Used to adore this place for like 4 years but this year it definitely changed for me. I used to tip well and looked forward to coming here but the vibe totally changed. Staff are not as nice anymore and sort of act annoyed on the weekends so I don't go anymore. It's really not worth it for the price if that is how they behave towards frequent customers who tip well. In America, we tip to show our appreciation and we support your business when there are many others in the area that are doing the same thing as you, but are nicer and more relaxed. If you do not enjoy your job and cannot provide proper business, you will lose customers. I suggest Echo! They have much better service and rooms. read more

The people handling service clearly have a bias against Black people as when I walked in the door, I was yelled at by the woman behind the counter as to where my party was without a hello or even my asking a question. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and she was initially taken to a room, and when she left to use the restroom, the room was occupied by another party. They offered no explanation for this mistreatment. Later, I came back out to order food and was ignored by another woman who acknowledged everyone else in the room, including people who were in line after us, before even addressing my sister and I. The karaoke choices were minimal and the food looked inedible. Doremi is my go-to place when I want to drink but not want to run into a lot of people. It's really lowkey, and I've noticed a lot of the older crowds frequent this place. What I really like about this place is that each table is its own little booth/room so you can feel this sense of privacy when dining here. The owner is super nice; he's very friendly making sure everything is good and we're being taken care of. On my most recent visit, we ordered the - Bossam with Chives - Spicy Sea Snails (Golbaengee Moochim) **I would highly recommend their fried chicken; I usually always order it but the crowd wasn't really feeling chicken. I think it's one of the best. The bossam was extremely tender and savory, and the chives that come out with it make a perfect pairing. Perfect bar food. I was actually very impressed with the spicy sea snails. Portions were more than plentiful and even though there are a lot of veggies in there, the crunchy texture of the cabbage and cucumbers were a plus to me. The seasoning is a bit spicy, but it was still very good and I think it had great value. They also serve you some Korean snacks as appetizers before the actual food comes out, so it's also fun to munch on those while you're waiting. I'm curious as to how they stay in business -- it was pretty quiet for a Friday night. Food was great. Good sized portions. Comfortable and private seating. They serve with chopsticks and regular utensils. The waiter didn't ask if we wanted drinks so we just got a jug of water. It seemed like at times the wait staff were forgetful of us, or slow to respond. read more

Horrible service. The room they give us had terrible sound quality and we ask them to fix it. They didn't send anyone over for over 30 min until we come out to ask them again. The manager even cursed as us in Korean and gave us attitude. We ended up leaving and they even tried to charge us 30 min waiting. read more

My usual stop at late nights in Duluth. The owner is a really friendly guy. He brought a bottle of korean beer (OB) and asked how much it was in korea. I guess he wanted to find out whether he got ripped off or not. Atmosphere is great. I love the bar a well as open couch seating and curtained rooms a well for more privacy. Their food is really tasty. I always get the mussel soup and fried wings; sometimes snail mixed vegetables with korean spicy bean paste. Of course I recommend. Tap on my shoulder next time. Do Re Mi Restaurant and Bar was definitely a pleasant surprise! My date was craving a "soju martini" and since he wasn't Korean or Asian for that matter, we definitely picked the right spot to be introduced to the tasty rice liquor that Koreans truly enjoy. We walked in and was greeted by the owner, Jay. He was extremely accommodating and entertained us during the entire time we were there. We were definitely impressed with the decor. It reminded us of what we saw in Korean movies or dramas, as your typical Korean bar/lounge. When I asked the owner about his choice of wall paper and curtains, he told me that all of it was imported from Korea. Only in Duluth, GA would you find a place like this but it rocks! The owner educated us on the difference between soju and sake (Japanese liquor.) Soju is a more refined rice liquor that is usually served chilled. If you were to drink soju warm, it will get you drunk a lot quicker than when drinking it chilled. If you're ever in the Duluth area, stop by Do Re Mi and check them out. Given the dearth of late-night places in Duluth, I feel the need to bump Do Re Mi up a star just for being open until 2am, every weekday night. Items are a bit overpriced, but it's mostly worth it for the plush atmosphere (plush in a somewhat cheesy Asian way, yes, but it's also comfortable and available...). It's a good place to just chill with some friends, even if you don't plan on ordering that much, though if they had more snacky options I'm sure it'd be even better. I dropped in today with a friend at around 9:30 and told the proprietor that we were only getting coffee, but he nevertheless seated us in one of the big, spacious booths with its own curtains. Stopped by one evening with couple of girlfriends as we were craving for some yogurt soju and drinking games. Private rooms are awesome, but only separated with dividers and enclosed by a curtain so we could hear obnoxious patrons yelling and smelled smokes from their room. Owner is very friendly and patient. Food and drinks are solid, although I feel like the flavored cocktail soju can be little stronger for the price. I guess it's a typical Korean lounge. You and your friends can chill in one of their multiple rooms. It's nice to be able to bring a deck of cards or a game and just drink and play. They bring in a little snack bowl and water to start. There's food but I haven't ever gotten any. You can order soju or from a small selection of beer and liquor. Be careful though. If the bartender didn't show up that night, you won't be able to get a drink from their cocktail list. Several other negatives. You can smoke inside and the wall/dividers don't really keep it from coming in to your room. Second, the bathrooms can sometimes be left unattended. This NRB has been here for a while now. I guess it's the most popular one in this area that I can think of. It seems whenever anyone wants to go sing at a NRB, we always come here. I'm not a big fan of singing karaoke but this spot is okay. They give you service with some stuff whenever you spend some money with them. I guess I like this place because they don't try to add extra orders and try to take advantage of drunk people. Like that one NRB by the Gwinnett Mall. This is your typical Korean lounge. Coming from LA/OC, I've come to notice some of the subtle difference from the Korean shops here (Duluth/ATL) and back home. However, his place is everything I expected from a Korean lounge. I was very pleasantly surprised. (It reminded a lot of Past Memories in Garden Grove). I wasn't expecting that much, but they really took care of us. They have all your basic Korean bar food and all the drinks that you would expect. Would I come back? Definitely! Totally did not know this place even existed. I only knew of the Do Re Mi Karaoke. The wedding party came here after my best friend's wedding to celebrate and wind down after a long couple of weeks. The groom knew one of the workers here, who was very nice and very fast. Whenever we ordered, it came out right away. And since it was a special night and we ordered so much drinks and food he gave us free plate of different fruits. When you walk in there's an open area with an open bar. Once you go back, there are individual private rooms with curtains. We ordered lots of soda, soju, yogurt soju, and 2 pitcher of beers. We ordered a variety of fried foods that came with 3 different dipping sauces. And also lots of small sides of snacks. I liked the idea of the private rooms- i'm assuming they have bigger rooms. We had a total of 9 people in our party and we were able to sit comfortably inside our room. The only bad thing is the room are not enclosed. So the top is open- you can clearly hear the room next to yours. And if they're being super loud and obnoxious- it can get annoying. We came on a Sunday- they close at 12am. Also you're allowed to smoke in the rooms... Which I really don't like because you can also smell the smoke if the room next to you is smoking... read more
