Stopped by to pick up some donuts for company on Wednesday morning. We were excited to find some good donuts in the South end of the valley, but we may have to wait a bit longer. We walked in at 9:00 am and found the cases pretty bare. We decided to try a few anyway. I got a sugar coated, lemon filled. It was okay but didn't taste fresh and there wasn't a whole lot of filling in it. We also got some chocolate bars and an apple fritter. My brother-in-law had the same comment with the chocolate bars. It didn't taste fresh. The apple fritter was huge but also not fresh. They're open 24/7 so maybe these were leftovers from the day before. I guess we'll keep searching for that good donut in the South end of the valley read more

Best donut shop around. Reminds us of the family run donut shops on the corner in southern California! It's definitely not a light krispie kreme type donut, but that's what we love about it, dense, delicious cake style donuts - our favorites are the buttermilk maple bar, traditional old fashioned and chocolate with chocolate frosting sprinkled with coconut! I've never had to write a negative review before but I do this time. I drove my kids up from lehi to grab some donuts and to try a new place. We got a fairly large variety of donuts including what they claimed to be their most popular such as the apple pie bear claw, the cinnamon roll looking doughnut, the Apple fritter, the giant cinnamon twist looking donut and a few more. We brought them home and cut them up to each sample them and all but one were still doughy in the middle. Not just a little bit but enough that we had to throw them out. I have missed my home town donut place and honestly this is an amazing second. Still worthy of the 5stars for sure. The cronuts and the old fashions are to die for. When I walked in, I had the impression that this place had been there for decades. There was flour all over the countertops and it looked a little bit like a dive. Consider my surprise when I asked how long they had been opened and the guy said one month. LOL! Then I took the mess as being an indication of how busy and hard they had been working. Went here because I wanted donuts at 3am, and they are open 24 hours. It definitely has the feel of a California donut shop, and the donuts tasted homemade (as opposed to bought frozen and reheated). Overall not anything incredible as far as donuts go, but being open 24 hours means I'll likely go again. I still prefer Krispy Kreme, but if you want California donuts, this is a good option. read more

Donut Star's first location in Utah is a success. They have a great selection of donuts and pastries. Their sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant is good, but could use some sort of condiment/sauce. The buttermilk donut is my favorite, but the star of the show for me is their Cronut. It takes guts to try the invention of Dominique Ansel, but Donut Star has hit it out of the park. Buttery, flakey, sweet. Absolute home run. I will definitely be supporting this small business. Stop eating the recently thawed donuts that Dunkin Donuts pumps out and taste these amazing pastries that they make fresh every morning. read more

Donuts are my favorite treat, so I have really been really excited about a new donut shop opening in Draper. I like the softer, lighter donuts á la Krispy Kreme (oh gosh why is it so far away). So, today I finally got in to try Donut Star and just wasn't blown away. My donut was rather chewy and bread-y. Maybe it's just not my style, or maybe I got a weird batch. I'll probably try it again sometime and update this review if that's the case... but, it just tasted like chocolate-covered white bread. Additionally, I didn't feel like the selection was that great. I guess I was hoping for some kind of specialty flavors or toppings, especially for the price I paid ($1/donut). read more

Donuts here are yummy. Your standard selection. That should be enough, right? Unfortunately the place is filthy and unkept from corner to corner. Fingerprints everywhere, dirty countertops, unstocked extra items like straws and napkins. There was just one kid running the place. Not really well trained in customer service. I love all there donuts, especially their cronuts. I love that they are 24 hours. It's a tradition now that for my kids birthdays I get up early 5-6am and get them donuts for breakfast since my son prefers donuts to cake. Can't go wrong with any. Dare I say these donuts are better than Banburry Cross! We finally have a donut shop that has amazing donuts. They also have sandwiches and coffee. Visited the store on Saturday 11/10/18 at around 11:30am ish? I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, employee asked if I wanted egg, I said, no just ham and cheese. He asked other person to make it. Hubby and I picked a dozen donuts while waiting. Croissant was ready and we were ready to pay. Cashier rang us up and I noticed croissant came up $4.95, I told him it should be $3.95 per menu. He said but the breakfast one is $4.95, um okay but i didnt ask for a breakfast one, what makes it a breakfast croissant?? he said only the premade ham and cheese are $3.95 he does not make the prices, plus he works at night so he's not sure. SO, Why didnt i get the premade one then?? Idk I was so confused LoL we just paid and left. When i got home and opened the croissant, it was burned and extra dry. Wth is this? The donuts are on the pricey side too, $18.XX was the total the positive note is that the glaze twist tasted good, I've had better but it was okay. read more

I would consider myself a total donut snob. These donuts just blew me away! I had a classic maple bar and it was the best maple bar I have ever had! The dough has the perfect amout of crispness from the fryer and the rest just melts in your mouth! Go try these asap. Plus they have breakfast sammies until 10 pm! read more
