I bought my little blessing 7 years ago from this horrific place. Let's emphasize blessing. My dog is only alive through final proper care, compassion and me buying her. It is a truly sad place. I thought I did my research on little dog specialization breeders. Was I shocked. I drove to what looked like an adorable little farm. The second I went inside it was a creepy experience. I read situations and people well. All feelings were off the whole time. The breeder was scary and very argumentative the entire time. Not compassionate, welcoming or warming by any means. I knew I had to save the puppy I picked out. I looked them up, found a little puppy I fell in love with. When they brought her to me, in the lobby, she was grabbed from under a red heating lamp what I've only seen in reptile cages with mulch stuck in her. I had no idea where her mom was. At this age and size, she should have been with her mom still majorly at points for developmental growth and milk. I asked to see her parents. They aggressively declined not allowing me to see them. They told me what the parents weighed. My dog is nothing, looks like nothing and is nothing of what they said. She doesn't look or act like breed I thought I was buying. My dog has grown into the kindest, most beautiful trained dog. But if you want the truth, do not go here. I just bought her and ran as far as I could from this place. My heart was too big to not continue saving her, as I didn't want to let her go from my arms. My parents used to breed cocker spaniels. They know right from wrong. They didn't think she was going to make it when I brought her home because of her dehydration and malnourishment. We worked long and hard to get our little girl happy and healthy. I had to take her to multiple vets. They all know and warned me of this place. They have said all Columbus locals buying from there have the same experience. They called everyday for a few days after, after I began talking about my experience, her condition and the truth they told me to never reach out to the, hung up on me and I never did hear from them again. I truly wish them the best and hope those dogs get amazing homes. I knew my little girl wasn't getting the write treatment when I was sent home with a GALLON of ziploc medications. I was supposed to be giving my dog multiple rounds of oral vitamins, medications, etc., that should've been taken care of if she was getting the proper feeding schedule from her mom. We had never seen such a thing. After talking to more Columbus locals more and more of my experience, other people had the same experience. After going to my first vet, they told me to drop the bag snd stop giving my brand new puppy those odd meds and only give her what they ordered. They've heard of them doing this. It broke me. But I listened. She is now a strong little girl. They told me she would be 30 lbs. she is 10. But she is my best little friend. She is one strong little girl. They told me she would be black and tan. She is black, gray and white fur. Nothing was correct. I had to take her to the vet so early on from bringing her home before her 2 week vaccine check up because she developed a DEEP whooping cough I've never heard a dog have. When I took her into the vet, I started hearing what I needed to hear. It's a sad story, but I made it into a strong one. I can't believe they made money off of what could've been sad. It makes my heart hurt.

Took my Goldendoodle to Wendy's for a grooming mid August. We recently moved to the area and needed…read morea new groomer, as we have only taken our dog to one person, and after some research I decided to try Wendy's. On the phone and in person they were very pleasant and looked busy, and they gave me a lengthy consultation, so I felt pretty good about the situation. I asked her to do "poodle paws" on my golden doodle, which means you taper in the paws very short instead of leaving them shaggy (which looks a little ridiculous at first but anyone with a dog who has shaggy paws would know why this makes things a little easier!) I even showed her pictures of what my previous groomer had done as a reference. When I went to pick her up everything looked pretty good except for the fact they took the paws SO SO short, they looked scary. But I thought, oh well, they will grow back and next time I would tell them not to go as short. Then when we got home I noticed my dog licking her paws and when I went to check it out I saw that they were BURNED from the clipper on all four paws and they had burned her upper lip raw as well. Her one paw was so bad that we had to wrap it for almost a week and put wound cream on it. Two weeks later and her paws are healed, but her lip is still healing. Seeing her in pain and uncomfortable for almost 2 weeks broke my heart, and I pray that this will not scar her for life every time I take her to a (DIFFERENT!) groomer.

I was given paperwork stating that Charlie was safe to be around children. Based on what ultimately occurred, I believe that paperwork was inadequate and misleading. At the time of adoption, Charlie was sent home on four Trazodone pills per day. I was told by the shelter's veterinarian Zac, that this medication was for depression and anxiety, and that it was okay to wean him off of the medication. When I followed that guidance and began tapering the medication, Charlie's behavior changed dramatically. He exhibited clear behavioral issues, became aggressive, and ultimately bit my daughter. Based on how quickly his behavior escalated once the medication was reduced, I believe the Trazodone may have been used to mask underlying aggression rather than disclose a serious behavioral risk to a household with a child. The police were called immediately. When officers contacted Franklin County Animal Control, the response was deeply concerning. The agency argued with the responding police officer and initially refused to send anyone out, even after being informed that a dog had bitten a child. Only after a supervisor was requested and the officer insisted that the dog be picked up immediately did they take action. This situation was mishandled at every level--behavioral disclosure, medication guidance, paperwork accuracy, and emergency response. Families rely on shelters to be honest and transparent so they can make informed decisions that protect their children and homes. That did not happen here. Charlie was euthanized. Based on this experience, I strongly do not recommend using this shelter.
