The man at the front is very friendly. He took my takeout order over the phone quickly and repeated it back to me in a cheerful way. Also their food is delicious. BUT CHECK YOUR ORDER THOROUGHLY We have ordered from here twice, and the first time he forgot to give us the drinks we paid for so we had to drive back. The second time, we ordered 2 Carne Asada burritos and 1 Veg burrito with no cheese and no sourcream. When we picked up the 3 burritos, the veg had cheese on it (but no guacamole) and although they had substituted wet burritos (which is fine) we were given no forks. To make matters worse, we were told that the veg burrito was on top. When I got home and handed the 2 burritos at the bottom of the bag to the 2 people who wanted meat, one of them ended up being veg. By then he had driven away and my husband was left picking the meat out of his burrito. Not sure if we will be back, but if we do go back we will check everything in person to make sure of the order. read more

Family ran restaurant. The owner is always nice and makes your experience personable. I've been coming here now for over six years. The energy of the restaurant gives family oriented as the ambiance along with a nice little spot to eat and hang out with friends. The food is amazing, I love the arroz con camarones! I'm unsure if they have albóndigas as it's another favorite dish of mine, but I tend to make mine homemade with turkey because I do not eat pork. However they have lots of options! read more

This is my go to Mexican restaurant. Rare to find brisket tacos and it's my repeating desire when I go here. So much that the owner knows what I'm about to order. Excellent service and delicious food. The restaurant could use an update on the interior. The seats aren't always comfortable. read more

I was stuck waiting for a flat tire repair when I came into Casa Durango. I explained my situation and ordered food while I waited. It had been a long day already. My tow truck didn't show up. The owner/manager of the restaurant came to the rescue and asked one of the patrons he knew if he could help. Which he did. He changed my tire and put on a spare. Neither of them had to do anything to help me but they did. The kindness to go out of their way to be of service was outstanding. Both men were truly angels tonight. Thank you! Also, the salsa and food and were delicious. read more

Super friendly service and quick! The food was just ok. I ordered 3 street tacos and the meat was hefty but unfortunately not very good. The meat was super tough and the seasoning was just meh. I ended up eating 1.5 tacos out of the 3. read more

There's just a couple issues I have with it. One is their booth are falling in and their salsa is too hot for gringos. It's just hot and I think one of the things people enjoy about Mexican Restaurants is having some chips and salsa and my last little complaint is if there is a soccer game on the service is horrible. Actually, if the owner is a male, I think he was the one waiting on me. I had the fajitas that were very good without bell peppers and my friend had a quesadilla which is quite large with guacamole and sour cream. read more

My family and I use to love going here. Service use to be always good,It's close and has good food. You have to be careful for the servers though. This was the second time we went there and got the wrong change back. I'm assuming for a bigger tip. I can't remember the servers name but she worked on may 5th. She seemed very overwhelmed and should not be working in the service industry. First time I gave here a $100 on a $35 tab and got back $40 and I asked her if this was the right change and she gave me some weird response " maybe I didnt give her enough money.so t I called the next day and the "manager" said they would look in to it but I never got a call back. This place decides on there own tip even know service was not very good. If you go here make sure to use a card not cash. You might get ripped off by the server! read more

Everything is delicious. Fresh food, large portions and friendly staff and quick service. Our go to Mexican spot

This place is like a hidden gem! Nice ambience with a TV (for sports fans) and the food is really high quality. They have all day breakfast which I consider as a differentiator from other such restaurants. I love scrambled eggs with chorizo! There is also an egg twisting machine that my kid enjoyed it a lot (need to prepare quarters). read more

Sadly have not had great experiences here. 1) the staff are lovely. Very friendly. 2) we have ordered deliver through apps here at least 3x and all three times have had issues. Not that it's always the restaurants fault, but it's frustrating none the less. 3) first order through delivery we only received half the order. They corrected and we went to pick it up. Second time we again only got a partial order. Third time app noted it was delivered...we never got it. Restaurant called us and noted the issue so we went and picked it up ourselves. It would be different if the food was decent but it's not. Our order legit looked like it was mixed together. Not seasoned well. The beef so chewy it was inedible. We literally spent $40++ on meals we just threw out. Our fajitas did not come with tortillas. Our $15 cheese enchiladas we asked for double rice, no beans...there was nearly no rice at all. Food does not come with chips & salsa but the apps don't let you order it?! Weird. We will not be coming back. read more

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this hole in the wall near me. I passed by this place everyday for over 8 years and never bother to try it until now. Although the sign is pretty noticeable, the place is pretty small and it's surrounded by many other big business that can overshadow it. We arrive around dinner time and was seated right away. We got some chips and salsa as we decide what to get for dinner. The chips was yummy and the salsa has a nice kick. We ended up getting the tostones with ceviche and plantains and the combo fajita. The tostones was a lot of food (as it's suppose to be a small dish). It is literally a fried plantain with a mountain of ceviche on top and there was 3 of them. I like the ceviche as the flavor was refreshing and it was light. The plantain was ok. The fajita was a combo of chicken, Shrimp and steak on a sizzling plate. It also came with rice, beans and guacamole on the side and tortilla.i love the charred taste of the meat and veggies, the side dish was ok. Everything was on the lighter side in term of seasoning. Price was pretty good for the portion. We basically got one Small appetizer and one main entree and it fed both of us. Service was standard. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. read more

Ordered take out with my family. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! Everything was reasonably priced too. The Mexican restaurants in our area can get really expensive, so we'll definitely be coming back here! read more

Amazing food! Never lets down... And the portions are always generous! Beautiful and quaint! Can't wait to go back!

It's the last day of National Hispanic Heritage Month which is the perfect excuse for me to just go for Casa Durango's pescado frito. Yep, it's a whole entire tilapia deep fried, served with their signature seafood sauce, fresh pico de gallo, rice, beans, and tortillas. Definitely enough to feed two people. Unfortunately in my pandemic takeout order, they forgot to pack the seafood sauce so it was a little dry, but an amazing value nonetheless, and I have hot sauce in my fridge. And they have a ginormous fajita burrito! The burrito was stuffed with chicken (or steak), onions, peppers, mushrooms, beans, rice, and cheese, then topped with their burrito sauce, sour cream, guac, and pico de gallo. Go hungry because this will fill you up! read more

This place is one of those secret neighborhood gems that I don't easily fess up and share with others. But it's time to shed some light on it. I've been eating here on and off for many years now (10? maybe). They serve classic Mexican food with all your typical options. This is not an "upscale" or "creative" or Tex-Mex place. Their prices are excellent for the portion sizes that you get. 2 thumbs up. The quality has always been reliable, and a shrimp dish is not 3 or 4 pieces for $20; it's generous. The service is good, but not in-your-face attentive. The restaurant sit-down area is roomy and connected to a bar next door that is not readily visible from the restaurant. Sometimes servers disappear because they are also handling next door. Just be aware. Here's a funny tidbit. I've eaten here at all hours of the evening/night. Earlier in the evening during typical US dinner hours, then it's a quieter dinner atmosphere with, how do I say it in a PC way, maybe "typical Americans". If I arrive at 8:30 to 9 or later, then the party music from the bar drifts into the dining area, and a different set of diners arrive. I love knowing this is a legit Mexican restaurant! It's COVID-19 time, so it's takeout only. Hubby opted for the fajita steak burrito. It's huge and yummy. 5 stars! I ordered one of my usual dishes - Arroz con Camarones. Love this dish with its yummy sauce. 5 stars! Side note that there's an awesome grocery store next door called Carniceria La Chiquita. Check out its marinated meats! read more

My family and I have been here dozens of times, too many times to count and all have been 4+ stars. This place was really great! today however, 2 servers I have never seen before (new management?) and arguably the worst servers I've ever encountered. Took a while to place our orders, took even longer for the food to come out and one order was completely wrong. Not usually an issue but the staff argued with each other over whether we were right or they were (who does that??) finally got the correct order and it was terrible. No follow up refills on drinks, no one asked how we were doing, just rude staff. Sadly this will be our last trip to Casa Durango. read more

We have lived for the last 2+ years in the condo complex right next door to the shopping plaza where this restaurant is, but when we first moved here, a friend told us about a Mexican restaurant up Sunset, so we've always gone there. Been unhappy the last couple times, so we looked for another Mexican restaurant. We've seen Casa Durango many times, so we thought let's give them a try. I'm so glad we did. We did takeaway; I had the fajita salad and my wife had the mole enchilada. We also ordered their shrimp cocktail and tortilla soup. We didn't care for the shrimp "cocktail;" it was more a soup, and the shrimp were supposed to be tiger shrimp. They were regular on-the-small size, tasteless shrimps. Also, while the tortilla soup was very tasty, they didn't have have the tortilla strips on the side, so they were very soggy. But our main dishes were fabulous; fresh ingredients and delicious. We'll be back. Soon many more enticing menu items to try. read more

Casa Durango has great vegan options. It's the best Mexican food restaurant we've found in the area with vegan options that are delicious and more than just a bean and rice burrito. The staff is always great to interact with as well. Highly recommend! I personally usually order the enchiladas de la crema which are okay, but I wish the chicken was a bit more seasoned/flavorful. Either way we will continue to order from here so my vegan hubby can get a yummy meal. read more

** Ordered the spicy chipotle enchiladas, birreria tacos, pollo tacos and carne asada ** Okay... I'm so mad I'm just now finding out about this place. I loved everything!! I mean everything!! It had an authentic homemade taste to it and it was refreshing that their Spanish rice wasn't the usual taste -- it was different. The birreria tacos were my favorite!! I ordered on doordash so I'm not sure what the inside looks like but I've driven by and I think they have a outdoor seating area. Good quality, great taste and they found a way to be unique with their Spanish rice. I'm giving them 5 stars! I probably wouldn't order the chipotle enchiladas again, I wasn't feeling the flavor -- don't get me wrong, I still ate it lol but I'll probably try a different type of enchilada next time. If you're craving Mexican food, don't be scared, they will not disappoint! I like I've tried every Mexican spot there is so when I come across hidden gems, I get really excited that I need to shout it on Yelp! Disclaimer: It may not be the best you've ever tried BUTTTT it's the best around and I'm pretty sure about that! Sincerely, Satisfied read more

Ordered a chille relleno today and it was on point !!! Only thing I could suggest to this place is faster service, make sure someone's up front at all times and also please make sure things are clean and food is good because the last visit sent my back to work with a very upset stomach. My go to spot for Mexican cuisine. Staff is fast and friendly . For first timers I recommend the durango burrito

Seated quickly, waited on, and served quickly as well. Fresh food and large margaritas, but no chip refills. This place wasn't busy at all when we arrived but it was a bit of an odd time. We were seated and served quickly. We ordered two large margaritas, but even though they were large, I'm not sure they contained any alcohol. Chips and salsa were brought out complimentary, but be forewarned, you only get one serving for free. Maybe they've been burned by people taking advantage of that in the past. I'm not sure but it's the first time I've ever seen that. Salsa was just the right amount of spicy for me! I liked it! I got chicken fajitas and they were very good! The chicken was very moist and the entire dish tasted fresh. read more

The shredded beef burrito is huge and so delicious! Fresh, flavorful, filling is an understatement! Our go-to now for burritos.

I'm from Arizona. We've been trying so hard to find good Mexican food here. And nothing has come even close to the worst Mexican food we had in AZ. The only thing good about this place was decent salsa. The "red" sauce is orange and absolutely horrendous. Looks like it came from a can. And honestly you can find much better canned red sauce. The beans are okay. The rice is bland. Even the shredded beef was low quality. I'm beyond disappointed. I can't believe any of these places have decent reviews. You need to travel south to learn what good Mexican actually tastes like. If you have any recommendations for a good place... let me know. I'm still searching. read more
