain demographic... just like how Tapatio has survived all these years across the street, which is a respectable tactic. It will serve one type but probably not as much of the other, especially for value. Prices are not unexpected nor crazy (especially makes sense due to location), but still high for the amount of meat and size of tacos you get (about two bites worth). 3.75 for chicken/pollo, veggie/poblano rajas, & pork/al pastor, 4.25 for steak. Again in this economy not bad prices, but my preferred spots for flavor and value are still better. They also sell burritos, bowls, wings, tortas, taquitos, chips which seem much more reasonably priced.

Overall small restaurant but the tables turn pretty quickly. Ordering is done at the front desk. Beef Birria had a nice crisp taco. The beef was tender and the cheese was perfectly gooey. The beef lack flavor. Add some of the green jalapeno sauce from the bar and make it better. Note. Very hot sauce. 3 street taco plate- very small tacos. Chicken was the best. Beef again had no flavor. Al pastor taste like Chinese char-siu pork.

Saw that this place opened up recently and really wanted to check it out. They offer pretty standard Mexican food but it is nice to have more options in the Newcastle area for this. The service was friendly, I wish the Takeout containers were more stable(the cup holders weren't very stable, my sauce spilled all over the bag) the Al pastor was tasty and so was the birria, I would have liked to see more meat . They did a good job with the interior, it looks like they will add a full service bar pretty soon.

New spot that opened in Newcastle. I got their tacos and burrito. The tacos for me were the best part, I liked the chicken taco the best but nothing really stood out to me. The burrito was alright, the flavors didn't really stand out. I will say, I really liked the pico de gallo but wish they gave more limes. Not sure if this would be my first pick over a food truck

We were so excited to see this new local spot open up for a casual and quick dining if you're in the mood for tacos, wings, taquitos and more! We checked out a few of the dishes and were impressed with the quick service, condiments bar and vibe. Looking forward to becoming a regular here!

Got the al pastor tacos with rice and beans, it was delicious! The staff and ambiance was welcoming and I will definitely be coming back. The salsa bar is heavily stocked with great options for a range of spice levels. I can't wait for the margaritas to be available!

Really good. Had the chicken burrito with a salsa bar available to make it as hot as you like. Can't wait to come back and try more things.
