I used my diagnostic tester to try to determine what the problem was. The tester indicated that there was a misfire in one of the cylinders. I finally reached Cruz Auto Repair in the late afternoon. Corey replied back that he could come to the house between 6 & 8 that evening (Sunday). Corey came at about 6:45 and immediately began to diagnose the issue and found that the cylinder had a bad spark plug. We talked about a price and I decided to have Corey change all the plugs. which he did. running a test again, he found that one of the coils was also bad. Since it was late at night, after 8 PM and the auto parts store was closed, we discussed a price and agreed that Corey would come back the next morning with a new replacement coil. Corey came back the next morning and replaced the coil and now the car is working just fine. From the start, Corey showed knowledge of auto repairs, did exactly what he said he would do for the price that he quoted each time. I would highly recommend Cruz Auto Repair for all repairs. Thank you Corey.

Please, Do Not Take Your Car To This Place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read moreWe agreed that Don's Transmission in Tampa would rebuild my 4L30E Transmission in my SUV for $1700. After my second time having to pay to have it towed down there I was told that they had deliberately overfilled my transmission with fluid and to leave it that way. RED FLAG !! This is an old trick my father taught me. Created pressure to prevent slips. FYI too much fluid is as bad for a car as too little. What they did not expect is that I am a very good car Mechanic who at the time did not have the time to do the job myself but did have the diagnostic tools and know how to tell what they had done. They basically used band-aids and replaced a few parts. Remember I paid to have my transmission rebuilt. After picking up my SUV for the 3rd time it Purged fluid all over my driveway when I got home and would not shift out of 1st. I don't have space to tell you how poorly I was treated after that until I started throwing out OBD codes and telling them everything they had and had not done to my transmission. After realizing I was a mechanic myself there was a bit of silence . He then said he did not want to work on it again and to come get my car and he would refund my money. Which he did , 100% all $1700. But for all that trouble why not just do the job right the 1st time? Because they can't. Unless you are a mechanic yourself Do Not Take Your Car There !!!!!!!

Upon arriving home and checking the fluid it was two quarts transmission fluid over the limit. They said that was just fine and would not hurt the car. Upon reading how bad it is for a transmission I borrowed a pump and removed the extra and brought it down to the proper level. A few more weeks go by and it won't move at all so it goes back again. After a few weeks they say it's finally ready. They say they were unable to get the correct part so they used a substitute part and that it may run "different". Upon test driving it, it's shuddering so bad I leave it again for a total of a month without a car. Upon finally picking it up again after a few days it starts shuddering again so I check the fluid, two quarts low this time. You can not leave a message although there are 2 phone numbers but no answering service and they close at 3 p.m. I do not recommend this place at all for any reason. Edited to add: I refuse to take my car back again. It's a huge inconvenience for people giving me rides to have to turn around and have to keeping making trips for a car that IS NOT BEING FIXED. It is no longer operable and will probably be sold as salvage.

My transmission had went out and I had it towed to his shop. He told me that it needed to be rebuilt and that the differential had went out in it. He charged me $1,900.00 dollars to do the job. He did not rebuild my transmission he put a used transmission in it from a salvage yard or just used the same one from my car and added a part to it. It was also leaking oil from the back of the engine. I ask him if he had changed the rear main seal in it because he had to have seen the oil leak when he took out the transmission. He said that he had not. He did retake out the transmission again and said that he had changed the seal. And he said that he saw something else and plugged it. He said that it was still leaking oil though. The area that he plugged looked a mess and you could see exactly where the leak was coming from. He didn't fix the leak and he put it back together for a second time and gave it back to me. I took my car to my other mechanic and found all of this mess! Yeah, the car is running but he did not fix it or rebuilt the transmission as he charged me! I also asked to see the receipts for the so called parts he bought and he refused!!! That right there said it ALL! This was a half ass job that he did to me. I am warning all future customers to NOT bring your car here because you will get screwed over. Definitely do your research and find a trust worthy transmission mechanic. I will never go to this place again and I will be filing a lawsuit against him! Because this is unacceptable!
