We had not had our 1000-gallon septic pumped out in over 15 years. I had been good about putting enzymes in the tank monthly, and we were not experiencing any issues that required fixing. I decided that despite my shame in putting it off so long, I'd stop procrastinating and get a pump out scheduled. The first company I called (who had previously pumped the tank for us) wanted over eight hundred dollars to do it and said it would be more if they had to dig and find the cover. I decided that before having anyone do the work, I'd find the cover myself and dig it out. I'm a 50-ish woman who is fairly fit, but I only had a general idea of where the cover was and a visual of vent access to the tank. I watched YouTube videos on how to locate the cover and after excavating by hand way too much of a river-rock-saturated yard, I finally located the lid. I had saved money by doing it and it made me realize how important it is to know where that access is! Knowing I'd saved some money by digging up my yard, I started looking at reviews and talking to friends about what company I should go with to do the work. I decided to forgo using the previously called company as they are now based at the other end of the valley and go local by trying the Doo Doo Bus Septic Service. I called and there were openings in the schedule for a few days later, which was much sooner than the other company. I needed to delay the service for about 3 weeks which was no problem. Doo Doo Bus called me two days before the scheduled appointment for the pump out to confirm the date, and let me know that because Chris (the guy who came to pump out the septic) scheduled his appointments based on where they were located on any given day, he'd give me a call when he was coming to my location. This wasn't an issue for me as I work from home, but I could see that might be an issue for some who would want or need a specific time. Chris and another man arrived mid-afternoon and accessed the cover of the septic, as well as our hose to assist with the cleaning. The pump out took approximately 30 minutes from start to finish, and cost $415. The price was the lowest quoted price from the scheduler who indicated the price would likely go up if there were issues found. I forgot to ask if they had a senior or veteran's discount - both of which we would have qualified for, but I was pleased with the quoted price as stated which is highly competitive and low in comparison to others. I was pleased to hear that despite my poor pump-out maintenance schedule, the tank was easily pumped out and stated to be in good shape by Chris, who said he's been working in the septic business for 30 years. It would have been great to have a set time for the service, but Chris did call me several times to update me on his arrival time once he knew he was headed our way. Overall I'm pleased. The pump-out was reasonably priced and done quickly. I would use Doo Doo Bus Septic Service again and recommend it to others. read more

About 5ish years ago we paid cash for a "top of the line" pump that supposedly had a 5 year warranty. Kept asking the owner for a receipt but he "never got around to it", and eventually we forgot about it. 2 or 3 years later, the pump quits, so no biggie, it's under warranty, right? I am so grateful to have found this company! Back story: In Oct. 2016, I bought undeveloped land. I was advised by the Septic contractor to install the septic system asap to beat the winter rains. (This was not Doo Doo Bus Septic Service). As soon as the septic was installed he handed me an alarm and told me to make sure to have it installed when the septic was wired in. Well, due to all the snow and the terrain of my land, all construction was at a standstill for 8 months. Then it took another 6 months to build. By the time the system was hooked up I'd misplaced the alarm. The original contractor brought me a new one and hooked it up and it immediately went off. Blame went between him and my electrician and then to me for not installing the alarm and letting the system work for 2 weeks. He told me the pump was no longer under warranty and it would be a waste of time to send it to the manufacturer. I had to buy a new one. ($600) That was March 2018. Last week my pump alarm went off. I immediately shut the breaker off and called the contractor. I called him 8 times in the next 5 days before I got a call back with the bad news that 1) he would not be able to come out for at least 10 days and 2) he's sure my tank is full now and will need to be pumped ($450) to assess the situation and/or 3) I can call the guy who bought his pump truck and pay for the ($100) service call to assess the situation if I can't wait 10 days. But, I was told "not to worry because there is wiggle room on the time frame and will not affect the warranty if the pump is bad, again." So, yeah, I was looking at a minimum of $550 to have someone come to look my situation. I was livid. That's when I searched for another company. I called The Doo Doo Bus and explained my situation. Chris shared some of his knowledge and quickly eased my mind with explanations of the various easy problems/solutions. He offered to meet me after work to check it out for FREE. Chris showed up a couple of hours later, assessed the situation (stuck float) and quickly fixed it. In a matter of 10 minutes he saved my $550, minimum. In a service-oriented industry, the only thing that sets one company apart from another is the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Chris was effecient, knowledgable, skilled, compassionate, and he demonstrated a level of INTEGRITY that I have rarely seen in the construction field (this is my 4th home to build). I used this company because they were more reasonably priced than any other. they replaced the tank but had a problem with the pump , I was told there was a problem with the electrical line. I asked for them to have their electrician to come out and give an estimate ( this was during the COVID ) I was told getting an electrician out would take time . this was after Almeda Fire and early on in Covid I said fine as soon as you can. This is now 06/2022 never heard from them again. had someone else come out recently told us problem is wrong voltage pump installed 110 should have been 220 this was in May of this year. Had my septic pumped this summer, pretty reasonable rates, however they did not inspect the system, they just pumped it. Also asked for them to install new septic lid and riser which they agreed to do. I guess there was confusion on when and I never received an appointment. They never came back or called. 4 months later I call to have them finally replace the septic lid and riser. Driver shows up and destroys a few feet of my driveway with his truck crushing my asphalt. It was already starting to crumble on the edge but the large truck finished it off. I requested an install of a new lid and riser. The driver couldn't lift the old septic lid off himself so I had to help which I found odd as I am the paying customer. The guy also tried to drop my old lid to the bottom of the tank to which I said hell no. I didn't want it to damage my concrete tank. Anyways it seemed like I did most the work installing the lid and riser. I had to drill holes and put in the screws to fasten the lid. The driver stated he didn't bring any tools. The employee came out unprepared, and expected me to do the job which I did. I will say their prices are great. However I wasn't informed I'd be doing work too. Probably won't ever recommend them to anyone after that experience. I have upgraded the stars mainly because of their prices. As a paying customer we should be informed our help will be needed.
