We purchased our Doberman, Zeus, from Rocky Mountain Dobermans (Meredith Mazutis). He was an incredible dog and a beloved part of our family. At just 4 years old, Zeus developed a serious condition (chylothorax). During this time, we reached out multiple times to the breeder for guidance after being told support would always be available, but we never received a response. We're grateful to Colorado State University for the excellent care they provided. We're sharing our experience so others can make an informed decision about the level of support they may receive. They don't just breed amazing European Dobermans they create a family and network of Doberman lovers who go back to her again and again for their puppies. I'm on my 2nd and my grown son is on the waitlist for his first. I know some people who have gotten 3,4, or 5 dogs from her. She is meticulous with her genetic testing and stands behind her dogs quality and stands behind owners with lifetime support for any questions. This person is a proud seller of dogs that come from a parent that has started showing signs of DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy--enlarged heart that makes Dobermans drop dead, usually at a very early age). When confronted, she claimed that it wasn't an issue, but anyone with half a brain and a love for Dobermans knows what a horrible disease this is. She claims she health tests, and maybe she does, but this proves that she doesn't care about the results of said testing. Do not buy from this backyard breeder if you want a companion with a long lifespan. You probably will not get it here. read more

I've been researching to purchase a Doberman for two years now. I have been following Rocky Mountain Dobermans on facebook and throughout the web. These two negative reviews both two days apart from each other makes me wonder if they're legit. Rocky Mountain Doberman resides in Colorado where I am from. Why does a person in Florida and another in Missouri know for a fact how Rocky Mountain Dobermans run their business? I find it hard to believe. I will be purchasing a puppy this spring from Rocky Mountain Dobermans and I have no concerns given I have been following reviews, pictures, and even talked to people who know about them personally. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the training and care given to this breed. I have never met anyone from Rocky Mountain Doberman as of yet in person, not saying I haven't talked and heard how legit they are and the quality at a high standard.
