Our decision to board and train our 10 and three year-old pups for 30 days was a choice we took quite seriously. Meeting Becca, vistiting the facilities, and learning about her background and training techniques, led us to trust and commit 100% to the program. Our pups were introduced and taught commands to leave it, wait, heel, down, release/free, bed, and recall. WE also learned a ton and that it's okay for us to spoil them, but they need strict follow through with their obedience. The difference in their behavior is quite impressive and exciting. Now it's up to us, as the lead pack members, to practice every day and continue to instill all the lessons and hard work that occured during the 30 days (and those extra six that we decided were best for Hawk to earn his graduation)! With all that said, and most importantly, thank you Becca, and ALL the staff at GHC, from the bottom of our hearts, for bringing Roscoe and Hawk's two totally different personalities, and not-so-great habits, to a more enriched brotherly relationship. :) GHC provided them a loving, safe, and happy place to live and learn and it showed. Your leadership, knowledge, expertise, patience, and commitment to this career in dog training is a gift to many. We have no doubt that GHC is, and will continue to be, a prominent dog training facility in Southwest Colorado. We look forward to our two follow-up training sessions during the next few months. I've tried Surface Creek and Dorr clinic. surface creek gets the job done but my dog doesn't like going there whereas Dorr clinic just plain sucks. I took my dog to Dorr for an impacted anal gland and he stuck his finger up my dog's rectum and immediately said it was a tumor and needed surgery right away. I had tried to express his gland the day before and got a little discharge but not what should have came out so I new it was probably impacted and when they get impacted they get inflamed also, tumors don't grow that fast overnight, so I went to Dr. Natalie and she examined him put him on antibiotics and anti- inflammatory medication. I took him back a week later for a follow up, the swelling was down. Also the staffing was awesome, when I first took him in he was very hesitant but when we left I had to drag him out. I wish I could give ten stars.

I wonder how these people can fill their gas tank, go…read moreout to dinner (for what is usually lousy food), have their car repaired, BUY A BAG OF QUALITY DOG FOOD, or visit their own dentist without having a meltdown about the costs. Being a good pet owner involves vet care but so many people think that should be inexpensive. I have had 3 dogs cared for by these ladies over the last 4 years. Routine visits, dental work, cancer diagnosis and treatment, euthanasia, and just last week - an EMERGENCY visit when our dog was bitten badly by a German Shepherd. Exam, wound care, anesthesia, surgery, medications for 530$! Half of what it would cost on the Front Range or anywhere else in the country. I have always appreciated the courtesy and skill of the entire staff.

The kennel is pretty laid back with time for drop off and pick up. They're closed Sundays. Price was very reasonable at $18 a day per dog. I have two large dogs and they were able to stay in the same dog run which was great. Both dogs came back happy and healthy. Friendly place and I would highly recommend!!
