We live in a rear corner lot in our subdivision and our home is surrounded by trees. We chose Don's Tree Experts after getting quotes from two other companies. Don's was not the lowest quote, but they've been around a long time and have serviced some of the homes on our street as well as my relatives. The call was made requesting a quote and a visit was scheduled for a couple days later. Once we got our quote another visit was scheduled to confirm the work, sign a contract and make payment. The work was scheduled a couple days later. The day of the scheduled work the crew arrived and waited a good 40 minutes for the main tree cutter to arrive with the "lift" truck. Once they got started they worked very well. Four hours later I looked outside and the whole crew and equipment was gone, leaving my front yard looking like a hurricane had hit it. The back and side yards were clean of all debris. I made a couple calls to the office to let them l know our expectation was that the yard would be left clean by the end of the day. Two hours later two men returned to clean up the debris. Overall the company does good work. The office lady, Sandra, is a gem! Excellent customer service. The workers who came to our home were all professional and well mannered.. however I had to tell them what we paid for.. they had basic instructions, although a detail proposal was written. They lost two stars on our service because the person who visited us to set up work, arrived very late on both occasions and because a lot of effort was made on my part to contact the company to ensure everything was executed as promised. We were also told that after the work was done that we'd walk the property with staff to ensure the job was complete. No such thing. They left without our knowledge and thus far we have received no follow up call. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I contacted this company to remove 5 trees from my property. I gave them deposit and on the day they were scheduled to come out, they called and said they had hydraulic fluid leaking from their machines and would take a week to repair. Two weeks later and my trees are still standing. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Took too long to have the work done ( 6weeks) from the time that I paid my deposit for the work. I had to keep calling and calling to get on the schedule. Too bad that I was not aware that I was actually making a down payment to be on their schedule. If you are willing to go with this type of arrangement then it would work; but for me, I would not use this service again or recommend it to anyone!! read more

I would only recommend this company if you were my worst enemy. In December I signed a contract with Don's Tree Experts to cut down a tree that was dropping limbs. I stupidly paid in advance for a discount thinking they were a reputable business. It is now June and my tree is still standing. They will answer the phones but don't expect an honest answer. They have nothing but excuses as to why they didn't show up when they said they would. You would not believe how many equipment failures they have they prohibit them from showing up to do contracted work. I am going to have to sue them in small claims court to get my money back so I can hire a real tree company to do the work. I got a quote in November for having a tree cut at our rental property. Since we don't live on site I was asked to pay up front. After three months and dozens of phone calls later, nothing. Every week was a new excuse. Angela is a con artist and liar who will say anything to get you off the phone. I finally threatened legal action and the crew showed up the next day. Yes they did the job, but the three months begging them to come and take care of this was a nightmare. Check their Better Business Bureau complaints! read more

Service is horrible!!! They get your deposit and schedule you a date for service and never show but call with excuses to why they didn't. They reschedule you again only to deliver another one show. Once they did show, they cut down the tree but left the tree and debris in my back yard for over a week. I called and they set up a day to come out to remove the tree only to not show again. In January of this year a received an estimate from Angela of Don's tree expert to cut down some trees in my yard and grind 2 stumps in the front yard. She gave me a reasonable estimate and took a deposit for half of the total cost which I paid her on the spot. That was the beginning of a major disaster. After multiple calls, they eventually showed up in March and did the job. However, they grinded the tree stumps and the job was so horrible that I could not replant trees in those areas. The stump that was grinded left a mound that is still evident although the area has been re-sod. That was still just the beginning; they left the pile of debris in the yard although they were contracted to haul off and dispose of it. Angela even asked me to pay an additional charge to remove the debris which I paid and even then, it was not removed. My HOA wrote me several letter and initiated fines due to the horrible eye sore that the debris created. I called the company and spoke to Angela so many times until I was totally stress out, to no avail. I eventually had to have my lawyer take on the matter and only then did they remove the debris and that was approximately 6 months after they were contracted to do the job. They also did major damage to my neighbors yard and promised to fix it, which they never did. I subsequently had to fix that too. Don's Tree Expert was a horrible nightmare. They are the worst company I had ever dealt with. Their don't care attitude and lack of professionalism spells disaster. Nice people but very poor service, stay away. They damage three sprinkler areas, demanded payment before repairs( didn't work with me), didn't remove stumps as said, front yard grinding of stumps was done half ass, they did again, but like pulling teeth without nova canine, very painful. read more
