    Sea Snails

Doremi is my go-to place when I want to drink but not want to run into a lot of people. It's really lowkey, and I've noticed a lot of the older crowds frequent this place. What I really like about this place is that each table is its own little booth/room so you can feel this sense of privacy when dining here. The owner is super nice; he's very friendly making sure everything is good and we're being taken care of. On my most recent visit, we ordered the - Bossam with Chives - Spicy Sea Snails (Golbaengee Moochim) **I would highly recommend their fried chicken; I usually always order it but the crowd wasn't really feeling chicken. I think it's one of the best. The bossam was extremely tender and savory, and the chives that come out with it make a perfect pairing. Perfect bar food. I was actually very impressed with the spicy sea snails. Portions were more than plentiful and even though there are a lot of veggies in there, the crunchy texture of the cabbage and cucumbers were a plus to me. The seasoning is a bit spicy, but it was still very good and I think it had great value. They also serve you some Korean snacks as appetizers before the actual food comes out, so it's also fun to munch on those while you're waiting. I'm curious as to how they stay in business -- it was pretty quiet for a Friday night. Nevertheless, I will still visit here because not many people know about it and I just love the vibes and privacy that this bar offers.

Food was great. Good sized portions. Comfortable and private seating. They serve with chopsticks and regular utensils. The waiter didn't ask if we wanted drinks so we just got a jug of water. It seemed like at times the wait staff were forgetful of us, or slow to respond.

    Rice wine and mussel soup

My usual stop at late nights in Duluth. The owner is a really friendly guy. He brought a bottle of korean beer (OB) and asked how much it was in korea. I guess he wanted to find out whether he got ripped off or not. Atmosphere is great. I love the bar a well as open couch seating and curtained rooms a well for more privacy. Their food is really tasty. I always get the mussel soup and fried wings; sometimes snail mixed vegetables with korean spicy bean paste. Of course I recommend. Tap on my shoulder next time. I will buy you a drink.

I do not feel as though downtown Duluth truly captures the amazing food scene of the city, but again, an old friend did like it enough to tell me about it. Inside was pretty spacious. High ceilings and bright. You have to go up front and order, and they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Pretty standard so far. It's not too loud, even with the music playing in the background, so not bad for hanging out with friends after the food is done, though we didn't. We were all pretty disappointed with our food. It wasn't bad, thankfully, it was just meh. We could've literally drove 5 minutes away for better, so we left as soon as we finished. The good thing is you get to choose what protein you want with your dish, which is nice. However, the chicken katsu here is thin. Also, the K-Fried chicken doesn't really mesh with the pasta. It's like a skewer on the side of your main dish. You can eat them separately and be happy enough. I was ok with the bulgogi, but I would've expected better from a Korean establishment. I haven't tried every single protein option, but I won't lie, tofu in pasta isn't the most appealing to me. For the main dishes, it was pretty bland, especially the omurice. You need the egg and the protein for flavor. The Schezwan pasta wasn't even spicy. At least the carbonara was creamy as it should be.

Just a heads up so others don't get confused like I did. The place was pretty busy, which made it feel like a popular spot. The atmosphere was nice and everything looked clean and well kept. Even though it was crowded, our server was very friendly and attentive. They cooked the meat right at the table, which made the experience better. The fried rice (볶음밤) they made on the grill at the end, especially with the pork belly, was honestly the best part. Overall, really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.

My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table.
