Convenient to the best motels in town, this is a great place to grab a quick breakfast on your way out of town. They have breakfast sandwiches and burritos in addition to the donut fare. The glazed donut is top notch, so light and airy it reminds me of a Krispy Kreme glazed donut but far superior. Regulars use the drive up window but if you are a newby, you should come inside to see the offerings.

I pulled up and said "I'm writing a good review" I was driving to Arizona and there are very few coffee shops open really early on the weekend. This place was a a little hole in the wall but they do such a good job. Customer service amazing. They were making the donuts in the back as we walked in. Donuts are light and airy, even the cake ones were not very heavy. The blueberry cake donut was my favorite. The donuts literally MELT in your mouth. DONT SHARE! Get your own. I made the mistake and bought 3 donuts and 1 burrito to share. I wish I bought my own lol. The breakfast burrito was burrito-ing. It came with freshly made salsa, real BACON, not the microwaveable junk and a fluffy tortilla. My total was literally $10. Definitely make the stop! And double up on your order!!

This place is a joke ! Spouse went at 5Am and NOT opened , the door wasn't opened and with back light on and website said 5Am and a car in the parking lot. So waited until 6Am and only a few selection (no donut holes , no long johns , cinnamon twist or cinnamon rolls).. plus tasted like day old donuts too . you don't come to work at 5Am and then start making donuts . Thanks for the crappy start of the day but I'm grateful to be alive and much worse things could happen but please get your crap together and run a business right!

Where all the donut making magic happens. The aromas were amazing.

My wife and I were charging our car in Tucumcari and looking for a donut for breakfast. A quick search brought up Donut Pro a couple miles away that would allow us to drive through town and see the old motels on Route 66. They have a drive-up window but we went inside to gaze at the selections. The aromas were wonderful as they make the donuts in the same building. We were immediately taken by their kolaches, hot dogs in a donut. What could be better. We each got one to try along with a regular donut. I got a spicy kolache that was yummy and barely spicy I would say. My wife got a regular kolache that she enjoyed. My extra donut was a glazed lemon filled and it was great. My wife was jealous as I let her try a bite. Her chocolate covered buttermilk one was good but not as good as my lemon one. The folks working here were super friendly and nice. We chatted a bit before paying and hitting the road. Our total bill came to a little over $7. We thought maybe he missed something but he said he got it all. I guess we are just used to big city prices.

Friendly service and the donuts melt in your mouth. Filled donuts have filling from end to end. Drive through or walk in. Hmmm

Apple Fritters ended up where they belong in the garbage

Lots of memorabilia to walk through and things that you could buy right now - dishes, clothes, vintage items. One large bathroom - roomy and clean with a super funny and relevant sign above the toilet. Welcomed into the place and asked if we were eating with them or was it take away. Eating In. Found the cafe part of the place stood and pondered the menu (pretty much same menu as posted in the pics) and decided what meats we each wanted on our 2 meat plate + 2 sides. Spicy sausage link with cheese, brisket, slaw and potato salad for him; ham and turkey meat for me with the beans (warned that they'd be talking later) and slaw. Each had a big slice of bread + butter and a sugar cookie. Drinks of lemonade and unsweetened tea were all you could drink and came as part of the meal. There are canned sodas and bottled Coca Cola for an extra price. I saw there was fresh coffee in the pot. All food was very delicious, fresh made, and served generous sized portions. We had so much leftovers we have a good start on tonight's dinner/supper. On the television was the Western/INSP channel with High Chaparral playing. Blast from the past. Great Wall art all over the place, and even outside on the "patio" area where there's cooking going on (spare ribs were smoking for tomorrow's customers). This looks to be a family run business with a friendly attitude. As the husband went to pay the owner-ess started to type in the credit card machine. My husband asked "Do you take cash" to which she replied "yes, we just do see it much." There ain't many a truer statement, everywhere we go it's typically the card. Husband tried to leave a tip and she wouldn't accept it. Just come on back again. I highly recommend this place as a stop over for a leisurely, friendly meal. As we left, the husband said "Nice ole folks ... Usually we have to pay for the cookie (home baked sugar cookie) and they gave it to us free as part of the meal."

I visited on a Monday evening, around 5pm. That's usually the time us old folks eat. I had no issue getting a table. Promptly seated, I ordered a beer and my dinner. The menu is a good mix, something for everyone. I ordered the Chili Rellenos. Of course I ordered that. Hey, when in Rome..... My meal was served quick and hot. Waiting a minute to cool was definitely in the cards. No problem, I had my beer, salsa and chips to occupy me while the steam settled. After a bit, I dug in. First fork was the rice. Oh, was that rice ever good! The only problem was that there wasn't enough. I suggest that you order a side of that glorious grain. Fantastic! The refried beans, well, were ok, but just ok. The Hatch greenies, as you'd expect, were outstanding and very flavorful. I ordered them Christmas style, with green and red sauce. Both of those condiments were tasty, but of the two, the green sauce stood out. Boy did it ever. I'll be dreaming of that sauce later tonight. Hopefully my girlfriend doesn't pop into the picture.....OR, maybe she should! LoL, now that would be a dream! Don't worry about parking, as there is more than ample. You can park in the front, the back, either side, and if you're driving a big rig, pulling a trailer, or driving a tank, they've got you covered. Across the street is special parking for those vehicles. More parking outside than tables inside. Pay La Cita a visit for a romantic dinner, or as I did, by yourself....my dream trend may have helped with that. Hey, I may be old, but certainly not dead! Quick Tip: I parked in the back, and when leaving, I took the dirt alley. It was a fun adventure. I'd suggest that you do it during daylight hours though. You never know who you'll run into, or for that matter, over! Let's hope it isn't Skinny Pete or Badger.

Based off of the other Yelp reviews, I had high hopes, but unfortunately, we were let down by this place. We ordered online and ordered multiple different dishes in order to try them out. Here are the dishes that I got: Brisket Burrito: The meat was dried out and tasted several days old and reheated. The burrito also didn't seem to have the pan fried potatoes that were supposed to be in it. Tacos al Carbon: From the first bite I knew I wasn't going to eat these; the steak tasted weird, with a weird texture, and seemed old. Enchilladas: I got them with beef & green sauce; the beef had a decent flavor and texture. Stuffed Sopapilla: The sopapilla itself had a good comfort food type of taste and texture. I got it with beef & green sauce. The beef had a decent flavor and texture. As for the sides--the Mexican rice just tasted like salt, and the beans were bland and flavorless. If you're looking for fresh, yummy Mexican food--don't waste your money on this place. I have no idea how it has so many good Yelp reviews.
