We enrolled in Alex's Saturday dog walks where we socialize with other dogs and their owners, working the dogs in a group environment. We adopted our dog from ASPCA recovery center and she had quite a few behavioral issues. She was…read morenippy, barking and jumping a lot which actually scared me since we have little kids. After working with Alex, we realized that her biggest issue was that she was "over-excited". Alex recommended her to be on anxiety medication which we found was VERY helpful and needed. He also explained to us how to monitor her levels of excitement by using commands and waiting for her to calm down before she became jumpy, nippy and barking. We also realized that we needed to use a muzzle when new people came in and around our 2 year old to make sure she's not nippy with them. All this and the commands gave us huge relief. We had 4 sessions with Alex and have had her for 3 months and we feel so much better. We definitely recommend Alex. He knows what he's doing and he's so kind with the dogs.

He was so well behaved when I arrived, you could tell he had a great day. He also got groomed for the first time and He was so soft and smelled great. With it being a first visit, When I picked him up I appreciated TJ telling me how the day went and I could tell that he treated my dog like his own pet. Can't wait to bring Tonto back! Updated a few visits later: We've now come back for several visits and our pup gets ECSTATIC to jump in the car and head to TJs. We showed up a few minutes before opening and the second we pulled into the parking lot Tonto got excited. Then when the workers arrived I had to hold him back from jumping out of the car to go! It's so comforting knowing he's happy and being well taken care of. He did go to another boarding/daycare place for 1 visit just due to timing and scheduling, and I did not get this same reaction. He needs regular grooming so we decided to give TJ's a try. I regret it, they had my dog for almost 8 hours, they told me for 4 hours my dog was in the dryer and no other updates. They said that he would be done in an hour and a half after having him for almost 6 hours, two hours later they had no ETA. At this point they stopped answering their phones, so we had to drive up there and they kept saying "your dog is in the dryer" even though it had been 3 hours since they told us this. You don't need a a license to know a dog should NOT be a dryer for 3 hours straight, nor would an 8 lb dog NEED to be. They told us their only groomer had been gone for the last 3 hours and had not been grooming any dogs, that they'd had numerous owners come and take their dogs without grooming. They offered us a free appointment, but we had to ask 4-6 times for them to just give us our dog back, since they had NO idea when they would even be able to groom him. The only reason they even gave him back was because another irate dog owner came in then, demanding their dog back for the same reasons. I don't even want a free haircut from this place, I don't trust them with my dog.
