The few websites that do pop up have broken links and/or email doesn't work. I am originally from HI but live in Seattle now so I was mostly concerned about how I would get my folded cranes to be mounted. Cathy was communicative and clear on when I needed to mail the cranes by, when she would mount them by, and when the framing process would start. She partners with Pictures Plus for framing and was great at explaining the different options for frames/glass over the phone since I wasn't able to be there in-person. I would definitely recommend Cathy's services! Will definitely post a photo once our wedding photos come in.

After folding 1,000 cranes, we were ghosted by the person who'd agreed to put them together for us. With only about a month before our wedding, we got in contact with Cathy. She was immediately responsive, professional, deeply knowledgeable, and SO FAST. We texted about the artwork, signed paperwork, and had the cranes out to her that same day. Within two weeks, we received our finished piece, and were completely mind-blown. It is SUCH a gorgeous piece of art and stunningly put together. And we will have it in time for our wedding next week. Would 100% recommend Cathy over any other crane service out there!

Before there used to be a lot of shops who made them but now there are only a few on the island. Surprisingly the one place I was able to find it for a wedding gift was a tattoo shop. The communication between the owners and me was excellent. I was able to tell him exactly what I wanted, he made five different variations of what I was looking for and worked around what I thought looked the best. The turn around was a week but it was well worth the wait. I could've maybe found something in Etsy for cheaper or just bought something from the ABC Store for a gift but a gift that is unique, made by a local artist and you can authentically say I got this from Hawaii is what I think made me decide to go with them and it did not disappoint. If you're looking for omiyage or a gift from Hawaii go to A Rainbow Studio. They will help wrap it up with bubble wrap if you're not a local or are going somewhere.

Panama is a true artist. He freehanded his artwork before using the fruit "stain". He was very professional. In the very short time he created beautiful artwork on her hand. I suggest you see him or his fellow artist Yumiko. They are both fantastic! We saw the great work she did on other clients as we were waiting for my daughter's turn. He worked roughly 20 minutes on her hand. Super impressed! They have a variety of books to fit your budget and style. Panama also thoroughly explained what she needed to do to preserve the artwork. You will not be disappointed! Make sure you tip them! The artists' time and talent is unmeasurable! Mahalos Panama and Yumiko!

(that is what Plein Air is) He takes you to really gorgeous locations and there is a lot of fun people that go. If you are visiting Hawaii or a local, it is a really good class to take. I wondered whether if I could really learn to paint in 12 weeks. The answer is yes. I learned in 12 weeks it would take a lifetime to learn but the process will provide me with challenges and fun all along the way. I also learned to become a painter it is more than picking up a set of skills but rather you need to be inspired and need to be surrounded by other painter pursuing the same goal. That is the rare opportunity that Mark Brown provides. He starts the class with a 1 hour demo. Students paint for 3 hours and ends with everyone's work is critiqued. On the west coast, Boston, New York you can find workshops just like Marks. In Honolulu, I looked all over for a painting class like Mark's and can tell you there isn't one.
