There was quite a bit of jewelry in the cases, as well as a collection of Steiff stuffed tigers and dogs, a wonderful pile of 1940s-50s tablecloths and other textiles, various ceramics including Stangl and a collection of wall pockets, a collection of Waterford crystal, and a whole lot of seashells. It's a thrift shop. All of the stuff in the store was donated to them, so the woman Ann who runs it could lighten up a little. Whenever she is in the store, you can feel the mood change as she yells at everyone. Not the most pleasant of places to browse around sometimes. That being said, it has a nice selection of clothing and household items, glassware and estate jewelry. It is all neatly arranged and they don't put a lot of junk out. It's worth a trip to go in and see what they have. You never know what you may find and it all goes to a great cause.

You will find a treasure trove of high-quality antiques, collectibles, and curiosities that they procure daily! They're on Route 611 which runs along the Delaware, north of the Milford (NJ) - Upper Black Eddy (PA) bridge, and south of the Riegelsville Bridge. Technically I think they are in Durham, PA, even though the location that showed up in Yelp is Riegelsville. They have a wide range of items--ceramics, kitchen items, glassware, books, jewelry, wooden boxes, salt and pepper sets, embroidered textiles, teapots, folk art, furniture, glass paperweights... they really have quite an assortment, and I always enjoy looking. At Christmas-time the quantity of vintage Christmas ornaments is just unbelievable--I'm not good at estimating numbers--there must be hundreds, maybe thousands. (The owners said they get put away in January, so I assume in November they come out of storage again.) I've bought gifts for friends and things for myself there. The prices are reasonable. (Today they had a green 1950s glass pitcher for $14. I paid $30 for that same pitcher at a Depression glass show... sigh.) You never know what new items will have arrived recently... Of course, if you see something you like and you don't buy it... Well, by the next time you stop in, it might be gone. (I've made that mistake, too!) If you're in the area, check it out.

I had all the essentials, a bed, a couch, a desk, some dressers. The one thing I lacked was a kitchen table. That's a pretty big deal, especially when it takes you three weeks to finally go out and get one! My landlord pointed me right down the road and told me to check out Allen's Antiques. I had been in during my first week checking out some of the tables and Allen himself was very helpful, walking me through all the rooms and telling me about each of them. Upon my second visit two weeks later, Allen remembered who I was and once again helped out by showing me some of the new stock and some other tables I had missed on my first visit. I ended up settling on a beautiful drop leaf table that was right on the porch, and he gave me an incredible deal! Even better, it was delivered for free! Allen and the two movers who helped bring the table up to my apartment couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I noticed that a previous reviewer had commented on the clutter of the place itself. I definitely agree, the place is jam-packed with antique finds and it gets a little tight in corners, but I feel like this is what makes your experience in an antique store more exciting. You're surrounded by so much history and every piece is struggling to be noticed and to tell you its story, but it allows you to find those special pieces that really speak to you and stand out among all the rest.
