Sorry, I've never had a good meal here. Fish and chips at a Pub? Of course! It was absolutely terrible. Indescribable "white" fish with flavorless batter. Burger? Bad. They really need to get a better head cook and start from scratch. And the beer list is your typical "English/Irish" set. Nothing original or really that good (besides Guinness). The place has potential and is in a great location for the neighborhood. If I wanted a generic "Pub" I'd go to Houlihans. Really. Houlihans is much better. read more

Ok food, ok beer selection. I've been here a few times. The thing that kills this place is the service, the waiters seem like they just wander around and pick tables at will. This has occurred a number of times both in the bar area and the dining room One night we sat down and waited a good 15 min for anyone to even notice us, we finally grabbed someone and she said "yea I guess I can take you"......gee thanks.. read more

Close to home, great service and a very friendly staff. The burgers are good. Love getting the sweet potato fries. Also a pretty good draft beer selection and specials. The outdoor seating is great too. read more

This is a fun place to hang out with friends. I went with a group of 9. There are TVs in each booth which is cool, as well as large screens throughout. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the layout was very well done in my opinion. There is a patio out front that had a few people in it despite the light rain. It looked like a great place to sit and relax for lunch or dinner. The service was a bit slow but again, there were 9 of us and it was very late (11pm). The drinks came in about 10 minutes. The food, however, took about 50 minutes to arrive and once it got there it was almost room temperature (at least my fries were) but everything was extremely tasty and everyone loved their meals. The server was very nice and responsive. Refills arrived much quicker than the first drinks did and always with a smile. She was genuinely nice, which made the wait tolerable. The prices are reasonable and what you get for the money is fair. I would definitely go again however, I would try going at an earlier time next time I go. Maybe things would move quicker if it wasn't the end of a Friday night. But all in all, I enjoyed my visit. read more

Hands down the best wings around the area, way better then those other places that some rave about in south Jersey. Always cooked crispy but the meat is still so juicy and tender. Definitely my go to place for wings. Also everything else I've tried has been delicious but I always get the wings because you can't not get them while coming here! read more

I love coming here for the inexpensive food & drinks, you can't beat that. I would suggest the buffalo chicken sandwich, yummmM! The service is great; the bartenders are quick and attentive. read more

Haven't been here fora are months and the menus has changed. Service was ok. Beer and soda cold. Soup was warm and had to eat it fast or would have been cold. Our meal was very good and hot. Was very noisy and the music going full blast. Unable to hold a conversation. Might try afUn in a few months. read more

Just moved into the area and was looking for some good wings. My personal favorite when looking for wings is garlic parm. And i must say that so far, this has been my favorite spot for them! Crispy garlicky and not drenched in parmesean cheese. It doesnt seem like they much drink options but i have yet to hang out by the bar. Lots of TVs and spacious! Service was good. read more

Dooney's Pub - Their private party room - Sports Bars Near Me - Delran, New Jersey

When they first opened, the place was great, all around. The last (and I do mean LAST) time I was there, my wife and I sat at the bar for a drink and a couple of appetizers. The bartender was totally clueless about which beers came in pint glasses and which came in tulip glasses. I ordered a pretty standard beer that I get in pint glasses everywhere and he brought it to me in a tulip. When I asked about that, he said that was their policy and that I needed to order another kind of beer to get a pint. Basically, it was a choice between a couple of light beers and "maybe" Smithwicks, I don't remember. Well, I paid about $7 each for a very pedestrian beer for my wife and myself and we skipped the appetizers. Probably a good idea, since our previous visit the food was horrible, portions were small and the service was atrocious. In my opinion, while I haven't been there, it seems the owners are using the Delran location as a cash cow to support and launch their Route 73 place! I won't be going to either place, so..... read more

Delicious! Started with a fun atmosphere. A lot of tvs for sports and 250 beers to choose from so you don't go thirsty. Devoured the soup, got the chips and Guac was perfect. Ribeye steak was delicious and the steak fries rocked. Topped it off with some yummy donuts. Make sure you ask for Glen he was so nice and attentive. read more

Service sucked. Food was not up to par. Limited craft beer menu. Waste of time and money.

I've never met a waitress like Madeline and Maureen . I'm legit blown away ! 10/10 would recommend . Irish nachos are the shit tho

5 Stars for overall performance. I visit Dooney's every week for lunch with my office team. Food quality is really good, you can feel the quality chicken/meat. Servers are friendly, take extra measures to provide great service and are nice to talk to. We always ask for our fav server and she makes sure that we have extra water, napkins and all minor things which many big restaurants ignore. Great service, great food ! Only thing I dont like is the chips which come with sandwiches/burgers, although for extra $1 you can get fries. But chips are loaded with oil and are not good to eat. Everything else is great. read more

We went here with another couple for dinner. It is a nice addition to the neighborhood. The food was traditional pub fare. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My friend had a salad with ahi tuna. The tuna was sliced very thick for a salad portion but otherwise was good. I had fish tacos. They were tasty but the fish was a little dry. My husband had a cubano sandwich that he loved. Our other friend ordered a salad which he said was very good. He ordered his dressing on the side. He asked for a little more dressing as it only came with one small cup. The waitress immediately brought another cup over. At the end of the evening we noticed we were charged .69 cents for the additional dressing. This was surprising and disappointing. Overall it was a favorable experience but the restaurant has a few kinks to iron out and should not charge for a little extra dressing for a salad. read more

Great place. Had wings tonight and they were big and the pub style sauce was really good. Every TV was on sports and even had the Arsenal vs Leeds game. Really nice place with great service and prices read more

Every time they mess up my order. Blackened salmon Caesar salad. I don't understand. I goT home and and called to tell the manager that they gave me a standard salad instead of a blackened salmon Caesar salad and he said to come back for the order to be corrected. Me drive back?! No offer for free delivery for the inconvenience? I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant for their mistake. The manager offered me no other choice but to drive back. I guess I'm going to have to complain to his boss for this not to happen again. I will say that the salmon is good once cooked correctly. And the girls/waitresses and hostess are always always pleasant and nice despite the mixups (they get the stars) and they are always more apologetic than the manager. But still, it's annoying to have to always wait another 15-20 minutes to cook my order again with no discount. Not even a glass of water or soda for the trouble. So my beef isn't with the girls or the cook, it's with the manager who didn't accomplish Customer service satisfaction other than with a standard apology. Not okay. read more

I have been going to Dooneys for years and today was my last time going, the service is so incredibly slow and the food is mediocre at best the staff is not personable or friendly and sometimes they can be very rude. I have been to dooneys for lunch dinner and happy hour and I wouldn't recommend going there at all for anything read more

I love Dooney's, never had a bad experience here! This last visit was a Saturday afternoon, not too crowded, we were seated and waited on right away. Drink orders and food were delivered to our table in a timely manner. We both had sandwiches, I had the roast pork with broccoli rabe and provolone (no longhots) and my husband had the cuban sandwich (no pickles). Both were great and the seeded rolls were excellent, as were the french fries. It was a nice, fulfilling lunch. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I went today with my family for a nice lunch out. We literally weren't in the restaurant more than 20 minutes before we got up and left. When we first walked in we were greeted (I say that very loosely) by an older gentleman who asked us, would you like a table outside? Meanwhile, it was a good 48° outside today. I looked at him and said no, and he proceeded to take us to our table. We sat down and for a good 15 minutes waitresses walked past our table staring at us. No one came up once to ask us if we wanted drinks or to even let us know that someone would be with us. I stared at every waitress walking back who stared back and kept walking. I couldn't believe it. After 15 minutes passed we got up and left. Never going here again. read more

OMG I was there about a month ago for lunch - the food is so good!! except they took away the irish steak sandwich my boyfriend and I used to order. the fries are amazing. The only problem is the smoking area outside is not very cozy. Julie Patterson Ronneburg read more

Come here and order the fish and chips! Most of the menu is decent if you're not looking for anything gourmet. Fish and chips are a sure bet. It's the best I've had anywhere! It's crowded and noisy, but worth the trip. The beer list is pretty decent; they stock fairly local craft brews, mostly in cans and bottles. They also serve a lot of macros, if that's your thing. read more

I purchased some wings from Dooney's yesterday and they were horrible. Absolutely no Taste to the wings or sauce . They must have just cooked the naked unseasoned chicken and dip them in tasteless sauce . Dooney's must have changed chefs because usually there food is good . Even my grandson the human garbage disposal couldn't finish eating those tasteless wings . Please add some seasoning on the wings and sauce . read more

Came here for a quick bite. Typical bar food. Got the honey BBQ wings and Irish nachos. Wing had a bit too much BBQ sauce and the Irish nachos were made with fries rather than chips. Bartender was very nice and quickly served us. Nice spot for a quick bite and drink. read more

I think the atmosphere sucked hardcore, I didn't like the fact that we were sat near the bar with my 6 year old. The prices are pretty fair, the service wasnt that great all, could do much better. I think its just a lot of hype really. My burger was heavy and not cooked the way I ordered it. Now the bread was really good and we all thought so. I think they need to step it up with their service (be a little more out going) and pay mind to how people order their meat, bc if I say medium rare I do not want chard corners and a little tiny bit of pink. I think the only thing that saved this place were their prices. read more

I'm from out of town and Went last night for dinner with another couple and my daughter. Staff was great, food was great and nothing but great laughs. Justin was our server and he did amazing. Thank you dooneys for great service read more

Had the Shepherd's Pie: just ground beef underneath mashed potatoes and cheese, with string beans on the side. It was OK, but not worth $14.99. Liked the Kilkenny Cream Ale and the Irish Nachos. My sister's soup was luke warm, though the waitress gladly had it heated up. Have been here a few times before and enjoyed my meals more than this visit, Will return, but the Shep's Pie is off my list. read more

Nice new place in the area. Excellent food. Great beers on tap. The Beef Stew and Fish & Chips were the best. Great Potato Soup too. Our waiter treated us like gold. He was attentive, friendly and helpful. Try it soon. Looking forward to many great meals. read more

Inexperienced server = missing toppings on nachos/burger and empty beer glasses. But place was packed and she was young. I guess if I lived near Dooney's, I would go there all the time. Food was good and they had a variety of beer. Happy Hour is 4-6 and I think that's cheesy. read more

The "Pub" Burger with pesto and roasted red peppers was amazing! Blackened chicken sandwich with blue cheese was also good. Skip the Irish Nachos because they have liquid cheese (ew) and the chips that come with sandwiches are tasteless. read more

A close option if you want to catch a game or grab some food/drink. The beer selection is surprisingly decent, with DFH 90 minute on tap! I had a chance to sample the huge wings and they were pretty good. The sauce could have been slightly better but for the shear size of the wings, they were worth it. I like this place even though it feels chainish; it's clean, comfortable, and an easy option if I want to stay close. read more

Went here yesterday to try something different as we are not from the area. Most food ok not great but I had the Sheppard pie thinking an Irish pub couldn't screw it up but they did! Extremely greasy, I mean I poured some out of the boat it came in and was still a whole lot left. I did eat the mashed potatoes on top cause I was hungry and we were on our way to the movies but the meat was uneatable. When I told this to our waitress she had nothing to say and handed me the bill. Needless to say she did not get even 15%. If we weren't in a hurry id ask for manager but we had to go. read more

First timers and it's a great atmosphere ! It's your typical Irish pub/sports bar. The food is good here as well. I would recommend trying their wings and potato leak soup. I was surprise to see the soup on the menu, but totally worth to order. I also had the fried pickles and I've had better. I was hoping they would be pickle chips, but they came out as spears. I'll be back for Sunday football. read more

We decided to try Dooneys Voorhess. Great looking place. Good beer selection. Service good & friendly but....... If your looking for good Irish food. No way! We were served potato leek soup. Tasty. But I Could have really enjoyed it if it wasn't served cold. Parmesan garlic fries.....again tasty but... there was a 1/4 cup of oil sitting at the bottom of the basket. Couldn't eat the oil soaked potatoes. Wife had the meatloaf....was served up as a grilled burger rather than the old fashion style meatloaf that one would expect a comfort dish should be. Finally, I was craving a good Guinness beef stew. Ah yes..a real savory taste of Ireland. But, My expectations got the better of me. A few chewy pieces of beef, in what looked like a gallon of thick brown gravy. I could see some peas but the potatoes & carrots were lurking somewhere in the muddy soup. I think that Dooneys has great potential. They just need to go back to the basics, I.e., make some adjustment and turn the Irish pub into an authentic tavern people can rave about. read more

Excellent pub. Attended a party here with a private bar and bathrooms. Drinks were strong and the bartenders were top notch. Wings are really good, the garlic parmesan ones were excellent. Chicken parm, hot roast beef with horseradish and baked ziti were very good. Great service, clean bathrooms. read more

Been a patron since they opened and Dooney's used to be awesome. Over the past few years service and food quality has declined. Tonight, I get it that it's St Patrick's Day, but the bar service was absolutely horrible. On a night where you would expect the alcohol to flow, it creeped. Our apps made it to the table before our first drinks and we were done with the apps before my drink made it. Not the servers fault at all. This is totally the sign of a horrible bar staff. Drinks should be FIRST. I dont care about comp'd drinks. I want good overall service. I do NOT recommend Dooney's on a high volume night. The Guinness Irish Stew was horrible and one of our meals came out cold. The stew looked like it had been sitting for a day and the gravy looked broken ad store bought. Terrible! read more

Dooney's is an excellent local pub! The food is awesome. The wings rock! Other favorites are the quesadillas, calamari, Guinness beef stew and Shepard's Pie. The beer is always cold and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and courteous. My favorite night to go is Tuesday. Quizzo starts at 8pm and how can you beat $1.50 tacos??!! My kids love the Shirley Temple's and burgers. Give it a try, you'll definitely be back. read more

Wow the response to the review was super professional. No problem Dooney's I'll take my fun self to a pub with much better food!!

Stopped by with a friend last night and had fine service from Brittany. The potato soup was excellent and the kitchen staff was able to concoct hot/honey sauce for my wings despite it not being offered on the menu. Would recommend to others. read more

Been there twice and disappointed both times. Loud and so-so food. Quite a few beers on tap including Guiness, Harps, Irish draft cider, etc. but not served in pints. The fish and chips were OK. The Irish Beef Stew (Guiness) was disappointing. It was served in bowl over mashed potatoes and was barely warm. I like Dinty Moore Beef stew out a can better and costs way less than the $12.99 Dooney's charges. The restaurant /bar itself is very loud. It is a large open room in a strip mall taking up 2 or 3 storefronts. While they call themselves an Irish Pub they it is really just a sports bar with lots of TV's around with high open ceilings. There are too many competing sounds bouncing around inside the bar: Different games are on the TV's playing along with 2 types of music plus the noise form the bar patrons. My friends hand burgers off the menu and said they were good. It is not on my lists of pubs to return too. I recommend travelling further north on Rt 130 and trying Doc's or Geharty's Pubs up in Burlngton City instead. read more
